So it's usually not a fun time having to be in the hospital - and for me this time, definitely not for fun - but I've really gotta hand it to the cafeteria staff. They are so pleasant - from the girl that takes your menu choices to the person that delivers your meal. And the food choices are so extensive it's almost difficult to choose! On one night you can have a hot entree then next time have a simple sandwich - which always seems to taste so good anytime you have one when you're not home - don't know why it works that way. I could make the same sandwich at home it would be so boring *I only have a few pics to share - even though I was here for several days, I was only able to eat a couple of those days. Here's an overview of what we had (*I say 'we' because there was one night that we ordered a family member meal for my hubby which is only $8 - so he got to join me for dinner). *Meatloaf and mashed potatoes *Pot Roast and mashed potatoes Both were tasty! Out of the two, we'd probably put the the pot roast as first choice. And one tip - gravy doesn't automatically come on the mashed potatoes so you need to request it. I had the broccoli which was steamed perfectly - but my hubby's green beans sure did look yummy!!! *Oatmeal with a side fruit salad and what I thought was going to be a fresh blueberry muffin baked by St. Joe's - was actually an Otis Spunkmeyer muffin. Oatmeal is just oatmeal - so there's not a lot to brag about - I should have asked for some milk for my oatmeal - might have made a bit of a difference. They give you chopped fruit and cinnamon with the oatmeal. Use the cinnamon sparingly-it's intense! Today's late lunch was chicken noodle soup (be sure to ask for crackers), a turkey & cheddar sandwich with a fruit cup and cookie. The soup was so tasty I ended eating it all - so I'm saving my sandwich for my dinner later. I have no complaints of any of the dishes I have gotten from the cafeteria! But I did deduct one star this time because the fooled me into thinking they actually baked fresh muffins here - fool me ONCE!! --- *Ok wait - I've had a change of heart. I'm adding the star back - St. Joe's made up for the blueberry muffin by serving their DELICIOUS strawberry shortcake cup which IS house made!! Shortbread chunks, whipped cream and strawberry! We really enjoyed it!! If you happen to be in the hospital as you read this, I just was wish you a very speedy recovery. Enjoy your meals! read more

The staff at saint joseph's alone is worth five stars, but the food is actually pretty decent, especially dinner. When I had my son, we pay less than $10 for a full dinner that came with 2 sides, a dessert. We especially liked their breakfast burrito. That was very filling. And for dinner, I had the Chicken Sandwich, and my husband had the burger, which again was filling and came with lots of sides for less than $10. It is a good rule of thumb to order at least an hour before you anticipate. Eating although we were pleasantly surprised when food came either right on time or early. read more

Absolutely love this cafeteria! I honestly was here everyday for 3 months because my son was in their NICU upstairs. After having my baby I had a huge appetite. I ordered from the hospital kitchen thinking and expecting the food not to taste good but then when I had their food I was blown away. The food is good and filling as a c-section patient I was served well. Overall I am happy with the food service and the taste. read more

Since loved one was in hospital for 1 week, we visited cafeteria several times due to convenience... the food was excellent! Everyday there's something new in n the menu...The lamb vindaloo, the jambalaya and soups were healthy, delicious and affordable in price!! Excellent service by Rosie and Alfred and Frank, who were all so generous on portions. They said all the menu items was made from scratch like homemade each day, no wonder it's so good!! It made our hospital experience bearable as we enjoyed great food to take our mind off the stressful times. read more

From the time I checked in until I checked out it was great customer service I was treated with respect. All the nurses were helpful and nice no one was rude I had back surgery It was 2 hours anesthesia No complications Dr Carlson did the surgery and assistant small incision and no stitches little to no after surgery bleeding. Had Spectrum cable looked like 4k tv clean room and bedding with a couch and neck roll pillow if you have family and a chair also used leg massagers that constantly moved to prevent blood clots You can have air adjusted to your liking. Restroom in room They let me know every step of the process This hospital is Very caring treated me like family I wanted to stay another day Stayed 1 day and 1 night sis hard by 12 pm Also A+ 10 stars!!! read more

Pregnant and having pre-labor for three days and everyone in general are very nice and they let you get an extra portion of fruit salad or ice cream. Not Rafael Correa from the morning shift on 02/08/2021 (My very own birthday I couldn't get extra fruit salad!!) He was noticeably annoyed when he answered the phone (the other girls were nice and had a sense of humor!) very simple I don't care about the stupid extra fruit on my birthday but I definitely care about talking to someone who is nice and understanding (period!) read more

I would give a zero if I could what a joke for patients that spend the night after surgery. My roommate and me were in are room about the same time around 3pm we put are dinner order in by 4pm. I had a percentage of my tongue removed and haven't eaten in 5days prior because of all the pain. I had no idea soup and mashed potatoes would take till 8pm to get here. Wow what a disappoinment. We probably won't get breakfast if we do it will be around noon. FYI bring food with you if you want to eat. The nurse finally called the supervisor. read more

Good food for a good price. $ like $5 for a coffee and an omelet. Workers are cheerful and nice! Plenty of cushioned seating.

Let me preface this conversation by saying I've been a patient at this hospital now for the third time. Once back in October of 2015 I had colon cancer surgery I'm not going to get too explicit on this review but just to give you a little history. I was here for a week. March this year 5 days and this week 3 days. Granted no place in the world has excellent food on every item that you get. I had breakfast great omelettes seriously anything you want cheddar cheese mushroom onions bacon sausage bell pepper spinach different types of cheeses the list goes on and on. Big fluffy yummy omelets! They have potatoes that are like just basically cut up potatoes not shredded not greasy very yummy potatoes ask him to have it a little bit well done and they'll be even better. Toast, English muffins wheat or regular, Bagels different types of Pancakes and then let's go to lunch. OMG lunch I've had their sandwiches their burgers, excellent BBQ chicken sandwich, good white turkey meat sliced very nice just ask for mayonnaise cuz it's a little sometimes on the dryer side but it's real good. Good breads any toppings that you really want they've got a really good avocado mayonnaise. Really enjoyed the chicken teriyaki which is in my opinion as good as you're going to get in any Japanese or Chinese restaurant with nice chicken sliced up I believe it was white meat, made on a bed of white rice with onions carrots bell peppers cabbage all steamed and just not greasy and just really healthy and very good tasting. Then my favorite item was pasta sort of like macaroni noodles, with creamy alfredo sauce mushrooms, chicken parmesan cheese. I just never reached out to tell anybody but man just the experience was so nice no joke don't know that I would come here out of the blue just to have food but if I was visiting a patient I would definitely head down to the cafeteria. I understand it's about five or six bucks if you're a guest at the hospital and you have free food obviously as a patient if you have family members that come you could feed each of those family members between five and six bucks for a beautiful meal. Seriously you just can't go wrong. So again I don't know that everything's perfect but its excellent. read more
