I do enjoy getting flavored creamer for my coffee

We had been here about 20 years ago and didn't know why we hadn't gone back, so we figured we'd give it a try again to have breakfast. I liked that they offered flavored creamer for your coffee in addition to regular cream. And their coffee was good. Everyone was nice. We were greeted when we walked in and were seated right away. Our food came out pretty quickly. The first impression of our dishes was kind of a "hot mess". The food was just thrown onto the plate - especially my husband's. He had the Louisiana hot links with egg, hash browns and biscuits. I personally would suggest you ask for the biscuit and gravy on the side - otherwise it will just be at the bottom of your other food. I kinda like a little effort when it comes to presentation. But don't get me wrong, the food tasted good. I had the corned beef hash and eggs which was good - the hash looked to be made in-house. It was good - but to be honest, I actually prefer the old school corned beef hash from a can, that's toasted on the grill. And as for the vibe of the restaurant, it's not real homey. Kinda feels like a diner you would come across while on a road trip. This really isn't my style of a breakfast diner, but it's pretty popular- there were a lot of families enjoying themselves, so maybe give a try and see if it's for you.

Arthur's is one of those classic breakfast/lunch spots that's only open from 7am-2pm--so you already know it's going to be good. It's a quaint little country-style diner with a cozy, quiet vibe and huge portions. We kept it simple on drinks with coffee and orange juice--nothing fancy, just solid and exactly what you want with a hearty breakfast. For mains, we went all in: Big-Big Sampler (pictured): Comes loaded with 3 eggs, ham, bacon, breakfast sausage links, plus Italian and Polish sausages. You also get your choice of potatoes or fruit, and pancakes or toast. This plate is no joke--perfect if you want a little bit of everything. Ribeye Steak & Eggs (pictured): Angus choice ribeye with 3 eggs, plus your choice of potatoes and toast or pancakes. The steak was flavorful and cooked just right--definitely a standout. Country Fried Classic (pictured): We went with the country fried steak, topped with country gravy, served with 3 eggs and your choice of potatoes. Classic comfort food done right. If you're looking for a hearty breakfast, a relaxed atmosphere, and that old-school diner feel, I'd definitely recommend checking out Arthur's Family Restaurant. Come hungry... and don't be surprised if you're ready for a nap afterward

So I found out about Arthur's through my parents. Apparently they have been going for many years, and in fact they started going to a different location. I've been to this location about 3 or 4 times now, and I can say this much that the staff are always pretty friendly and attentive. The ambiance is definitely family dinner feeling, and relatively quiet. As for the food, I don't think I've had anything that I didn't like here. So I would continue to go with my parents and possible try new items on their menu. Enjoy

Ahhhhh what happened?!? It's the same great service and food(maybe?) but the new owner decided against offering mimosas and that is the main reason we come here! To get good eats and a couple of sips with our brekkie! I just don't know if I'll ever come back on the regular, or possibly ever again because I feel as if I've been bamboozled! (Literally, lol) I ended up ordering to go since I couldn't enjoy the dining experience I was expecting.

Don't make the mistake I've done and drive by this familiar place. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable inside. The service was outstanding! We were greeted warmly and seated right away. It was busy but there is plenty of seating thankfully. We had breakfast and it was tough as the menu is very nice with many options. I opted for shredded beef, crunchy chilaquiles. These were the best I've ever eaten north of the border!! The salsa was a great addition to flavor with a little heat. The portions are large, the price is great. I highly recommend Arthur's for what their T-shirts say is the best breakfast in town. Hard to argue with that!

Fresh cold ice tea, fast service, nice comfortable booths and chairs, I had the albacore white tuna melt & Marie had the pork chops. I accidentally dropped my half of tuna melt made me cry they went and made me another 1/2 tuna melt to take home.Thank you. Definitely great food great people great conversations. Tl;Dr have the Chilaquiles Driving by today we said "I have not been there in years". It is now our favorite place for breakfast. SUPER FRIENDLY SERVICE!! I was going to get the Hawaiian French toast and saw a note here about the Chilaquiles so I asked how they were after I had already ordered. One of the staff brought us a little bowl of home made chips and the red and green sauce. Delicious! I changed my order and was no problem. Next week biscuits, i saw them come out next to us and they looked amazing. N

It was hard to decide what to get for breakfast. I'm a fan of biscuits and gravy so I went with that. The biscuits tasted like they were made from scratch. They give you a ton of gravy too. Most places don't give you enough. Service was really good. My next visit i want to try the chicken and waffles. The picture on the menu looked really good. I can't wait to come back.

