We've ordered food and had it delivered twice. The first experience was great. The second experience was terrible. First our order arrived missing my poke bowl and soup. We had it re-ordered/re-delivered, it was a 2 protein bowl, and there is no protein. They didn't include the spicy tuna or tofu I ordered. We waited an hour trying to get the food, only to finally get it, and it be wrong. I tipped both drivers, so I'm out the tip money which is not their fault, but I had to tip two drivers due to the restaurant's error. I did get a credit from the delivery service for the bowl. My husband and I are visiting from out of state and wanted poke. We did a quick online search and found this gem! Between the delicious food, the clean space and the kind/funny staff, our experience at Domoishi was fantastic! My husband and I both indulged in poke bowls with white rice, protein and a variety of toppings. I had a tea with rainbow jellies to drink and he had the melon Ramune. Big shout out to the staff working last night for giving my husband samples of all of the sauces to help him decide what would be best on his bowl. This was our first time getting food from here. My girlfriend ordered a poke bowl + boba, and I ordered the soy garlic rice bowl. What stood out - it's super nice inside, with good lighting and spacious tables (4-tops). There are two self-service kiosks for ordering, but the cashier seemed to be quicker. Also, the portions are crazy generous. The amount of chicken in my rice bowl was enough for two meals. How did it taste? Fantastic. It was delicious. The soy garlic chicken was amazing, and my girlfriend loved her poke bowl. The boba tea was also very nice! Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. My friend I got the boba tea- Thai tea and coffee milk tea. They both tasted really good but the Thai tea was a tad better. Service was fast despite the number of people there. If you're looking to dine in, just be prepared because it's a bit noisy because of the number of people in there on a Saturday. Overall, I would recommend. read more

We were there for lunch yesterday. We ordered two appetizers, a ramen bowl, and a beef curry rice bowl. The appetizers were fine. The ramen wasn't great; the noodles were still in a block in the bottom of the bowl. The curry wasn't hot and had to be sent back to be warmed up. After I got it back it still wasn't enjoyable because it was covered in furikake, which gave the whole dish a fishy taste. I threw most of it away, which I don't usually do. All ingredients are good quality and once you dial in your own preferences (I'll always choose no or less sugar in my drinks and always make it spicy) you will enjoy every option. Lightning fast service, yes some of the young employees really don't know anything about the food (or the cashier system) but it's not hard to get the food/drinks assembled. A friend suggested we do Domoishi for lunch today. I hadn't had karaage since Japan (other than my own home fry) and wanted to try the ramen. If a restaurant has ramen..and! karaage I will go try. Pros: Regular tonkatsu is ok, for the extra $4 you get decent pork. Whole egg was a highlight that said to me, this can be good. Noodles have a nice grip with the hashi, and unique little wooden ladle for the broth. Cons: Regular tonkatsu flat. Not rich. Go spicy (for extra .75..really?. A squirt of Siracha, which is right there on the prep counter is what your extra $1 gets.) Noodles nice bite but skimpy on portion. Karaage at convenience stores in Japan are greasy, crispy incredible chunks of fried thigh meat on a very convenient bamboo skewer. 400 yen. Karaage at Domoishi are little nuggets of bread and wing meat. And all the salt/pepper was literally dumped on the center of the basket like Idgaf. They're wing nuggets with no sauce. Don't even get those cheese steak (lol) egg rolls. $5.75 for three fried pizza pocket size (serious..try me) liquid cheese and meat flavored (no actual meat inside) after school snack bites. Go to Domoishi for ramen. Bring your seasons & nori (on the sly) & avoid the fryer everything. They have Itoen Oi Ocha which may be the only authentic Japanese thing on the menu, and it was refreshing after that dogsh*t philly cheesesteak eggroll. If I want a lacklustre philly I'll go next door to Jerry's Bistro. Lose the fried offerings completely. Concentrate on poké and ramen! You would be the only one in SOMD to do it well. read more
