This place is not what it used to be. I'm so disappointed, I have been coming here for so long and a lot has changed. They are under new management and majority of the staff are new. I will not be returning because all my favorite staff are gone and my nails aren't done the way I like. The last time I was in there and I had the owner do my nails and she messed them up. -5 stars. Horrible customer service. I watched the manager / owner / whatever yell in the face of a young girl and basically hold her hostage for "not paying" while her card was in the machine. Everyone in the salon heard the whole thing because she's literally screaming at this girl the entire time: but her nails were 5 days old & 2 of them broke off. She was told if anything happens to them within 7 days then they would replace them- but because it was "her fault" they broke, the salon couldn't have anything coming out of their pocket to fix it. So shallow of this woman to embarrass the girl like that in front of so many people. I've never received a good enough set of nails at this place to support someone like that any longer. And after exchanging looks around the room, I would bet mine isn't the only business they'll be losing. Just dishonest work, and greedy ownership & management. read more

Quality is always great. Prices are high and you may be tricked into additional costs if you don't read their pricing and just say "yes" to the nail tech when they ask a question. Many of their questions are upgraded services. So it kinda feels like you're getting conned, but you also need to just read their fine print. read more

I went here today and I'm so disappointed. I have still been a loyal customer even though they have new owners and I called and asked for Jan who does a great job on my nails. She no longer works there. I was assured they would do a good job on my dip nails but I was sadly wrong. He had my nails too square and I tried to explain that I needed the corners rounded. He exploded! I asked. I'm not understanding why you're so angry I just need them shaped a little more and rounded. He continued to blow up at me. I asked for the front desk person (the owner wasn't there today) to come over and she tried to help and say oh he not angry but obviously! He was! So weird and uncomfortable to which she later when I checked out apologized for him. So he angrily shaped my nails and huffed and puffed. It was so uncomfortable! I didn't dare say anything else! So now I'm left with nails longer than the other! And uneven work. It's terrible. I took my son with me for a pedi and nails. I've been a loyal customer but I will not be back. It's sad the place has gone downhill. Unfortunately one person ruined it for us even though the sweet ladies took care of my son so well and my pedicure was good. I made sure to tip them well. I went in and got my nails done by Michael. I love having my nails done but I hate getting them done because I have extremely thin skin around my nails and I always end up getting cut. But not with Michael. I love my nails, seriously he is the best person to ever do them. I went to Legacy nails spa to get my nails done and I was not a fan of the service. being that it is close to grocery stores that I go to I thought it would be a great place to try however I was disappointed in the service and the way they treated my nails. I got dip powder which is usually very easy to come off when using foil or filing it off however at the nail tech set off my dip powder with an acrylic nail and it was quite painful and my nails are still a little bit in pain (1-2 hours after leaving.) I think that my nails look good other than the pain that they went through but I will not be coming back. read more

I thought I'd try dip nails.... these nails lasted about a week before they started chipping and falling apart I barely tapped my finger on a cardboard box and my index finger nail chipped and then I was putting on socks and my ring finger chipped like these are not nail chipping activities I got them done a little over a week ago I expect them to hold up a little bit better. Legacy is a cute (and friendly) nail salon right between Sprouts & TMobile, in the new shopping center at the intersection of Hickory Creek. I had been searching for a salon by our new home on yelp, but most of the places had bad reviews so I refrained from going anywhere! Then I visited Sprouts for some groceries and saw this cute little gem. Double checked their yelp to find they didn't have one! EEP! Time for some "investigative work" by a yelp elite, right?! So I walked up to the door, then noticed I only had an hour before closing, so I walked in to see if they had time. The sweet lady at the front was so helpful in choosing colors for my gel color, and offering a mani on top of the gel fill. Some places do them all together for $x but this place charges $25 for a gel fill, or an extra $16 for a mani/massage too. HOWEVER, they have a new member card with $5 off any $35 purchase that they can give you at check out, AND you can reuse it over and over! Jump to the fill and mani, both were excellent! They put these strange lotioned gloves on your hands that don't have fingertips on them, so the lotion soaks in while they are doing the fill.. genius! As for the drink options, which is one thing I was missing in Denton compared to my previous nail salon in Richardson: THEY HAVE TONS HERE! Wine , white wine , water , soda , AND MIXED DRINKS ! I had a vodka cranberry from their drink menu, but I think they also had margaritas, and maaaybe one other option. read more

