I finally got back to Block at Orange today. My wife and I decided to have lunch at MB. Wow!! A lot changed entire outdoor mall.... I missed 2 more old restaurants. Completely gone. Sad, sad... We sat the booth table by the window where we'd used be in the past. We got only 2 appetizers, coconut shrimps w pina colada sweet sauce, Shrimp crab Flautas. I tried Mexican lager tab for the first time. Big surprise for the lager! So refreshing, so good....I loved it. I think the best lager so far. My wife liked flautas w shrimps crab, spicy chili dipping sauce. My wife said they didn't have any pasta w marinara sauce all the time. Only alfredo... We wish they add more pasta dishes w marinara sauce. Today we had a great time right after the 4th of July. We always liked fresh baked sour bread w creamy butter to start. Interior, ambiance, service are all great, nothing changed. Pros Parking is huge. No problem to shop and enjoy dining including watching movies all day. Cons Pasta menu: No marinara sauce Tacos: only soft shell, hope they make hard shell.

It's been a while to come here for lunch. I'd used to shop and eat on weekends in the past at Block at Orange. Lots of restaurants are gone. Sad.... Only Market Broiler stays for years. I love complementary hot sour bread w soft butter. Today I ordered 2 appetizers w Mexican lager tab. Coconut shrimps and shrimp crab flautas. Loved loved both appetizers. I know the coconut shrimps here, great flavors w Pina colada creamy sweet dipping sauce, my fave today was flauras. So good! w spicy chilly dipping sauce and avocado cream. My hubby loved Mexican Lager for the first time. He ordered 2 tabs in a row. He kept saying best lager I never had....haha. Really refreshing, sweet flavor....5 stars. Ambiance was same for years, nothing was changed. Seafood oyster display stand, bar, kitchen, dining booth, and patio area. The service was great, fast. I wish I have more flautas. That good w shrimp and crab. 5 stars! Recommend this appetizer to everyone.

The steak and shrimp lunch special

This is definitely one of the finer restaurants at the Orange Outlets. We came here on Tuesday at around 11:30 am. It was a great time and day to come. There was no wait and we were seated instantly and brought our iced teas within minutes. Then they served us really tasty bread. I believe complimentary. One day I might actually look at a restaurant bill. Lol. We ordered two lunch specials. 1. Fish and chips, which came with cole slaw. 2. The steak and shrimp combo, which came with mashed potatoes and veggies. My friend and I both loved our meals. The price was also very reasonable. I highly recommend the lunch specials. I have nothing negative to say. Very good lunch with fast service. The restaurant is very big as well and has a nice decor.

Wide variety of tasty fresh dishes at all hours of the day! There's fresh sourdough bread served as you wait for your meal. Wide variety of drinks from cocktails to beers on tap, as well as wines by the glass. There's TVs at the bar, with ample seating along with great service. There's ambience is always welcoming and a place I enjoy returning to!

This is our second time here because I was craving their seafood salad. We arrived 15 minutes before closing and yet we were greeted warmly by our server. Our late arrival was unintentional. I was just suddenly hit with hunger pangs. Anyway, I ordered the seafood salad, hubby ordered the ahi tuna salad and we shared a bowl of clam chowder. The clam chowder was quite salty but both salads were fresh and incredibly delicious. My seafood salad was packed with shrimp, big and small, crab and I believe scallops. Totally worth the $25 price. Service was very warm and friendly. Love this place. Restrooms were clean and the restaurant made me imagine we were dining by the pier in Seattle. Love this place. Will definitely be back.

Ann really Ruined my experience Host stated " make sure you seat them where I can keep an eye on them" they did. I felt offended. Is it my tattoos? Is it that I have a disability? What would make you need to keep an eye on me Ann? I was seated insight of the host, felt I was being babysat. Very uncomfortable. No greeting, no welcoming in, no nothing. Food- Lobster roll- 30$ - lobster was dry, tasted like fridge, also weird that they put a big pickle in the roll which takes away from the lobster. I only ate 1 bite and had to get my feelings validated by my boyfriend so he took a bite and was confirmed gross. If you want a lobster roll go to O'connells in Huntington Beach, you get 2 rolls and large side for 25$ do not get it from here. I still paid for it because I already felt like I was being watched for assuming I'd dine n dash and that if I didn't pay for that nasty ass lobster roll that I would be validating to them that they think I'm low class trash. Captains shareable 55$ - huge plater, could easily satisfy whole table, good sauce choices, fried perfectly, has sushi' roll, crab egg roll things, flat shrimp, skinny shrimp, calamari. They did not give me chopsticks or soy sauce for the sushi Also I got the lobster roll before my appetizer. I ordered the pineapple burnt cinnamon drink - it was good, but underwhelming presentation I won't be back unless I get an apology from management and Ann the host for the diabolical commentary.

