My nails came out okay I just did funny bunny dip on shorter almond nails. My pedicure however hurt so bad. The lady working on me had no gloves on or a mask and didn't really ask me anything, just started. She didn't ask what pedicure I wanted until 20 mins in and instead of making the tray look nice she just brought everything over in its packaging and was opening it all and then throwing the trash in the water my feet were soaking in. My mani was fast, I was with my sister and we were both done in 30 mins. But my pedicure took almost and hour and a half. She had no routine down. I did gel and she would start and then stop and walk off. Come back and do whatever else next. At one point she rubbed a lemon on my foot and then threw it in the water. Her thumb nail was so long that she would scrape polish off of the sides of my nail and it hurt like hell. She filed my nails down so hard that my skin is raw on the top of it. My nails are all crooked and the massage I was supposed to receive she dumped oil on me and smacked on lotion on 1 foot and rubbed me for 2 mins and then forgot about the other foot. I guess the salon ran out of hot towels because she came back with one and hot wrapped my one foot and then dry rubbed my other foot with a towel from the bottom of her cart. I'm sorry this is so long but I really don't want anyone else to go through this. When we went to pay I spoke up and asked for a discount, explained what happened and he got down and checked my feet. I told him I didn't even know if I had a top coat on but I have a light at home and can fix it. The best he could do was wave the price of my gel on my toes which I get but I'm also a little annoyed he couldn't comp the whole pedicure.

The salon itself is very clean, relaxing and has great customer service. Tien took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and helped me pick out the perfect dip powder colors. She then meticulously applied each layer, shaping and filing my nails into a beautiful almond shape. I am so impressed by how natural yet glamorous my nails look! The dip process took a bit longer than a regular manicure but it was well worth it for long-lasting nails that look like gel polish. Tien's attention to detail is unmatched. My cuticles and nails look healthy and the dip application is completely smooth without any lumps or bumps. I highly recommend requesting Tien if you want an amazing dip manicure that will last for 3 weeks without chipping or cracking. She really takes pride in her work and it shows through the results. Ben gave me a great manicure about three weeks ago and unfortunately wasn't available this week, so Tran took my appointment request. Like numerous salons in the area, a positive experience lies in the technician and less about the salon itself. If your not sure on what you need but you have an idea of what your end results should look like, Makes sure your communicate that effectively before your appointment begins. Not every technician at this salon is skilled and there are numerous customers serviced daily so they get pretty busy. If you are visiting for the first time, it may require a few visits with trial and era to identify the best technician for you. So beware. The water for the pedicure bowls rarely gets nice and warm, so if that's your preference, beware. Inquire on exact pricing for all details of your service... as other reviewers have mentioned addtl charges for this and that are not clearly disclosed.... ie clipping cuticles vs just pushing them back. I will continue to patronize this salon and give them a few more opportunities before labeling them as "consistent", but I wanted to provide feedback on my recent positive experience to balance previous visits which have not been so favorable. Over communicate, inquire on pricing and once you identify a technician that works for you, stick with that person. This is not a salon where "anyone" will suffice.

She has been providing excellent personal service for my hands and feet. I am a very particular client but Vivian always takes care of those particulars with a smile and a great sense of humor. She speaks exceptional English so that goes a long way for me as well. She also teaches me essential Vietnamese phrases that go a long way in our polite society. Pictures show what I prefer- a more natural and practical mani/pedi, but Vivian is an artist and is often requested by fellow techs to create designs for their clients. So if you choose go to Onyx in Highland Village ask for Vivian and be sure to tip her very well- as her kind of care is actually priceless.

First time visiting and most likely last…read more.. Uneven gel + bubbles on multiple nails. Paid extra to get my cuticles worked on... didn't realize that entailed bleeding and bruised nail beds. Multiple times the technician zoned out and forgot about the UV lamp used to cure the individual nails & burned my nails (not one of the UV lights that are on a timer for the whole hand).