So good! Reminded me of a classic country breakfast. Their decor was very traditional, which I loved. The service was super quick and friendly. Finally the biscuits and gravy were my highlight. Their biscuits have the perfect texture!

I have come here to Arthur's few times now for their biscuits and gravy, and let me tell you they are delicious! They give you the perfect amount of gravy and the biscuits are super soft. The service is usually pretty good, except when they are super busy it can be a little slow as expected. The interior is old fashioned diner style, which is just what I want when I'm having biscuits and gravy! I love coming here and will definitely be back.

Very friendly service! This menu and restaurant has a very old American vibe to it. I do wish my portion of potatoes was a bit more generous for the price paid. I highly recommend asking for a side of gravy for the biscuits. I would return but this wouldn't be at the top of my list for breakfast spots.

Delicious comfort food! I tried their Florentine Benedicts and they were cooked perfectly. I asked for extra extra crispy hash browns and they arrived exactly as I had hoped for. Cute touch was the OJ in a glass boot. The service was great, always checking in with us and automatically bringing us to go containers since the portions were pretty big. The ambiance was very family friendly. Great place to meet and catch up. read more

We tried Arthur's for breakfast on a Monday morning. They have their own parking lot with plenty of spaces. We were greeted as we came through the door. We were escorted to a booth. Staff were friendly. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere pleasant. On my way to wash my hands, I got a glimpse into the kitchen. It looked clean and hopping with activity. The restroom was clean but looked like it needed updating. I ordered two scrambled eggs and two biscuits with gravy à la carte. The biscuits had an odd chewy texture. The gravy was just ok. I later confirmed with the waiter that they used frozen biscuits which may explain why they are chewy instead of light and fluffy. The eggs were good. Nice and scrambled. My wife got a Denver omelette with breakfast potatoes. She liked everything about her meal. My wife had coffee with her breakfast. At $4 a cup you would expect something special. It was average at best. We had to waive down a waiter to get a refill. As we were leaving, I noticed a sign outside stating that they have breakfast specials starting at $9.95 on Monday thru Friday until 11 am. I guess they need to give you a menu to get their specials. Our server did not share the specials with us. Service was a bit slow which was surprising since they were not that busy. read more

Ummmm pre-lunch, place was almost empty. (hint/sign) 2 out of five - It was a bad meal. *Lettuce was green AND too soft. I prefer Ice Lettuce but green should still have some crisp to it. *The menu said Steak fries, I got Shoe String and NOT well done as requested. I accepted the offer to bring me the Steak Fries well done however, the grease was dirty and they gave me the remnants of past deep fried food, (fries?) *Very low application of Mayonnaise making sandwich dry. *The tomatoes were too thick of a cut but it helped the dry sandwich. * The bacon (BLT) was crumbly/old low flavor. 1 piece was inserted in halves the 2nd piece was crumbled and sprinkled on. This venue used to be THE place to go(!) and the Biscuits & generous Gravy was award winning ... someone else can report on that. Cost me just under $20.00 w/tip... yes I still tipped. If the owner isn't an errant owner, he should spend time in there, improve things and contact local businesses to offer companies at least a -time 10% discount for their employees if they fill out a card with pre-determined questions about food, service & cleanliness with an emphasis on restrooms. My report only dealt with the food. I didn't use the restroom but the dining area was clean, employees busy even w/out customers to serve. As Bar Rescues' Jon Taffer would say, this is an owner's failure. I'll give it another 6 weeks and go back to check out their past famous Biscuits & Gravy. I WANT this place to work, it's a classic work of art type place to go!!! read more

