Such a neat place! The food was very good and very generous portions! None of us could finish it all. The owner is super friendly and not only is his food boat (that's right, it's not a food truck) really cool but he has a boat with live crab, eel and other fish in it that you can watch as you sit around it to eat. So you go to a town that is near the ocean, and I swear the best fish in town comes out of this small white food trailer. If you don't mind eating on the curb or sitting in your car, this is the place for you. You don't pay for fancy waitstaff or a brick and mortar storefront, just for fabulous seafood at market value. I had the catfish meal for $8.50. Compared to the few other places in town this price is a steal. Keep in mind this portion size is big enough for 2 people to share. The catfish nuggets were nicely breaded and fried golden brown. The French fries are just plain ole crinkle-cut fries but work nicely with the catfish. One word of advice, bring extra napkins and your own drink and bring your patience. Everything is cooked fresh, made to order and first come, first serve. I waited for 20 minutes but it was well worth it. Also they don't have drinks or any sides. read more

Let's get straight to it. This spot is too 5 in DMV and #1 in Southern Maryland, hands down feet up for there "Catfish Nuggets" This is my go to weekly for my Fried-Fish Fridays, of course when I get the approval of the Mrs. There's been times where we indulge twice a day. He's very friendly and welcoming to his customers on a consistent basis. His food is nice and fresh, golden brown crispy and seasoned well with "old faithful" Old bay and hot sauce. Service was great! The location was easy to find and lots of parking around the food truck. Everyone was so friendly and patient considering we had a pretty large order. They clearly labeled all of our items, so it was super easy to distribute the meals at dinner -- no sifting through each meal multiple times to find the right order. We waited about 40-45 minutes for an order of 8 items, so I would highly recommend to call ahead for pickup if you can! I ordered the regular spicy butter garlic crab snack w/ potatoes and corn (replaced sausage with extra corn). I can't wait to visit again and try the crab cakes next time! read more

I had the snow crab and shrimp boil, everything excellent one exception the corn was a little overcooked- just doesn't rise to removal of a star. Partner enjoyed catfish and chips, fresh out of the fryer, nice coating and the sauce was a nice dip for the nuggets. He did expect fish flanks but enjoyed the bites just the same. read more

O.M.G! I cannot stop raving about this food truck. The first time I visited the truck I pretty much ordered one of everything because I couldn't make my mind up. The catfish nuggets were so fresh, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The seafood is sooooo fresh! The sauce is so amaaazing you can drizzle it on a shoe and it would make it taste good. OkAy- this was my go to place- when it was the little small/ trailer. However - now I WILL NOT be returning- I ordered the snow crab leg & shrimp boil- First I had more potatoes than I received SHRIMP (5) and they were NOT large nor medium. Secondly the "1/2" of pound of crab legs were 3 legs on a cluster- -I am NO Rocket Scientist, but by far I am Not an idiot- When I ordered the Boil I was told that I would receive 1/2lb of crab legs and 1/2lb of shrimp and that was $31 - Me thinking I was dealing with the same upright owners whom I had purchased seafood from for years just knew I'd be getting the 1/2 lb of each- but I was scammed. So upon arriving home I weighed the food on my kitchen scale the shrimp were not even "3 ounces"!!! WTF The so-called cluster of crab legs was "5.8 ounces" Now I did order a side of 1lb of snow crab legs - and they Weighed right at 1lb. However this was the most disappointing and waste of money that I have experienced in a while- I try to support small - owned local businesses, but experiences such as this truly makes it impossible to. If one can't value and respect you spending your hard earned dollars with them- My question is Why should you Bother? So as far "SATURDAY's"- NO longer my choice for SEAFOOD. read more

Found this place thanks to Yelp. I got the garlic and butter crab plate. A little more butter than I like myself, especially cause they give you butter on the side which definitely would not be needed with all the stuff that pools in the tray. Tasted great and a good amount of crab for the price. The meat came right off the shell to so they cooked them perfectly. read more

This has to be the best seafood that I tried while in California, MD. Just a first note, this is a mobile food truck. They are open on Fridays, Saturday's, and Sundays. One more important tidbit is that the location they have for this place in Yelp is off. The truck is actually located a bit more west of the location in yelp directly in front of the family dollar. Now on to the food, this is my second time visiting the place. The first, I came at a time when blue crab was out of season. I had a pound of shrimp that were delicious. The sauce that they cover the food in is so good. It is a garlic/butter mix that is drool-worthy. This time around I had a combination platter that came with a mix of blue crab, snow crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, and sausage smothered in that delicious butter sauce. It was so good. Some other pointers would be to locate crab pliers. I cracked by hand and it was time consuming. Also, the price is a bit high but you get a good portion of food and also you are supporting local so you really can't complain. The last bit of advice is to not eat this in a car and use a bib or an old shit because it can get messy. This is definitely a must have along the good venture while in California, MD. Highly recommend. read more