They had a pretty large menu with pretty impressive items for a restaurant in a mall. The service was great too, very attentive and friendly workers. Calamari: it was sooooooo soggy, I tried a piece when it first came out without the sauce and that was soggy too. I'm 99% sure it would be flaccid even if you ordered the normal one... good flavors though just inedibly mushy. 1.5/5 Drink: pretty tart and didn't have any natural sweetness but they wouldn't know their strawberries were sour and it was pretty refreshing so 3.5/5 -King crab: AMAZING! I was worried after the appetizer but they truly raised the bar with these. It was fresh and huge! I ate when places advertise king crab and the legs look like snow crab legs! They definitely don't play with the portions. Their price point is a lot better than other places too, if you like crab and haven't been able to find an affordable place, I'd give this a shot 5/5

Happy Mother's Day! Family lunch at Market Broiler. Steamed clams tasted just like the ones I had in Maine! Lobster roll was authentic, and the salad with seared tuna was the best. Jambalaya reminded me of NoLa. Remy had California rolls with fries and loved them too! Everything was super five-star level.

Happy Fathers Day to these two!

We celebrated Father's Day at Market Broiler, and it couldn't have been a better experience! Bailey was an amazing server--friendly, attentive, and made sure our family had everything we needed. Her positive attitude and excellent service made our meal even more enjoyable. A huge thank you to Heric for going above and beyond to make our Father's Day celebration so special. He took the time to perform a fun little magic trick with an avocado for our baby, Brock, whose favorite food is avocado! Watching Brock's face light up was such a sweet moment that we'll always remember. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the extra effort Bailey and Heric put into making our family feel special truly made the day unforgettable. Thank you for helping us create such wonderful Father's Day memories--we'll definitely be back!

First time visiting Market Broiler in Orange, and we had a wonderful experience! The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and the food was amazing. We ordered the swordfish, salmon bowl, Poki nachos, and cheeseburger, and everything was delicious. A special shout-out to Kymy, our server, who was outstanding friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Manager Herick was also very pleasant and stopped by to ensure we were well taken care of. Excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back again!

Ernesto took great care of us. He shared with us that starting next week, the last week in May, that there is a new Mediterranean bowl that will hopefully wind up on the menu. We are looking forward to trying that We dined there for my friends to celebrate my friends's birthday. The food came out quickly, and the Bloody Marys and dishes were picture perfect and tasty.

    Look tempting.

Bartender Jen was the most attentive server I've ever met since I entered restaurant industry 40 years ago working through graduate school to get my MBA degree. Wish I can compliment her with 10 stars. Wednesday special entree shrimps on stick didn't impress me, nor that piece of steak with tough tendon on the edge. Sunday seafood pot is enough for two meals so I ate that three times so far. Impressive Sunday meal and you'll have a unique Monday lunch to make coworkers jealous.

Bacon Brussels Sprouts with the Monday lunch special
    Lia B.

Came in while visiting for a seafood lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lunch specials. We started with calamari that was fried perfectly. The seafood salad was loaded with crab and shrimp. The Monday lunch special included grilled salmon and a grilled shrimp skewer, seasonal veggies and another side. My daughter got the cheesy potatoes and I opted for the Brussels Sprouts. The Brussels Sprouts were the only down side of the meal. I am sure they were correctly prepared, but I didn't realize they'd be sweet. Service was fast and attentive. Highly recommend for a smooth, quiet afternoon lunch.

