My new favorite thrift store!! Employees are all SO nice. They give back to the community. They have restrooms. They have a dressing room. They also have great color tag sales. I got a GREAT vintage 60s/70s arched mirror for only $10. I almost snagged a vintage MCM oak wood bed for $1.20 (red tags were $1.20 that day) before someone snagged it literally minutes before I could get a tag for it. I also got a beautiful vintage lace dress for $10 that I will be wearing to a wedding after alterations. All in all great thrift store & prices are more than fair! read more

Great deals on baby clothes! Most were 49-69cents. I got 13 items for $8, items are in great shape. My only complaint would be that it would be easier if the baby clothes were arranged by gender. read more

I came upon a leather jacket with no price tag. I took it to the front register and the associate said let ask my manager what the price is. The manager came up with this BOGUS price of $49.99, I'm like whoa! I'm said are you sure? She replied with an "attitude" saying yes because it's leather! I showed her the ripped liner inside, she's continued with her rudeness attitude saying...."I TOLD YOU! It's $49.99"!!!! My complaint: I don't like her rudeness! If bait and switch is what your looking for come on down to be bamboozled. When in one day saw a sofa set for a certain price, and the waited a day and they raised the price, you can see the price tag the 3, and 5 went to 8. When asking the manager they said sorry no one wanted it so we raised the price, and sorry we won't change it tough luck. I won't be coming back here again. read more

Great thrift store. Staff is very friendly. Restrooms and the place is clean. Store is huge! Lots of selection! Prices are super affordable. Was able to score a leather dress for $7.99 that retails for $600 at Nordstrom. Can't beat that! You just have to be patient combing through the racks which seem endless. Will be back! read more

Great place for used furniture. A tad over priced but try and strike a deal with the manager. They are pretty reasonable.

I've gotten lucky with some furniture items here but otherwise it's really hit or miss whether you find something worth buying and if it's worth the price. They're a great charity so they deserve some stars for that and their book section is fantastic. read more

This place had a decent amount of items. Mostly women things. However, I found some jeans and flannels for guys. yay. Hm, they have one medium size room dedicated to books. The inside is pretty dusty like other thrift stores. But take your time looking you might find something. Pricing was okay. They had this tag discount like 50% off yellow tags..something like that. This store is clean and the staff is helpful. Found fabulous deals on career separates and formal wear. The formal wear was corture and new. The staff explained how the stores sales work, which was very helpful. The Long Beach location does have dressing rooms. BTW, the bathrooms are new and clean. I will shop here from now on. read more

Huge amount of options of everything here. I am in love with their book library. Usually I go here just for the books. I have gotten soft cover children's books for just $.50. They also have a huge variety of clothing. That staff is also very helpful! read more

They refused my sofa, love seat and bed frame. I didn't bother to show them my refrigerator. None of my items were more than 1.5 years old and my refrigerator was one year old. All were the wrong size for my apartment. I contacted Habitat for Humanity 《Restore), and they wanted photos before they would schedule the pick up. I begrudgingly sent them. They came in and took everything! I was over-joyed. Whatever happened to good faith charity donations ? I don't know. I have previously donated to and made purchases from St. Vincent De Paul. I have also previously donated money, large appliances and volunteered with Habitat on their building projects. They (Habitat) does not accept items that are un-sellable. SVP really let me down this time. Also, I noticed they accepted items from my neighbor, who was moving - without an appointment. U found that to be very unusual, as I had to book my appointment a week ahead and SVP would not make an exception.. I believe the SVP drivers were put off because I have my late Mother's service dog. She is 75-80 lbs. She is big and beautiful. She didn't bark once when SVP was here. She slept the entire time when Habitat was here. You live and you learn. I would be happy to share my pictures and receipts for purchases of the items Habitat accepted. read more

This is a nice, new addition to the thrift store tour. They have a great furniture section waaaaaay in the back with good prices. This store lacks much of the ghetto charm that I prefer in my thrift store shopping experience, but that's okay 'cause that allows it to get tons of points on cleanliness and orderliness. Seriously, it's one of the most well-organized, clean thrift stores I have ever stepped foot in. And kudos to whoever is setting the pricing--they actually have low THRIFT store prices! Parking in the back and they even take debit cards (and I would guess credit, as well). Happy shopping! read more

