I've seen Kennedy twice (or three times) and she does a very nice job at listening to the customer but also providing suggestions that would work best with my type of hair. Be careful when booking a hair appointment here. I have no idea what happened but they royally messed up my hair. I'm still devastated and I hate everything about it. When I emailed about how unhappy I was the next day, I was met with excuses and pointing blame back at me. The owner was extremely rude to me and very unprofessional. She blatantly lied about my character and how they've been warned about me by three different salons and even lash ladies in the area. Only I've never had my hair done by anyone in the area, and never once had my lashes done! This is not how you treat your unhappy clients and I suggest taking customer service classes. I just randomly walked in to this place to get my bangs trimmed. The place is clean and although I wasn't there for long, I felt like the staff there was very welcoming and friendly. They took me without an appointment, at first the hair dresser hesitated but after I spoke with her, she was happy to work on my bangs ( ;) ofcourse I have good talking skills lol). I don't remember the name of the lady who trimmed my bangs, may be Nadia, but she was very sweet. She did a good job with my bangs in like 10 minutes. They are not make up professionals and they are very unsanitary. They did not use clean brushes to appy my makeup and used common makeup cases. The least she could of done was wipe the shadow with a tissue first before using it on me. Never going there again! read more

St Cyr has been my go-to hair place since I moved to the Worcester area a few years ago. I usually get my haircut by Yona and my hair colored by Tiffany, although she's cut it too and has always done an amazing job! Both stylists I've ever gone to have been so nice, talkative, and accommodating. The salon is welcoming and you get that relaxed, spa feeling the minute you walk in. The girls at the front desk are always extremely nice and I once overheard them deal with a difficult customer and they were incredibly professional! I grew up in the area and this was for the longest time this was my go to place. I've had multiple services done here and have drastically different reviews for each. Overall nice salon, good amount of parking, prime location. The stylists are friendly, the front desk is nice but select receptionists are a bit snobby. Massage: Great 1 hour massage, soothing music, fell asleep within 10 minutes. Targeted all muscel areas that needed more work than others. Reasonable price. Color: Reasonabile price as I have thick long and somewhat curly hair yet not the best results. Left salon with dye on my hairline, had to buy special dye removing pads from Sallys to remove. Quality full foil was done (natural not chunky highlights), yet not the color I was going for. Overall it was too dark with too blonde of highlights making me look very pasty. After changing stylists my later visits were more pleasent, no dye on my hairline, yet didnt leave as thrilled as i would like to leave the salon. Cut: Reasonable price, cut a little too much off. Used razon in select areas to suite hair type which was nice. Wax: Facial waxing, great - easy and quick. Brazilian waxing was horrible! Very tramatic experience, it was my 3rd time and 1st for this service at St. Cyr. The staff member used hard wax and cloth strips (not the best out there), she did not explain the process and basically told me to change, lay down, and how to arrange myself. Longstory short I left not only with minor bleeding but with a skintag removed! When mentioning it, she stated 'oh people would pay to have that removed'... that isnt the point. Also after done, she did not instruct me to apply bacitracin and baby powder for this sensative area as i discovered with my current esthetician. Overall I will not return to the salon as I have found better services and quality elsewhere, yet will give massage giftcard packages as gifts for the holidays. read more

I've been going to this place off and on for several years for haircuts as I moved back and forth between Worcester and Boston. Although I have a stylist that I am exclusive with for cuts (a friend of mine from Avanti on Newbury in Boston), he doesn't care much for coloring so when I tried my hand at getting highlights a few months ago, I naturally returned here. A friend recommended me to Lisa Marie, so to her I went. She did a great job, and I will continue to go to her. However, I am here writing a review, not due to my hair color, but for the day spa upstairs. Over the weekend I cashed in on a 75$ gift from my parents that I was supposed to use only for a massage to ease the wedding planning stress I've had lately. So, I made an appointment for the Day Spa Massage for exactly $75. This consisted of 15 minutes in the sauna (during which I had my drinking water refilled every 5 minutes) followed by an amazing 1hour massage with auromatherapy oils from my scalp all the way down to my toes. After the massage, I was invited to finish off with a nice hot shower if I'd like. I was there almost 2 hours total, 2 hours of heaven! My masseuse was Marlena, and she was great! Very friendly, talkative enough to make me comfortable and invited, but not so talkative that it ruined the relaxation. And she did wonders for the knots in my shoulder blades and my tight hamstrings! Just try getting a treatment like this in boston for less than 100 bucks. In fact, good luck getting a good half hour massage for 75 in the city! Well worth the money here at St. Cyr! read more