It seems like this spot is super popular for brunch drinks. Had the birria taco and this one was probably my favorite of the dishes tha we ordered. There is a crispy shell, two different sauces, and condiments to add with it. There is a lot of different textures and the meat was juicy. The smoked salmon flatbread wasn't as good, it looks very colorful and pretty, but I didnt think the flavors went together very well. I like the smokiness but the salmon wasn't umami enough to justify mixing in caviar and avocado and arugula that would normally pair well with beef. Finally, had the chicken tinga skillet, which had flavor in the sauce, but the chicken itself was just ok.

Our server was very warm and helpful. For two of us we ordered one heavier dish and 3 on the lighter side and I actually left pretty stuffed. The menu is always evolving so I'd love to return, but for this visit we started with the bread and ham butter. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the ham butter imparted so much flavor. My favorite item that we ordered was the Galician Octopus. The thin slices were perfectly executed and the flavors underneath packed a punch. I would pass on the Gambas al Ajillo. While the shrimp were large, I found myself wishing that they had some char. The Summer Squash Salad was a perfect complement to the other dishes. I found the squash ribbons to be unique, the dressing to be light and fresh, and the inclusion of small bits of cheese to impart just the right amount of saltiness to the dish. Because we were celebrating my birthday, they gave us a complimentary slice of the basque cheesecake with a candle in it. Typically I'm not a big fan of this type of cheesecake, but theirs was wonderful and we ate the whole thing. I'm always appreciative when a restaurant does a little something extra for a special occasion. Extra props to our server because she noticed the gift that my friend brought for me and took it upon herself to inquire about the occasion and bring the dessert. Making reservations is recommended since the restaurant is small but making it wasn't too difficult. We were impressed by how cute it was. It had a dark European vibe which we loved. It's definitely intimate and great for small groups, not so much larger ones. We brought in our own wine to enjoy with a corkage free. We got seated right away and our nice waiter gave us great recommendations and answered our many questions. We ended up ordering a lot between all three of us but that's just how we roll. We started with their bread & ham butter, pork pate, and burrata. The pork pate didn't come with bread so we were glad our waiter recommended it. The pate was really good and was different. It was on the dense side but still spreadable and full of flavor. The burrata had peaches, cherries and pinenuts. It was different but in a good way and we also ate that with the bread. It was more bland and nice with the pate. For dinner we got their steak tartare, mushrooms, chicken, and pork. The steak tartare was on the saltier side which I didn't mind. It was actually a large portion and sat on some toast. The mushrooms were a hit. They were braised with an onsen egg on top to mix. The pork was exceptional. It was flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend it for protein. My least favorite dish was the chicken, which was actually super tender and cooked just right. I just didn't like the sauce taste and I am not a fan of beans. We ended the night with some basque cheesecake which was not too sweet and delicious. What an incredible meal. The pricing we thought was good for the quality and what you get. Some of the portions were smaller but good for us. The pork did have a 40 minute wait to make which our waiter told us. Service was amazing and the food came out as it was made. The restaurant is small so reservations is recommended. They have limited parking and there is also street parking around.

