I finally got back to Block at Orange today. My wife and I decided to have lunch at MB. Wow!! A lot changed entire outdoor mall.... I missed 2 more old restaurants. Completely gone. Sad, sad... We sat the booth table by the window where we'd used be in the past. We got only 2 appetizers, coconut shrimps w pina colada sweet sauce, Shrimp crab Flautas. I tried Mexican lager tab for the first time. Big surprise for the lager! So refreshing, so good....I loved it. I think the best lager so far. My wife liked flautas w shrimps crab, spicy chili dipping sauce. My wife said they didn't have any pasta w marinara sauce all the time. Only alfredo... We wish they add more pasta dishes w marinara sauce. Today we had a great time right after the 4th of July. We always liked fresh baked sour bread w creamy butter to start. Interior, ambiance, service are all great, nothing changed. Pros Parking is huge. No problem to shop and enjoy dining including watching movies all day. It's been a while to come here for lunch. I'd used to shop and eat on weekends in the past at Block at Orange. Lots of restaurants are gone. Sad.... Only Market Broiler stays for years. I love complementary hot sour bread w soft butter. Today I ordered 2 appetizers w Mexican lager tab. Coconut shrimps and shrimp crab flautas. Loved loved both appetizers. I know the coconut shrimps here, great flavors w Pina colada creamy sweet dipping sauce, my fave today was flauras. So good! w spicy chilly dipping sauce and avocado cream. My hubby loved Mexican Lager for the first time. He ordered 2 tabs in a row. He kept saying best lager I never had....haha. Really refreshing, sweet flavor....5 stars. Ambiance was same for years, nothing was changed. Seafood oyster display stand, bar, kitchen, dining booth, and patio area. The service was great, fast. I wish I have more flautas. This is definitely one of the finer restaurants at the Orange Outlets. We came here on Tuesday at around 11:30 am. It was a great time and day to come. There was no wait and we were seated instantly and brought our iced teas within minutes. Then they served us really tasty bread. I believe complimentary. One day I might actually look at a restaurant bill. Lol. We ordered two lunch specials. 1. Fish and chips, which came with cole slaw. 2. The steak and shrimp combo, which came with mashed potatoes and veggies. My friend and I both loved our meals. The price was also very reasonable. I highly recommend the lunch specials. This is our second time here because I was craving their seafood salad. We arrived 15 minutes before closing and yet we were greeted warmly by our server. Our late arrival was unintentional. I was just suddenly hit with hunger pangs. Anyway, I ordered the seafood salad, hubby ordered the ahi tuna salad and we shared a bowl of clam chowder. The clam chowder was quite salty but both salads were fresh and incredibly delicious. My seafood salad was packed with shrimp, big and small, crab and I believe scallops. Totally worth the $25 price. Service was very warm and friendly. Love this place. Restrooms were clean and the restaurant made me imagine we were dining by the pier in Seattle. Love this place. Ann really Ruined my experience Host stated " make sure you seat them where I can keep an eye on them" they did. I felt offended. Is it my tattoos? Is it that I have a disability? Food- Lobster roll- 30$ - lobster was dry, tasted like fridge, also weird that they put a big pickle in the roll which takes away from the lobster. I only ate 1 bite and had to get my feelings validated by my boyfriend so he took a bite and was confirmed gross. If you want a lobster roll go to O'connells in Huntington Beach, you get 2 rolls and large side for 25$ do not get it from here. I still paid for it because I already felt like I was being watched for assuming I'd dine n dash and that if I didn't pay for that nasty ass lobster roll that I would be validating to them that they think I'm low class trash. Captains shareable 55$ - huge plater, could easily satisfy whole table, good sauce choices, fried perfectly, has sushi' roll, crab egg roll things, flat shrimp, skinny shrimp, calamari. They did not give me chopsticks or soy sauce for the sushi Also I got the lobster roll before my appetizer. They had a pretty large menu with pretty impressive items for a restaurant in a mall. The service was great too, very attentive and friendly workers. Calamari: it was sooooooo soggy, I tried a piece when it first came out without the sauce and that was soggy too. I'm 99% sure it would be flaccid even if you ordered the normal one... good flavors though just inedibly mushy. 1.5/5 Drink: pretty tart and didn't have any natural sweetness but they wouldn't know their strawberries were sour and it was pretty refreshing so 3.5/5 -King crab: AMAZING! I was worried after the appetizer but they truly raised the bar with these. It was fresh and huge! I ate when places advertise king crab and the legs look like snow crab legs! They definitely don't play with the portions. The seafood salad was loaded with crab and shrimp. The Monday lunch special included grilled salmon and a grilled shrimp skewer, seasonal veggies and another side. My daughter got the cheesy potatoes and I opted for the Brussels Sprouts. The Brussels Sprouts were the only down side of the meal. Long time diner, first time reviewer. I normally come here for their happy hour menu as they have a delicious selection at reasonable prices. Came here last night for a late dinner. Had the lobster roll. I was sort of disappointed at the small portion of lobster. The lobster to bread ratio was like 2:5. I feel like any restaurant offering lobster rolls always skimps out on the amount of lobster. I had also asked for the fries to be extra crispy, but they came out soft. My boyfriend did enjoy his Ahi Tuna Salad. It looked pretty filling. Overall I think the food is decent but pricey. read more

