This thrift store is a little hidden but a gem all the same. It seems small but bigger when you actually go in. I like how they have ongoing sales throughout the week: yellow tags 25% off, green 50% off, red 75% off. You can bring in the coupon from Valpak mailer or print out online for an extra 40% off full price items. The store is well organized with plenty of selection for women and men and a smaller selection for kids/babies. Furniture, shoes, accessories, kitchenware available as well. read more

While I sort of like this thrift store, the prices have seriously gone up! Nothing is sized with the clothes, so you have to search through everything. The staff is friendly, but took me a good 15 minutes to pay for my one item. It's pretty organized, clean, and the shift in items just depends on the donations. This is a very hidden place for a thrift store. If you don't be careful, you will pass right by. Once you get here, there's a good amount of parking and then make your way inside. I agree with some of the other reviewers that this thrift shop is pretty hidden, and on the GPS, it can come up pretty quickly if you're not looking. When you enter the parking lot, it's got a decent amount of parking. When you enter the store, it seems like the building is a bit outdated, reminded me of a Ross. Staff greeted me; they seemed friendly. There is a clearance rack at the front. Things are decently organized with sections, but items are not organized by size or color. I noticed there was a lot of the same kinds of clothing. For example, I noticed there was a lot of Old Navy clothing (some with the Old Navy brand cut off) and others were printed on the shirts. They looked clearly new, and seemed to be what you would expect to pay for the sales price at Old Navy, which I found to be a bit silly. Even if the items are new and now at a thrift shop, I'm expecting to pay less than the new retail price. I saw some new looking tops for anywhere between $8-$12, which is priced a bit higher than I would expect. This was a pattern throughout the store. For items that appeared to be donated, they were clearly priced more reasonably, but I didn't find as many recognizable brand names as I did at other places. Overall, I felt like this thrift shop was not as curated as some of the other ones in the area, not as much variety, and a bit overpriced for the offerings. read more

I donate to this thrift store often and when i do go inside, i end up leaving with some great finds! Their discount clothing rack is really great - i was able to purchase lightly used short sleeve tops / shorts/ workout gear for less than $5 each! They also have a dressing room - which is not always monitored but just clean up after yourself :) They have a great selection of men's, women's and children's clothing! Many great finds at this location. I appreciate that St Vincent de Paul has other chapters within CCC that help out our community in need with food, rental assistance, clothing for folks that are unhoused, and offer jobs to our senior citizens. Went there with 7mins to spare before they close and the doors were locked. When I asked why they were closed when it wasn't 6pm, she said that one of the workers said that it was enough so they locked the doors and don't let people in. Closes at 6pm, 5:55pm, 5:45pm? I have been donating to this Thrift Shop for years. I have also shopped at this thrift shop for years. Recently trying to donate the staff has become very "picky" as to what they will accept. The person accepting donations questioned my donations of 2026 calendars and greeting cards, fall table decorations. Apparently St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop has turned into a Boutique. The minute I walked into the store, I wasn't greeted by anyone. They seen me but couldn't be bothered. Trying to get someone's attention was annoying. When I finally did, I asked my question, which needed 5 different people to come out to answer my question. They told me no to using my coupon, ok. But their delivery was disgusting. As far as the store, it was tidy, and I did find a lot of nice items. I would have bought more if they would accommodate my coupon (was unable to print the PH coupon). instead of helping me, they pulled their phone up to show me their coupon. That was so much help. I like this store but seem to always be driving by after they've closed. I got lucky the other afternoon at lunch time and decided to check out the sale items they had out front. It was all winter-wear, including jackets, long sleeves, and sweat shirts. Everything was marked to $4 and I found several like-new items that were really great. Checked out some jewelry inside while I waited in line and found the one piece that I thought was worth what they were asking for it. It was a braided bracelet with a charm that said love on it, exactly the type that you can find in Mexico for about $1. This thrift store is just okay. I used to come here years ago and I had the chance to pay a visit today. It's not as cheap as Goodwill and they don't have as much inventory. I did see a bunch of name brand jeans: 7 for All Mankind, Paige, True Religion, Diesel etc. All priced $10 and under which is not bad. There was a Christian Dior Raincoat here that they were selling for $125, still not cheap. If they have any designer items they sell it similar to consignment prices. I find that they clothing they sell is more for older generations. It's a thrift store so you never really know what you'll find. read more

After months of having to slow down for people turning right into the SVDPS parking lot, I decided to brave it. This place is packed, it seems, almost the entire time the doors open until they close. Obviously, I was curious. The merchandise is typical of a thrift store, but the employees are not. So much for the kind, chatty, elderly little old ladies! The majority of my experiences with the employees here were curt. You know, SVDPS employees aren't paid on commission, but it wouldn't hurt them to be a little more friendly. read more

I've stopped donating here because the guy in the lot wanted to go through everything and "cherry pick" stuff from my donation bag. Unlike Rescued Treasures or Goodwill in Plesant HIll where they go through the stuff *after you are gone*, sell what they can and put the rest in the dumpster in the back. I really don't want to standing there in the hot sun while he decides what is "worthy" of being donated. And he wasn't even very polite about it. Here's the rundown: 1) prices depend on the cashier [also, maybe how you dress?]; and 2) this place really is a hit or miss; don't come in looking for something specific. QUALITY OF INVENTORY: The location of this thrift store is definitely better than say, Oakland--bordering some upper-crust neighborhoods, a lot of their inventory comes from wealthy older residents (aka Talbots). That doesn't mean that you don't get a lot of overpriced junk here, though. You really have to sift through a lot to find something good. MY BEST FINDS: I generally avoid the clothes, since most of them are for older individuals--but the prices are decent. I picked up a $4 wool skirt from a brand generally in the $100's, and a couple calfskin leather belts from designer brands for $3. But those are relatively rare finds; it takes a good eye and a whole lot of luck. PRICING: VERY subjective for non-clothing items, but completely brand-blind (i.e. all belts are $3, regardless if it's Prada or Target). most items of clothing are under $10, except for dresses, 'clothes in better condition', and coats/leather jackets. most other items don't have prices, leaving it entirely up to the cashier. They have a tub of fabrics, which I use as muslin--unless that mean old woman charges me $5 a yard. FITTING ROOM? Yes. One fitting room with a mirror. Pretty new addition. SALES TEAM: All the cashiers are civil if not friendly, EXCEPT for one old, rude caucasian woman--who happens to love making up ridiculous prices and ignoring their pricing standards. Fabric is sold $1 a yard--I wanted to buy maybe a yard and a half of fabric. She looks at it and says "OK, SIX BUCKS" I come in another time trying to buy HALF of an old curtain set--she accused me of lying, insisting it was a table cloth. When she realized it wasn't, "FINE, TEN DOLLARS". Christ lady, you're not selling gold, I'm just buying scraps to play around with. BOTTOM LINE: I think every negative reviewer had that same naggy old caucasian lady who makes up prices and gives you the stink eye--they really should post a schedule of when she works, so I know when not to come. Subjective pricing aside, you can always find a few gems here and there from wealthy donors. read more

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I find this store to be well organized, clean, and the prices generally well marked. I've gotten some great bargains here. I got a whole set of silverware for $3, a ton of greeting cards/envelopes for $1.20 (cute ones too that I would have paid full price for, and other various kitchen things, all at good prices. The two lady employees I spoke to were very helpful and friendly and gave me a couple of nice discounts. I would even say that this is as nice or nice than the Sal Val down the street and far nicer than the Goodwill which is kind of nasty.