I took my team for Holiday Breakfast and we had the best service. Days before our event I went to the website and let them know we were coming. Management reached out and confirmed and set expectations. We had plenty of help at the table and great options on the menu. Everyone was really happy with the food and experience. This will become our annual location moving forward. Great Country feel and relaxed location. read more

We came in today, Father's Day and we're expecting a wait but we're seated within 5 mins, we sat and waited as servers passed us and finally after 20mins they took our order, 40mins later after everyone who came in after us were served we got up and left. horrible service and on a side note we were the only Hispanics there so definitely would not recommend anyone to go. read more

Another visit to Arthers. The places is always busy but there is. Lot of room inside. The service was spot on again. Fast service. The food comes out hot and cooked as you ask. I tried the ham omelet and it was great. This has to be one of the best breakfast stops you have to try. They are great!! read more

Been coming to Arthur's for the last 30 years since I was a child. It's now under new ownership for the last couple years. Owner own Suzy's Cafe in Santa Ana. Everything has slowly changed since new owners took over. Prices have gone up, portions are smaller, food isn't as quality anymore. Today 5/27/26 got the big sampler platter w/biscuits and gravy. It was literally the same size as what an average breakfast plate was years ago. It used to be so huge you had to take half home. Now you get some gross dinner Italian sausage with it, mushy hot link. They no longer have those good polish hot links. Biscuits tasted off, kinda sweet, the amazing gravy was a bit more bland and not as flavorful. Super super salty bacon and ham. . I almost didn't even want to eat it as it was so strange tasting.. I always over eat and clean my plate and even eat the bowl of gravy by itself. I couldn't do I it was just not good at all.. Cutting corners for sure and new owners doing things different it's not the same as Arthur's once was. Employees are nice, but many are new faces to me and were loudly complaining about scheduling, complaining about other employees not showing up on time. Very bummed, this was me and my parents fav place to go for most my life but it's changed. Probably was my last time going. read more

So many ownership changes. They use to serve mimosas for breakfast. Then they stopped, apparently due to an ownership change. Then they put up signage that they now served mimosas. Now, we showed up and no more mimosas due to an ownership change. Food is still okay but the back and forth of ownership makes us wonder if they are on the way out permanently. So sad because this was our go to place for breakfast for 20+ years. read more

Lauren is an outstanding employee. She told us all the lore about Arthur and Suzy... lovers of past. Ooooh, the scandal! She also taught us how to reheat our biscuits when we get home. FYI, the beef Chilaquiles were the best I've ever eaten. I got the chips crispy and the hash browns blackened. Yum. We will be back! read more

We got here 15 minutes before closing and we were still warmly welcomed. Service was outstanding and so was the food. After we finished we found out they still make Orange Julius's and they offered to make us one. It was very good. My wife and I went to Downey High School together and spent many afternoons at Arthur's OJ which was nearby. read more

Comfort food breakfast. Arthur's has been serving it up for a long time and they have yet to disappoint. Don't come here looking for the latest craze of brunch goodies. Come with and empty belly and an appetite. Scratch made gravy is one of the best options. Service is always great and your coffee mug is never empty. read more

Went again today for the August breakfast meet-up with my buddy. The place we were trying to go to is closed on Tuesdays. Who knew? But just down the street is good old Arthurs. I know that service can be occasionally spotty (please see my other review) but for the most part, it's usually a good experience. This is just an update so no long-winded review. Went in, seated promptly. I got the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs; my friend got the Chicken and Waffles. Food was good, extra crispy on the CBH and potatoes as requested. It all came quickly, and the service was spot-on again today. A couple more good experiences like this and I'll bump it up to 5-stars. Just a fun staple of the community. Lots of little groups come in and it gives an old time, small town feel to the place. I hope that if you haven't been here that you decide to give it a try. Breakfast and lunch only, no desserts. read more

My boyfriend & I came on a Tuesday morning around 9:45am and we got sat right away and were even given preference if we wanted a booth in the back or front. I got the Loco's Hot Biscuit & my boyfriend got the Breakfast Burrito with red sauce. I also got a coffee and they had my favorite hazelnut creamer. Our food was great and served nice and hot. But it took me a year to find that out from the owners. Restaurant owners are so stuck up and anal, I know I was one. Gabbi, whom I have never seen, should spend a night or two watching her Restaurant closing up.