I was shopping at the outlets and I needed a bite so I strolled into this place and WOW, what a gem! I sat at the bar and the bartender, Jen, was an absolute treat! She was so lovely and accommodating, I felt very welcomed. The prices were a tad high ($17 for a casamigos tequila shot) but the service was omg spectacular! The best part was... I came just 5 mins before happy hour! So I was able to order a $10 margarita and she made it with less sugar (per my request) at the happy hour price (which is just a margarita without the sugar) so I ordered another after my tequila shot! Super cute ambiance at the bar and Jen honestly made it the best! I really like their social hour food! For $8 you can get Mussel/Frites and for $8 you can get a Clam Andouille sausage pot. They serve it with warm and soft sourdough bread. I haven't been to Market Broiler in YEARS and in the past 3 months I've gone 3 times with my family. It's nostalgic for us. It's been here at the Outlets (aka "The Block" for the OGs like me) since day one. We love the clam chowder and pretty much everything we've ordered. The bread and butter is a great starter that we sometimes get full before our entrees, but the entrees always make you wanna dig in. My favorite is the cioppino. The red stew broth is rich and not too salty. The variety of seafood from crab legs to fish blend well together. The standout here is the staff. The servers are attentive and accommodating. It's a sunny Saturday, not too hot or too cold, a perfect day to be working. When you work as a Private Investigator you long for these nice days, especially when you're going to be tracking someone's whereabouts. I love my job, I would do it for free except for the fact that it would then be called stalking. On this fateful Saturday I happened to be tracking a jaded wife that could possibly be hiring a hitman. It is my job to distinguish between possibly and actually, because this distinction can be the difference between life and death. But a person still gets hungry while hiding in bushes and shadowing a target. Luckily for me this jaded wife also ended up hungry while she was shopping around for the perfect hitman. Even luckier for me she decided to grab some seafood at the Market Broiler located inside the Block. This would make hiding in the crowd and not getting noticed easier than usual. Seafood would also be a nice change from the hamburgers and burritos I've been scarfing down in my car while my eyes were glued to the front windshield. The restaurant was a nice size. Perfect! I could blend in and she wouldn't notice that I've been following her since Saks Fifth and Neiman Marcus. I guess she needed a Pashmina scarf on the way to plot her husband's demise. I started off with a Bloody Mary because nothing goes better with a hangover than a Bloody Mary. This being a Saturday and me being a diligent worker, I decided to splurge on food, besides my employer would be footing the bill. I didn't hold back. I started with the oysters, which were delicious, then onto the coconut shrimp and clam chowder. My belly was starting to distend outward but gluttony feels so good on someone else's dime. So I proceeded to order the Fisherman's Stew and the Rock Lobster Tail. By the end of this rampage I was so full I was sweating. But it's Saturday so I went ahead and ordered another Bloody Mary along with some calamari. When I had finished I was delirious and had almost forgotten that I was at work. I looked up to see what the jaded wife was up to, only to realize she was no longer there. I was so entranced in eating I had forgotten to keep my eyes on the target. I took this as a sign from the universe and decided to call it a day. Besides, I had eaten so much food, my body was telling me that I needed to make some room. Be mindful that smoking is allowed outside of the restaurant So you will find that smoke does what smoke does and it will waft into your outdoor dining area. It is what it is. Food is good and fresh. They now charge a few dollars extra on top of the already high menu price for bread on to-go orders which is stingy and immoral considering it's supposed to already be included in the price. I eat out ALOT and no other restaurant I go to that includes complimentary bread is shameless enough to charge extra for it or not include it at all so you get LESS for the same price. They need to lower the price for to-go orders if they won't include bread in the price anymore and just keep the regular price if they will. It truly makes me feel cheated and robbed that they started doing this and is the reason that as a loyal customer for several years I won't return because I can get the same meal for a better value elsewhere or get a higher quality meal from a grocery store. And their bread is supposedly artisan but my Cristal bread from the market tastes a lot better and is never stale. I told my family and we found a new favorite spot. If they do this I suggest not tipping on to go orders anymore since your tip goes toward their ridiculous bread fee. I hope the manager sees this and trains the staff if they are now wrongly charging customers when they didn't used to. I guess other businesses know it's small things like giving the customer what they pay for that keep them happy and coming back. It's being cheap and nickel and diming on something like bread that will ruin a customer's trust in you. I have not been here for years and decided to go in because there was a happy hour going on and some items on the menu sound yummy. I chose to sit outside because the weather was nice. I was not too hungry so this was perfect for me. I ordered the clam pot with andouille sausages. It was a perfect size for me and I was also served some fresh warm sourdough bread and whipped butter. I know I recently reviewed this place, but I need to add more about an even more recent visit. My husband and I had dinner here on February 15. It was Valentine's weekend and very busy. I made a reservation on opentable. Anahi was our server and was great. The restaurant was super packed, but we got refills and got checked on quite often. The food was fantastic as usual. The golden shrimp with tartar sauce satisfied my craving. The bbq shrimp appetizer is also fantastic. I enioyed my cup of red clam chowder. My husband noticed he had not received points on the app from the past 2 times we had dined here. He contacted corporate, and Cassandra was quick to help and get our points in. That level of service goes above and beyond and is why we will forever be loyal to this lovely chain. We plan to visit the Nor Cal location very soon on vacation. read more

It's nacho style served w crispy wontons chips. Very flavorful and has a kick of spice since it has jalapeño slices. Poke is freshly taste. Definitely recommended. ~ Shrimp & Crab Flautas were really yummy rolled like taquitos but more thicker. It was pretty filled w shrimp & crab. Love it. My 1st time having this. Just wished the salsa it same with to dip the flautas in were better tasting. My hubby and i noticed that the salsa has a bit of an aroma taste to it and wasn't the best. ~ Traditional Calamari is always yummy and crispy. One of our families fav appetizer we get here. ~ Parmesan Garlic Fries is another recommended appetizer. It's crispy lightly batteries w small toppings of garlic bits.