It was super tender and well marbled. The crispy chicken was also juicy as it was all thigh meat. It reminded me of takoyaki in terms of taste. I wonder if it's because there's bonito flakes in it or something like takoyaki? Scallop pesto pasta was AMAZING. Scallop is my fav seafood and I never had a creamy pesto before. Udon noodles were cooked perfectly. The skirt steak really surprised me. We asked for medium rare and nice never had a skirt steak that tender. The broccolini tasted very charred and smoky (in a good way). It complimented the meat so well. Miso bacon carbonara was a solid choice and we also got that last time. Can't go wrong with it. Long story short, she was super gracious and told the cooks that we would get there a little after two and they would make us something from the lunch menu. Isa was our waitress, and she was phenomenal! Great sense of humor, very transparent about the different menu items. I got a copal and it was fantastic! Smoky and spicy, but not too spicy. We started our late lunch with Caesar salad, Sopa Limon, Seabreem fish dish. We also got the cubano. We were so stuffed by the end of it, but everything was phenomenal. The Caesar salad was a great way to start the meal, but after a couple of bites of it once we had the other dishes, it didn't stand out as much. We probably would've ordered the same thing all over again, with the exception of the Caesar salad (although it was still good!) Sopa Limon had a very unique bone broth flavor. It was a little sweet. So amazing. Seabreem dish - the vegetables played an important part in the flavors! The fries and the aïoli for the Cubano was amazing. The Cubano was excellent, but was a big serving. The space is BEAUTIFUL, both during the day and at night. When we checked in on Friday evening they even had live music, but unfortunately I was feeling a little sick so I skipped it and told myself I'd redeem the experience the next day before heading to Disneyland. And I'm glad I did. In the daytime, the patio area is gorgeous--you can really appreciate the firepit seating and the little lake with koi fish outside. Such a relaxing vibe. We came by around 4PM to pregame before Disney and the bar was pretty busy. Huge shoutout to Arvey, the bartender who took care of us during our visit. Not only was the service exceptional, but he genuinely made some of the best cocktails we've had in a while. Sitting at the bar and watching him make the drinks was honestly part of the experience itself. At first we were trying to customize and tweak our drinks because we usually stay in our comfort zone, but after talking with him and learning more about the ingredients in The Peel's specialty cocktails, we decided to trust the process a little more. We ordered the Dragonfly and Playing With Fire, and both were amazing--beautiful presentation, really balanced flavors, sweet and sour in the best way. We're usually not big foam cocktail people either, but this visit might've changed our minds a little. Also, Playing With Fire came with a fun little presentation moment which made it even better. Honestly, I was really impressed with my experience here. I even came back for another drink at breakfast before checking out of the hotel lol. The dining area also looked beautiful and the food coming out to other tables looked really good too. Definitely looking forward to coming back anytime I'm around the Anaheim area again.

Parking validation is done at the front desk. They have a solid menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts and a very nice craft cocktail menu. It's sectioned off at the south east end of the lobby and feels like a more open space than a standard restaurant or bar and the vibe feels very OC, hipster, upscale. The only downside is the service is not consistent the last two times we've been here. The night we visited, there was a singer playing piano between the bar and restaurant area. I love entertainment at any venue, but the sound was way too loud for indoors and we couldn't hear each other talking. The reason I suggested The Peel for dinner was because I've been able to have conversations with friends and catch up without any competing noise from neighboring tables or crowds in the past. Maybe call ahead of time if there's going to be entertainment and if there's an event in town (Motocross was happening this weekend) to gauge the crowd and noise level before you go. The bar is fully stocked and they have a lot of craft cocktails to choose from and the drinks are consistently good. I had the Como la Flor cocktail this night and in the past I've enjoyed the Fera & the Dragonfly cocktails. The appetizers are great to share with your friends and there's lots to choose from. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the mini sliders a lot and my friends really loved the chorizo flatbread. For the entree I got the smash burger and it's pretty filling and rich. You get fries with the order and the fries are perfectly crispy and tasty. For dessert we got the bread pudding, lemon cheesecake and lava cake. The lemon cheesecake was like biting a slice of lemon with some sugar. It's definitely for lemon lovers and I enjoyed it. Bread pudding ice cream was good but the bread pudding was alright and you can't go wrong with lava cake. Again, my only issue with the Peel is the service. It's not very hospitable compared to other restaurants I've visited. There was a bit of a wait from when we were seated to when our server showed up. He took our orders, the food and drinks would show up, and after that we didn't see our server for a while, so we were without drink refills and our table had dirty dishes that just sat there. I glanced around a few times and saw no servers on the floor, a server that was not ours that was far away or would try to flag one down for a refill on our waters but they were quickly leaving the area. We were waiting on the check, but just kept talking instead and then finally, when the check came we were in mid conversation catching up. He stopped by a few minutes later, picked up the check and realized we had not put our cards down to pay it and came back and dropped it off again. We paid using Google-Wallet at their point of sale system and sat back down to finish our conversation and the busser asked if he could remove the dirty dishes on our table and said, in a rude tone, "Yeah because we're closed already." We didn't realize they were closed since there was still a large crowd of people at the bar, and he could have said that in a polite way and said thank you for coming, but he made it known he has to set his jars of jam down on the table for breakfast tomorrow. Honestly, had our server come by much earlier and checked on us and left the bill, we would've left before closing. I don't usually think of a hotel restaurant as a go-to for dinner with friends, but this is the only one in a while that I would recommend because the vibe is unique. I hope the service improves, but other than that it's a solid restaurant.
