This is a great wine bar to eat at outside on a nice day. Tapas are always pricey in the city, but the food is good. The shrimp rice with corn and bacon was my favorite. The waiter was kind enough to let me taste a number of wines before I settled on one. When they knocked over my glass (I had just a little left), they poured me another one lol.

The most perfect little wine bar in the west village. Great selection of orange wines and love that they do some rotating pours off of their bottle menu! Service was great and everyone was very knowledgeable! Had a few yummy bites also - oysters and cucumber salad were delish

Food took a while to come out but it was definitely worth the wait! So fresh and perfectly cooked for crisp! Love the interior which is so homey!

Great place to catch up with friends! Inside and outside seating options, and quick service. Food was delicious, but a bit overpriced for what you get and definitely something you can recreate at home. I got the egg plate which was $15, and added on just a couple slices of avocado for a whopping $5. Crazy prices, but the eggs were perfectly soft scrambled and you could sort of do a DIY avocado egg toast with the sourdough. The sourdough was a bit too tough on the edges though (over toasted), making it a bit hard to eat the crust. Also got an iced cappuccino with almond milk, which was very good and hit the spot on a hot day.

I made a reservation for Friday evening for a dinner at St Jardim. It's been on my list for some time so I was excited to finally visit it. Reservation making was easy, so I really looked forward to visiting. Unfortunately, upon showing up on time it looked like the place was busy and they only offered bar area for us. I was not told when I made the reservation that it would be bar area. Also we waited for a while and the hostess seamed to be very slow (like when I showed up I waited for her to chat for a while with someone, they were just talking and ignoring customers). Nonetheless, I wanted to give the place a chance and they were nice about the wait. I appreciated that. But still the checking in and getting seated experience was not great. The menu has limited items for dinner, but the food was very good. The options for wine are interesting too. Orange wine is worth a try. I think overall, customer experience is what drove to 3 star. They acted very greedy and even told me "we are always booked out" as in don't expect a better table. I would, however, give it another try sometime later.

St. Jardim brought a huge smile to my face the second I walked in. Came here for a latter breakfast. While my breakfast was super simple I really liked it. The cappuccino was good as well as the croissant. Vibes of this place was amazing it was so small and also so relaxing. Not loud at all, music was perfect volume and I could 100% see my self sitting here journaling or reading. Was a bit expensive overall but I really enjoyed it here. Would love to come for wine sometime.

An excellent wine bar in the west village. I was initially drawn to this spot because it's a great place for people watching / French style outdoor bistro seating. However, the food was as great as the space. Everything was so fresh. We ordered the cavatelli, scallops, fried mushrooms and the sourdough. The scallops were amazing as they were topped with puffed rice and the bread and butter were house made. Our waitress was well knowledgeable on the menu which added to the experience.

A bit of the "we are the hot and hip WV restaurant vibe" Celery Root Lasagna is our favorite. Unexpected, tasty, and feel not too guilty eating it. Halloumi & Fig was good but almost like a sheep taste tofu dish. Sea Bream & White Asparagus - really enjoy this one as well even though not much surprising flavor. Eggplant Dip - I don't like eggplant in general but I enjoyed this dish.

have been for both din and brunch-- would honestly only rec for the latter good vibes but space is small and din plates r kinda pricey for what they're worth (potatoes and cukes r good) prime wv real estate so perfect ppl watching spot though!!

This place won't be your shutter place in NYC. The rain was heavy and we just would like to find a table under the owing, the guy told us they can't accommodate, even we offered hundreds bucks order.

One of our favorite neighborhood spots in the West Village - great European vibes and excellent people watching spot. Food menu is small but delicious. Definitely recommend securing a reservation.

Stopped by here with a friend for a glass of wine and a cocktail. We were seated within 5 min of walking in on late Friday night and staff was super friendly. Had a great cozy and warm feel. The wine list is very impressive and the martini was delicious - so will be back again.

New cafe/restaurant where Bar Sardine was, where the most noticeable thing when I stopped by today was how many horrible people there were sitting on their laptops with a single coffee taking up pretty much the entire restaurant preventing other customers from sitting with food. Luckily a two top took the hint as we waited for food and we were able to snag a table as all of the laptop zombies in their AirPods didn't budge as more people entered standing around trying to figure out how and if they should order food to stay. If you are lucky enough to get a spot, the Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich ($18) is excellent, as is the Muhammara & Labne ($15). I would definitely try returning for dinner once that menu expands, and hopefully the coffee mooches would be less severe at night.

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Starting with the positives -the banchan was solid across the board and really flavorful. That said, charging for banchan feels strange to me. Traditionally, it's complimentary, like bread at an Italian restaurant so that part didn't sit right but it was flavorful. The chigae was interesting and probably the standout dish. It had a unique flavor that reminded me of a mix between soondubu and dwenjang chigae which worked well. Unfortunately, the rest was a miss. The bossam was overly salty and didn't feel true to the dish. The tteokbokki was another disappointment -it came with cheese (which wasn't expected) and just fell flat overall. For the hype, I expected much more especially because I've eaten Korean food my whole life. The venue is small and the seats in the back are uncomfortable.

When I was there on Tuesday, May 19th from 8-10 PM, there was exactly ONE bartender working the entire place -- both inside and outside -- and she was unbelievably inattentive. My date and I sat at the bar for TWENTY MINUTES before she even acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drinks. I literally had to call out "Excuse me" just to order a $25 quarter-filled glass of wine. Embarrassing all around. And when we were ready to leave and wanted the check, the female bartender working on Tuesday May 19th from 8-10 PM was busy standing in the corner chatting with someone instead of helping customers. I haven't seen someone move this slowly or care this little since the DMV. TO MANAGEMENT - this was absolutely horrible, embarrassing, and unprofessional service. Clean up your act, and hire a second or even a third bartender.