Legacy Nails in DENTON on Teasley Road is where I've been going for a couple of years and just love the place and staff.....until today. I called to make an appt with Wendy for a Pedicure for Thursday. The appt was made and 10 mins. later the Mang called me back to say that Wendy cancelled the appt and will NOT see me anymore! I was shocked to say the least. I asked why and the Mang said that she said I made negative comments about her work on the last visit. That's NOT true....it's a lie in fact. I've always complimented the work, thanked them up and down, leave a tip, and on my way. Why would I call back to make another appt if I wasn't happy? I don't even know if the owner is aware of this. It really hurt me on a personal level, and now I can't go there. She has either made this lie up, or has me mixed up with another customer. It's just wrong, and now I have to find another place to do business with, when I was so happy to go there. These people are calling bad judgement on the issue. I came into the salon asking for white gel on my toes and white dip on my fingernails. I was basically done with my nails and asked the tech if there was to be another coat, because the color was so light. She said no, that's the way the polish looks. She said she gave me muted white instead of white white. My toes were white white and not muted white. When I asked if I could get a new dip on my fingers, the original white white that I wanted, she said they don't carry that. She then painted over the dip with gel white white. Then I got my receipt and I was charged for the dip which was not what I asked for and the gel. I called the owner who said I should've asked for white white and I wouldn't have been charged for both. The mistake was on the salons end and then I paid and extra $40 for their mistake. Then after taking to the owner, he did verify that they do indeed carry white white dip. Seems like someone didn't want to undo and redo their work. I've only done my nails white for the past 10 years and have never had any salon give me muted white. A $40 mistake that the salon made and then charged me for. The nails don't look that great either. I mean they aren't bad, but not great. They look uneven, chunky, and the shape of each nail isn't uniform. I don't recommend, not even in the slightest. I wouldn't have posted this review if the owner would've taken ownership of this mistake and didn't charge me an extra $40. Just go somewhere else, the metroplex is full of other salons. oh and I still tipped the tech, because I'm decent. read more

Best neck and shoulder massage around for the price. However, I always feel pressured into adding more services or upgrading to a more expensive manicure. Today made me decide not to go back. I get dip. I was there three to four days ago, and three nails have already chipped. I was charged full price to redo them after only 3-4 days. I'm there religiously every 2 weeks and sometimes more often if I stagger my services over multiple visits. I really don't think I should have been charged the full price after only a few days. Ok this is gonna be a book because Im highly pissed off with this place! Unless you're rich and simply don't care how much you spend on a manicure/pedicure...DO NOT COME HERE! I've actually been coming here for a little over a year and thought it was a great place...until today. My step daughter, her Mom, and myself came to get our nails done. When we walked in, I very clearly stated that my step daughter was wanting just the basic acrylic nails and a paint color. Her Mom stated that she wanted the same. The lady, who I assume to be the manager, pointed to the group of nail sticks on the counter and told them to pick a color which I thought was a little strange because normally when we've gotten a paint in the past we would just grab a nail polish off of one of the shelves on the wall. But we didn't think anything of it. As for me, I showed them a picture, from their own menu, of what I wanted which was also the basic acrylic nails but I wanted the clear natural look where the tips are little transparent and the rest of the nails are a very light shade of pink. She then had all 3 of us sit down at a nail table next to each other and I showed the guy who was doing my nails the same picture. And he and the manager said something to each other in Chinese and he left to go get his box of nail stuff. The majority of the time we were there I wasn't really paying attention to nails my step daughter and her Mom were getting because I was watching a show on my phone. It wasnt until my guy started dipping my nails in dip powder that I was thinking "wait a minute, I didnt ask for the dip." Then I looked over at the tables my step daughter and her Mom were sitting at and saw that they were not only getting there nails dipped as well but I saw that they had gotten the stiletto shape to their nails which they later told me they were both talked in to. Now I dont know anything about stiletto nails but i do know that the dipping method is more expensive and I started to get upset because none of us asked for that. And then when my nails were done I took one look at them and was again upset because the entire color of my nails were light pink. Did not have the transparent tips like i asked...LIKE I SHOWED THEM IN THE PICTURE! But I didn't want to create a scene so I calmly went to the front to pay for our nails and guess what...the total was $135!!!! When i asked why it was so much, the lady told me because of the powder and because they were given the stiletto nails. Wait...so you're telling me that we were charged extra just because of the way their nails were shaped?? Shaping of the nails should be included whether its square, almond, or stiletto. And again...none of asked for the dip and when I asked her why weren't we given the polish instead of the dip she said "Dip lasts longer...polish chip easy and dont last long." I don't give a damn! If we didn't ask for the dip, don't just take it upon yourself to give it to us. Again not wanting to cause a scene, cause I was fuming at this point, i just paid the tab and walked out. When we all got in the car I started venting to my step daughter and her Mom and they were shocked because they had no idea and didn't realize what they were being talked in to. So all this being said, do yourself a favor and find another nail salon. One that's not ridiculously overpriced, where they aren't greedy for money, and don't trick their customers in to getting services they didn't ask for. This place definitely just lost me as a customer for good! read more

I love coming to Legacy, this is the only place I'll go for manicures/pedicures. I try to make an appointment because they're usually very busy (which is a good sign I think) so I would recommend calling ahead if you can. If I walk-in I generally don't have to wait very long and they always check in to give updates. At this point I've been coming at least 4+ years and I've never worked with anyone who wasn't awesome. Their prices are fair and they have customer loyalty perks which I really appreciate.