I moved to Orange County for a career with the Mouse over four years ago and on days off I am always on the lookout for special places outside of the hustle and bustle of the tourism district that I might be able to direct our guests to when they're looking for something unique and out of the way. Today I had the pleasure of finding one of those unique places in Orange, CA called "Arthur's". It's a weathered looking building just off of Tustin St., and as I've learned in SoCal, some of the greatest places to get some grub are those that are hidden gems. What's not hidden, however, is the large, worn sign along the street boasting its name. So keep a look out for that. The parking layout wraps around the entire building so you're never really all that far from the front door. Just be aware that this place is quite the local favorite on a weekday and might be busy on weekends. And above the front door you'll read the "Best Breakfast in Town" sign. Upon entry I was instantly greeted by a casually dressed woman who promptly sat me at a booth. On the menu, a few things are pointed out that Arthur's is "known" for. Their biscuits, coffee and eggs. So I decided I had to order up each of those things. My server was sweet and fast. Within moments of requesting their "Yuban" coffee, it was on the table with creamer and splenda, as requested. The coffee is outstanding. Some of the better coffee for a diner I've ever had and in a fairly large mug. I ended up downing three cups it was so tasty. The second I put down my menu (wide variety of selections) my server was back to take my order. She jotted it down, thanked me and was off to the kitchen. The restaurant itself has a legitimate "oakie" theme to it and the walls adorn tributes to the west. Overall the interior was clean and lit just right, complimented by the morning sun. My coffee mug was never empty, about half way gone I'd be approached by a roaming coffee mistress who'd cheerfully poor some more. Within 10 minutes a four-egg veggie omelet smothered in Swiss and American cheese with a mound of O'Brien potatoes and a basket of their famous biscuits landed on my table. "Be careful, sir. The plate is very hot!" my server warned. I was wondering how that could be possible since I couldn't even see the plate there was so much food! After tossing on some ketchup and pepper, I dug into one of the finest omelets I've ever had, mixing it with the potatoes, it was like a scrambler. Oh, and the biscuits were a little dose of tasty as well. They definitely have something special in those biscuits. And I gotta be honest, I'm a big guy who loves to put away a meal in front of me--but it didn't happen this time. There was so much I had to do what I hate--leave food on the plate and surrender. For how much food you get, I think it's an outstanding value. My entire bill was about $14, tax included. I was impressed. Arthur's will most definitely be on my "must-dine" list for tourists and a new favorite for myself. read more