I usually never write reviews unless is really bad or really good. I visited this salon a week ago for the first time. I saw Marcia for trim and color consultation. She seemed very nice, attentive, asked a lot of questions and etc. I came in with a medium blunt cut and asked for a 1 inch trim. After talking to the hair stylist I agreed to do long layers. I had long layers before and even showed the hair stylist photos on Pinterest with long layered blunt cut. The cut was done and she made my hair wavy so I couldn't see right away how bad the cut was. I washed my hair 2 days later and after blow drying I realized that my haircut is uneven, it looked like some hair in the middle was just left uncut, The sides had no layers at all. I asked for layers to be on the top not weirdly hidden at the bottom, below the lane. I flat ironed just to see how bad it was. My Friend asked me if 5 year old cut my hair. I called the salon and asked this to be fixed. I have to give them some credit for being pleasant on the phone and taking me in right away. I saw Marcia again and I explained her and showed her what was wrong. After talking with her and showing her photos on Pinterest it came clear to me that we are definitely NOT on the same page. I was told that my hair is different and what she did was actually her understanding of long layers. I asked her to cut the "layers" off and just make an even straight blunt cut . How hard is that??? Apparently very hard! Because even after fix my ends still look pretty bad. (It only looked normal when flat ironed)The ends don't have a normal shape. Lifeless. It almost looks like they were cut with an axe not with professional scissors. This just makes me mad because now I have wait for 2-3 months for hair to regrow. If I fix it again that would make my hair so much shorter. Let me just tell you that in my 35 years I had plenty of hair cuts with long layers that I loved, so it's not like my hair is an issue. I am shocked how a signature stylist was not able to manage a simple trim with some simple long layers. Very disappointed! I understand that is kind of embracing to mess up a simple haircut but stop saying that layers are just not for my hair type because it's not true! I just moved to Worcester a month ago and needed a new stylist. I was a bit hesitant to book an appointment as I thought it would be way out of my price range. I decided to take a chance as my hair was very overgrown and super dry - in desperate need of some TLC. The salon is beautiful and though they got me in within 24 hours, the reception wasn't the warmest therefore adding to my fears of a new salon. Yona, the stylist I was booked with, was so nice and really listened to my fears and helped with my hair issues. Not once did I feel rushed or like I was talking to myself (you know, that nodding along some people do as you try to explain what you want, then they go and do what THEY want). There were also plenty of comfortable silences instead of constant chitchat that can make you even more nervous. The entire experience was super relaxed and enjoyable. My hair feels so much healthier and lighter. Not to mention looks 100 times better. Unlike some salons, products were not pushed on me. While a vitamin spray was recommended to help control the summer dryness, I was walked to reception without product waiting for me to try (i.e. purchase). I had to ask for it. I ended up spending much less on my cut and style than I thought possible in a nice salon like that ($25 versus the $45 I'm used to). I did buy several more products (okay, yes, I went a bit nuts in my excitement) as I love the Bumble and Bumble line they predominately use. But again, NOTHING was pushed on me, which was such a nice change. I scheduled my next appointment and really look forward to it. read more

I just went there recently for a wash, cut and dry and saw Amanda. I was a bit nervous because I'm particular about my hair and didn't want it butchered. Anyway, Amanda listened to what I wanted and did a pretty good job and was speedy. The conversation wasn't the best (maybe because we had different personalities) but she did a decent job and I couldn't believe it was only $25! Nadia is by far the best esthetician, ever. And I have been to a number of spas (read: I may potentially be a diva), so I know. St. Cyr is all Dermalogica, which has been the perfect skin care line for me. Nadia is great at recommending what works for you - and she's never trying to sell products. She also suggests what they sell in the spa, as well as what I could get at CVS, and describes in detail the differences and pros and cons of each. And you can buy most of what they have online for a bit of a discount, so now that I know what works, I have been doing that! Moving on to the facial, Nadia really is a skin miracle work. She exfoliates, massages, and moisturizes until your skin is glowing so much it looks new. I am never really a fan of the extraction process, but she is quick and painless, and lays on the compliments during the whole thing which makes me feel good about myself, all while she's fixing my imperfections. She adds in the hand massage and warm hand-mitts during the relaxing mask at the end, and I usually doze off into happy bliss. Nadia- you are the best. read more

I have been going to St . Cyr for many years. I recently called to schedule an appointment for a cut and color. I was told that I would need to leave a $75 deposit to schedule because I had cancelled appointments, unfortunately I had to cancel due to having a very bad accident which required surgery, and was not able to leave my house for several weeks. I am very disappointed , and will not be returning to St.Cyr salon. One of the last times I was in, the girl who cut my hair, cut it uneven and I had to return to have it fixed by another stylist. I was charged full price, and was never offered an apology. I feel they have gone downhill over the past few years. read more

My hair dresser was Marcia. Services I received, highlights, color, trim and blow out. My highlights were nicely placed and were exactly what I was looking for. My color didn't quite meet the mark for me. It seemed like the color did not fully absorb into my hair, leaving with a raw look throughout ( like it should be dyed ) but it just was! I went in with fairly long hair and just wanted a trim ( 1 inch off the length and I left with 2 1/2 off the length. My hair was also slightly un-even. The Blow Out was the best I've even seen. I loved it! I gave the salon 4 stars based on friendliness and professionalism of the staff, appearance of the salon ( this salon is so Beautiful ) + services. My sister just learned the hard way that you need to get an itemized list of charges BEFORE you let these people near your hair. She got there and was told the stylist she requested didnt work there anymore. They gave her someone else only to find out at the end she was far more expensive. She was charged $227 for a cut and color with a few highlights. I should also mention that she has SHORT hair. Absolutely awful experience here. I went there to do my hair and make up for my wedding reception a few years ago. My friend said it's the best in Worcester. Well, it turned out that I had to remove the make up when I got home and did it again myself. Hair was not bad being I brought the picture to show them. Inside the store, the light wasn't bright enough to see the make up clearly. They made me look like I got sunburn but not going to the wedding. Because of that, I almost couldn't make it on time for the wedding. I would never go back or recommend it to my friends. read more