What a HUGE store !!! I was in clothes heaven !!! There is so much to look at!! Nice bright well lit and clean store too. The only draw back was no dressing room - the nice security guard was kind enough to let me "crouch" behind the bridal mannequin so eloquently posed and "quickly" try on some jean skirts behind HER huge skirt! It was like out of a bad comedy movie (has my life been anything BUT???? ha ha!) the Security Guard he just laughed and said smiling "you're crazy woman" !! I replied "hey great store, great music (some 1970's funk was playing) AND I can actually try the skirts on!! What more could one one want today??" Actually it made it even FUNNIER!!) I just crouched behind her skirt and did my try ons! Sometimes you just "can't care who's looking" They had a beautiful Chinese lacquer cabinet at the back in great condition - it was an amazing piece the rest of the furniture looked in good condition - certainly not junky or dirty/falling apart. Overall the store was clean and organized. It looked like something is in there for everyone. A nice array of stuff and sizes. Also a nice patio area out back to wait for friends and loved ones while they finish shopping. I will be back !!!! read more

I went to this thrift store to check out its book room and found only two books since it was mostly old encyclopedia collections. The store had two racks of Forever 21 new sweaters, and I found a red cardigan I've been looking for. I got a few other things like a mosaic glass candle vases, but the store seems smaller than it is. Like there were gaps in the racks and on the bookshelves, so maybe putting stuff out that day was slow. Also, the prices are better at the LA location. read more

I used to shop here a lot in 2010 and 2011. I only go now when I reeeeaaallly need something otherwise I go somewhere else. Many items are over priced...like their CD's. Not music CD's but USED, educational games for a desk top computer. Some of these games are from 1998 or 2000! Why are these $4.99??? Seriously ? I can see if it were something for a Playstation but no...old, used compact discs. Bleh! One thing I can appreciate are their book prices. read more

Surprisingly good for a St. Vincent de Paul store. Clean, lots of selection. I was so impressed- it even had a clean restroom so I could shop longer. Why don't other thrift stores provide this? The nice fellow in the book area helped me find a book and gave a helpful suggestion as to where to find some they didn't have. On the down side: it was not posted that some items are not discounted by the color tags. A sign could be posted by those items on which discounts don't apply (like CDs). I dislike any price drama at the counter. Staff was too involved in personal conversation about lunch and woman ringing up my purchase seemed impatient and annoyed to leave the conversation long enough to do her job. read more

It takes a lot of patience to find something fashionable here, but you're bound to find SOMETHING. And it'll definitely be cheap and affordable. I shop here all the time to find tops to wear. I wouldn't recommend coming here to buy dresses or skirts, but if you're just looking for tops, then I'd suggest this place. :) read more

What... is... that... smell? Is it just me or do all thrift stores have that exact same, face crinkling, dusty, old, musty, grandpa's sock drawer smell? It hits you square in the face when you walk in, but then it mysteriously goes away (as long as you don't directly sniff anything). Now, I don't mind the smell of old books and I usually spend the majority of my time in the book room (just to the right of the entrance). My husband loves Stephen King novels (don't ask me why) and he was as happy as a clam to grab five novels for five bucks total. I like that this store is relatively seasonal with it's decor and items. There's a back room that it seems like other reviewers are missing where all the tchotchkes are hiding. It's also a great place to find a pair of crutches if you, you know, ever break a leg or something. You really have to go often if you want to see new things. It's a good, but not great thrift store. read more

Spaces, clean, and well kept. prices are reasonable. Good selection of clothing and booking. Small back parking; can barely park in the tight space provided..I'm Asian but sometime there are too many car in that parking lot; someone car will get dent. This thrift store is in my top 5 for Long Beach. Really great. They have new clothing sometimes. Huge selection of clothes for women. The men side is smaller. The bathrooms are very clean. Good selection of furniture. They have amazing deals that change everyday. So there is always way to get something for less. read more

not bad for a thrift store. st. vincent de paul is like a goodwill, but much bigger, with a wider selection of clothing as well as furniture and household items (the latter hidden in the back, which you can only get to through a doorway on the far right of the store) than can be found at the goodwill around the corner. it's clean and a good resource if you're looking for material for an art project or just looking for cheap finds. cheaper than the shops on 4th st., though you have to dig around more. one man's trash is another man's treasure... read more

This store had a couple of decent items but nothing great for the price. On top of that, already had poor impressions walking in. I don't expect a lot out of these places but there were negative impressions right away. People sit there and watch you like you want to steal that overpriced crap. Not only that, I asked for a bathroom key and instead of saying something like "you can bring it back to this counter when you're done", they just said "and don't forget to bring it back". 2 minutes later the security or whoever started banging on the door to let an old lady in, only key apparently, and kept banging while I was still going to the bathroom. I let them in and the security told me that she'll take the key. Needless to say, I will mot be buying that picture i was going to buy or giving my money ever to that place. Go to the American Cancer Society one on 2nd, better stuff, nice volunteers for a good cause. read more

I love this place! It is the best thrift shop I have ever been to! They have everything organized and the workers are helpful. They have so much to look at- plan on being there for at least a hour or more. You can find some really good deals here! Everyday they have different specials going on. With a thrift store that has a book ROOM, this translated into , "you have died and gone to book heaven!"