Just went here on a whim while looking for a good breakfast place. The staff, Shelly in particular, were so nice to us it was unbelievable, and when they found out it was our first time they practically fell all over themselves to make sure we had a good time. The biscuits and gravy, which they graciously let us sample, were so outrageously good I found myself eating the gravy directly from the bowl and had to hide it to prevent glomming it all. When the actual food came - I opted for a 3 egg breakfast with sourdough toast and bacon - it was constructed to my exact specifications (the bacon in particular) and was so large I had to consult the Orange zoning board to figure out where to begin. It was nothing short of the best breakfast I'd ever had, topped off with excellet coffee that the enthusiastic staff ensured was constantly filled to overflowing. Others here complain about the price, for reasons I don't fully comprehend. You get enough food for three meals and the quality is so high the minor increase in price is more than justified. If you want pre frozen processed junk for $1.99 McDonald's and Dennys are in abundance and right down the road. If you want real, actual, good food prepared with care and served by an organisation thay truly knows their business and treats their customers with genuine care and consideration, come here. "The owner eats here?" That is the advertisement? Really?! They should come over so that my 8 year old can cook them a better breakfast. I should have looked closer at the Yelp reviews first. How odd that they repeat almost word for word, right? Makes me wonder if the owners gave employee incentive for disearnest reviews. Not really sure why anyone was in here unless they love the taste of disappointment. Food took for-ev-er to arrive and when in did, there was a pool of grease from what looked like microwaved cheese? No wonder the waitress looked disappointed when I asked for biscuits since they are obviously mass manufactured. Yellow flakes of some make butter junk. Sadly, the biscuits were the only thing I could choke down. We left hungry, despite the few bites of swallowed food sliding down to our stomachs on a grease chute. We were driving down tustin when we saw long line in front of arthurs. we thought "hey" why dont we try this place sinces there lots of people, then it must be good right? LMFAO.. Wrong we had gotten seated after 10 minutes. We understood that it was busy so we didnt mine the wait. As soon as we got seated, we had gotten our drinks orders in, but 5 minutes later the waiter came back to us again and forgot the drink orders, so we told her again and she FINALLY came back after another 5 minutes. We were way passed getting ready to order so we calmed ourselves and just waited. The waiter came to take our orders and put them in. 16 minutes later the food finally arrived. Arthur's Place is a must-visit for breakfast lovers! I stopped in this morning and ordered the Big Sampler--easily one of the best breakfast platters I've had in a long time. Everything was cooked perfectly, from the crispy bacon to the fluffy pancakes. The portion size was generous, so come hungry! A huge shoutout to my server, Christina, who was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure my coffee was always full. It's rare to find service this great these days, and she really made the experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back. G.," to remember when "Okie Is Spoken Here" tee shirts were sold at "Arthur's Family Restaurant" in Orange, California. I am glad that I have photographs from the days prior to the change-of-ownership. went there because we saw the "greatest breakfast in town" sign. Decided to give it a try. I ordered their omelette and had to return it because they forgot my sausage. To be honest, it was so so. I've had better breakfast in that area. Biscuits and gravy were undercooked and I know for a fact they use the canned pilsbury ones, because they have loads of coupons at their front counter for them. My friend liked his food though, because his plate was licked clean. I took half of mine home. Overall 3 stars....will go there only as a last resort. read more

Fantastic breakfast spot, haven't had to wait long to be seated. It's always crowded but there is always enough staff to be taken care of. Kids always get crayons to draw, decor is always updated for the season. Food is good, but I go for the service and family feel of the place. Don't go if you don't want to be bothered. This is a place where the staff strikes up a conversation with you. It's my go to breakfast spot. I'd give it a five star but the prices are a tad higher than they should be for the simply good diner food. read more

Let just say that I won't be making another trip here...The food was not all that great...first off...this place was suppose to be known for its biscuits and gravy...I think whom ever made it famous must have been drunk or something because their biscuit was raw in the middle...it seems as if it was made from one of those pillsbury canister...I also had their chicken fried steak...not good...potatoes were mushy and onions were uncooked...but their gravy was okay...I am more of a sausage person read more

Good food. Friendly people. We usually sit with Mary. She brings us Biscuits and gravy right away and we don't even ask. I always get a glass of champagne and my glass never gets empty mary is always there to fill it up. I didn't know they did bottomless champagne. We love coming here. The prices are a little higher than we would like but it's a great place to come. read more

I went here a couple of days ago, and the service was so bad. It took 15 minutes for someone to come to the front and see people waiting there. Also, it took 45 minutes with waiters walking pass you, just get something to drink. I do not recommend this place to anybody unless they got rid of the employees and made it better with people who are willing to work. read more

The sign was posted "Best Breakfast in Town" Are they kidding? Had their famous biscuit & gravy...not impressed. Gravy was made with bacon. Made it too salty. Biscuit: From a can. Stopped by for breakfast yesterday. Decor is a little antiquaited but okay. Service was quick and the food was very good. Though a bit on the pricey side you do get plenty of food. had the sausage link,eggs,potatoes and toast with a medium oj. Again very tasty but around 13.00 and change not including tax and gratuity. I have been meeting people at Arthur's for breakfast meetings for years. While the food is not the best, the environment and the service make it worthwhile. Great place to meet up with someone and spend some time just talking. Easy to get in and out within a reasonable amount of time. I've never had to wait for a table. read more