This was a gem. 20 minutes from our hotel and totally worth it. Prices were great for what you get. Fresh crabs, snow crab legs and a pretty sweet lobster tail. The garlic butter was fantastic. Three box's were plenty for 4. The people who were there taking orders and cooking were so nice and helpful! Make the time to take a trip!! read more

Stopped by because of all the awesome yelp reviews, and I was NOT let down. Unfortunately they were out of crab when I stopped by (insert frowny face here), BUT I was able to get the garlic butter shrimp which was my very close second choice. This shrimp was so buttery, well seasoned, well cooked, and all around enjoyable. A friend got the fried whiting platter and it was massive. Three pieces of fish and fries with dipping sauce for something like $10ish. We ordered the crab cake meal as well which was enjoyable, but in general fried crab cakes are not my favorite. Since everything else was fantastic, I'll stick with 5 stars :) read more

I was craving some good seafood and remembered this place. The last time I bought food from here was in 2019 and it was some of the best seafood I've had in the whole of MD and was boasting about this to my husband so he wanted to try it.I placed an order over the phone and went to pick it up. Pick up was quick and easy,customer service was great as well. When I got home and opened up the food I was immediately disappointed. The difference alone in the appearance of the food was night and day from when I ate from here in 2019. It was dull looking,the broth/sauce looked like herbed water(very watery),the corn looked old,the shrimp didn't look fresh and was falling apart,the baby potatoes were small and plain and so was the crab. All of the seafood was soggy and drenched in the sauce. The food was less than basic as was the flavoring. Everything was bland including the "broth". The corn and shrimp tasted old and not fresh. Nothing about this meal was satisfying. The portion size was off putting and stingy if you ask me.I paid $80 for 2 platters for my husband and I and we were STILL hungry after finishing our meals. They definitely fell off.Overall very disappointing,would most likely not recommend. read more

First time I have ever tried alligator. My nephew told me to try his food. I'm glad I did. I immediately went back and ordered my own. I now go to this place once a week. The crab cakes are good. They have this sauce that they pair the crab cakes with that is amazing. The tilapia was not my cup of tea but the crust had a good flavor. The potatoes salad was good as well. After reading all of the raving reviews, I was honestly quite disappointed. The fried combo was alright (though the seasoning was quite overwhelming) but the sides were really quite bad. The corn was soggy, greasy, and covered in the same seasoning as the seafood, which did not work well here at all. The coleslaw looked like it had no cabbage in it and was all white liquid, so I couldn't bring myself to even try it. Maybe their non-fried seafood dishes are great, but I would not order what I had today again. read more

1st time customer. Oh, how I wish this establishment was closer in distance. Originally from S FL, so I'm familiar w/garlic crabs & shrimp. I ordered the Large Snack & added 5 steamed shrimp to the order. Appreciated that the shrimp were deveined, but still in the shell. Crab & shrimp were fresh & garlicky good!!! So good, I ate 1/2 of the order on the way home (Thanks for driving Hubby). I eyed several items on the menu that I'd like to try. As a waterman facing declining catch limits, Tim decided in 2002 to expand the scope of his operation by shifting from being a wholesale business to retail, selling delicious cooked seafood directly to his customers. He obtained and licensed a concession trailer, selling at various locations in the area until settling into his current spot. In 2013, he also got certified and licensed as a food processor, giving him control over every step of the process from the water to your plate.

Meet the Business Owner: Tim D.

A waterman born and raised in St. Mary's County, Tim catches much of the seafood he sells and obtains the rest locally. He also designs his own special recipes and cooks the food himself. The fries were an unusual and cool wide spiral cut, and some of the best we'd ever had. The burger was wagyu beef with Boursin and spinach. The salad had a nice touch of candied walnuts. We got dessert. The flourless lava cake and the key lime pie. Both were amazing and took us to the threshold of diabetes. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area! However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.

Let me just say...this is hands down the best seafood in town! I ordered the seafood boil, and it was AMAZING! The shrimp were huge, the crab legs were large and packed with meat, and it came with corn, sausage, and potatoes. OMG...it was sooooo good! If you haven't tried Saturday's Choice yet, you're definitely missing out! I've also had several other items from there: Catfish nuggets (fried extra crispy ) with fries--absolutely delicious! The $76/dozen crabs, while cooked good, had so much SALT on them, you needed to brush the salt off, remove the shell then wash the salt off your hands before you could pick and eat the crab meat. They were out of scallops, fried chicken. We have always had good food and service in the past. We even asked if there was new management or cook, apparently not! Needless to say, we were all disappointed. I'm only upset at the final bill, because in this case, we didn't get what we paid for.