What we didn't know was that we were at a beauty school, not a beauty salon. My hair was never finished and the hair dresser was clearly hungover. I had my hair colored on my birthday at this salon by Brittany, and I was very disappointed with almost every aspect of the experience. Expensive, poor quality, uncooperative stylist (colorist?). Although she seemed to be working very hard to accommodate me, Brittany proved impossible to work with on deciding a hair color. I came in prepared with several photos of a medium red color and after much back and forth we somewhat settled on a hair color sample. Admittedly, I was very nervous about what I anticipated to be a dramatic jump from brown to red and I think there was too much back and forth that skewed communication. However, we both agreed I would walk out of the salon a redhead. I also learned that despite the website boating $60 full colors, I was quoted $120 for my reasonably long hair. I've paid less for a high end salon on Newbury St. It was my birthday so I reluctantly agreed, hoping it would be worth it. I walked out of the salon with light red roots and brown hair, but couldn't do anything about it for a couple days. I called back later to have them fix it, and the lady who answered was absolutely lovely and agreed to have it fixed later that week for free. When I arrived, they tried to have me pay 50% to have it fixed since it hadn't faded, and as a poor (and frustrated) college student this was not an option. I then learned because of the color applied to the hair already, the hair would remain pretty much in the same range. But I agreed regardless. I ended up with dark brown hair with a red tint and very red roots, for $120 and a lot of frustration. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

I recently got both my hair and makeup done here for a wedding. If I were the bride (or anyone else in the wedding party) I'd give this place at least 4 stars- they all looked great. -My hair was fine. Average updo. No complaints. -The girl who did my makeup was SUPER nice, but the makeup just came out...weird. It didn't look BAD, but it definitely was bizarre. She put TONS of eye makeup on me, and I had to take some off before the ceremony. My face was too peachy, and the eyebrows and eye makeup was much too severe. Like I said- it didn't look "BAD" per se, so I didn't complain (I mean really, there's enough happening on someone's wedding day that a bridesmaid's weird makeup should be the last thing on the list to complain about) but I definitely do NOT think it was worth the $55 I paid. I asked the bride and other bridesmaids what they thought- they agreed that it didn't look horrible, but it was definitely an "interesting" look. A major plus was that the owner let us use the top floor to get dressed/ready/etc. The space up there was huge- we ate lunch up there and all got dressed and we weren't crashing into each other or anything. read more

Don't get your nails done here! I received a mani/pedi in February here and the nail polish chipped that night. I did nothing more with my hands than wash dishes that night and I was horrified to see that my pricey manicure was chipping in less than 24 hrs. Two days later and I had to take off my nail polish. Ridiculous! The only reason this review gets more than 1 star is because the owner comped my next manicure. The results the second time around were not any better though, the manicure chipped that night. read more

My review is mixed and I hate giving such a low rating because half of my experience was really wonderful, but the rest was so bad I had to write something. I went here the other day to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding. I did not do a trial for either since it was a surprise wedding that was planned in only 4 weeks. I'm not usually a picky person either and had heard wonderful things about St. Cyr, so I felt confident going in. Looking back, maybe I should have tried to fit in a trial. My hair was stunning. I went in with a photo and came out with hair that looked even better than what I had imagined. 5-star hair! My makeup, on the other hand, was a disaster. I brought in a photo of a gold eyeshadow with a black winged liner. No problem, she said. She asked if I wanted natural, I said yes, since i don't wear a lot of makeup normally. She asked if I wanted winged liner like she had on and I said yes. I thought we were on the same page. I felt like the girl was going over and over my eyelids a million times. When she finally stopped, I had a BLACK smokey eye. On some, this would look great, but I wanted something subtle, this didn't suit me at all and didn't look a thing like what I had shown her. She kept insisting the more, the better and piling it on, telling me that if I didn't go bold, I wouldn't be able to see it in photos. I kept telling her I didn't like it and to please remove the black. She said she would put some gold over it, and that would make it look fine. I still hated it. This went back and forth three or four times until I finally convinced her to wipe some off. She then pulled out a bright pink lip gloss. I told her I didn't want gloss because my fiance doesn't like how it feels when I kiss him. I wanted a matte lip. She told me it would wear off before the wedding that night. in my head I was thinking, "well, what's the point of putting it on then?" I felt like she didn't listen to a thing I said. I repeated myself multiple times and felt bullied into getting makeup I didn't like. I needed to go, and so I just paid and left. I got to my car, looked at myself and was horrified. I wiped off everything when I got home and did my own makeup. So, if you need your hair done, it's fabulous. If you need makeup, go elsewhere. I won't be going there again and if I could get my money back, I would. read more
