    So Cal Bowl

best breakfast i've had in north jersey. I ordered the socal bowl, it was delicious. This place can be packed but we didn't wait longer than 25 minutes to get seated. The staff is personal and fun. They will always fill up your coffee. Overall great experience, i will be back

The Stack/Peanut Butter Pancakes: These flapjacks were packed with peanut butter chips; they were so tasty I finished them in a "Jif"

Food was decent. Nothing really stood out to me. Eggs were regular pancakes were good. Service was good. We were able to get seated fairly quickly despite it being busy. The only downside was that it seems they were trying to rush me and my friend to eat and go . Ambiance seems to be pretty chill and decent.

Never disappoints! The place, the food, the service, everything is amazing! My family and I have been coming here for years! It's our favorite place! Rare gem, family oriented owned and operated. The environment is very friendly, and welcoming, I am a regular!

Been coming here for years. Great breakfast lunch and dinners. Friendly staff and on site parking. Brand new outside dining area enclosed for group events. I have eaten everything on the menu except liver! All good fresh and tasty.

Wait time: 10/10 Service: 4/10 Food: 6/10 Ambience: loud, family friendly, Price point: 3/10 Would you return: possible but not for breakfast Home potatoes with no seasoning, onions or peppers, just sliced potatoes slapped on a grill. The eggs over medium were actually good. The Taylor ham was salty. The western omelette was ok and the pancakes (buttermilk and pecan) were just o and k. Quality was definitely not worth the cost for the breakfast items. Also they got my order wrong twice. I had heard good things about this place but unfortunately I was not a fan of the breakfast service.

Came Saturday around 2pm and was pleasantly surprised that it had open tables and no wait. -Service: Diane was very friendly and personable. Food came out very fast- the fastest ever for a diner. It was def less than 10minutes. -Food: -grilled chicken sandwich: no grill marks nor accompanying grill flavor but juicy and decent amount of chicken. -philly cheesesteak: waitress said the meat was house-made. Very good. Served in soft, toasted bread. -classic gyro: a little oily. Good amount of meat. Could have used a bit more onion for flavor. -accompanying side fries: disappointed as they were pretty soaked in oil so I couldn't eat them -banana and chocolate chip pancakes: stack of 5. Soft but cooked through. Excellent! Really hit the spot! Overall, very good food in terms of flavor and portions and excellent service. Look forward to returning.

Quick service! Came around 11 on a Saturday morning and expected a line but we were seated right away. The restaurant has a huge seating area on both sides of the restaurant. They also offer outside seating. Some tables come with a clear barrier screening unless you are sitting in the middle of the room. Food I ordered: Pancakes and bacon: 6.5/10: their batter was underwhelming. It was more savory then sweet. Huge portions (5-6 pancakes) which is a plus! Hash Browns: 9/10; greasy but very tasty The food is very affordable and huge portions are given. Definitely come hungry!! Parking is a bit tricky though so beware.

The Hungry Man Breakfast and 2 Egg Breakfast
    Robert C.

The Hungry Man came with pancakes, sausage bacon, home fries and toast. Eggs had onions and goat cheese added to it for my pleasure. The egg breakfast was basic but good. The waitress was very friendly and intuitive. The restaurant felt but a diner but very quaint. Outdoor sitting available with view of the Passaic River.

Mexican omelette and my side of French toast.

Here we are. The fastest day off the week is here. It's Sunday and our new family Sunday routine is getting breakfast. Today's adventure brings us to "The Stack" officially Stack Pancake and Steak House. I call the order in and our orders usually aren't that simple since there's five of us and the woman says.... "Ok, give us five minutes". I actually even had to say.. "Wait, did you say five minutes?". Wow. Awesome. Throw on my shoes, make sure I have a mask and I'm already running out the door. I arrive there and there was a couple eating on the side on the picnic tables. Awesome view of normalcy. Being that I only live five blocks away, I arrived in three minutes. Owners were great. Offered me something to drink while I waited. As promised, two minutes later, our food was ready. That's right.... Five minutes was spot on. I ordered the Mexican omelette (jalapenos, cheddar, onions and side of salsa). I subbed French toast for the regular toast. My wife got the bacon and American cheese omelette. All three boys had Belgium waffles and sides for them consisted of an order of bacon, sausage and of course fries for PBIII (our youngest). Mexican omelette..... It was average. I've only been here one but barely remember it. It's basically a diner. Which obviously isn't a bad thing but you need to be mentally prepared for diner fare. French toast I was kind of let down with. I was actually excited about getting French toast but the feeling from the toast wasn't mutual. My wife said the bacon and cheese omelette was very bland. She opted with a side of pancakes and dismissed it as blase. I tried a piece of my son's Belgium waffle and that was pretty good. I'm thinking I should've got some bananas and strawberries and that would've been one hell of a waffle. The sausage was very good as well. Two good sized links and pretty tasty. Fries were basic fries. Bottom line is the service is excellent. Looking for a quick breakfast while staying locally? The Stack is a very good option. Reasonably priced and your basic breakfast fix. Now they have lunch and dinner, as well as steaks. I can't advise on that nor have I seen a review on their steak, so for now, stick with a nice waffle and a side of sausage. Throw some fresh fruit and whipped cream on that waffle and you got yourself a nice little breakfast.

The restaurant when you walk in has a very nice bar area and we were sat in the room just next to it nearby with an electric fireplace wall. It was in the middle of the week and we had a reservation, but it was not crowded at all. However, the server took a very long time to come to take orders to let us know about any specials, and we on a number of occasions had to ask for extra bread or more water. That was highly disappointing. Made the reservation based on Yelp reviews. However, in our experience, we did not have as satisfactory of an experience. members of our party ordered filet mignon, ribeye and short rib, and CB chicken scarpariello, and rigatoni bolognaise. We ordered a number of oysters on the half shell, the buffalo mozzarella, some fried calamari, and Tuna tartare to start and baked clams. Ordered an old fashioned but was too sweet. Pappardelle with large, meaty scallops was the standout. The Steaks were cooked to medium rare and rare as requested. Daughter enjoyed the ravioli. What wasn't as enjoyable and overdone was the rigatoni. The orrechiette with broccoli rabe and sausage was fine but needed healthy sprinkle of cheese for flavor. We brought our own birthday cake from Gencarellis in nearby Bloomfield which was appreciated and ordered some cappuccino and espresso. They already included a 20% gratuity in the bill which was fine for a large party but based on the actual service felt like overtipping.

I was looking for something special for Father's Day. A treat I wouldn't normally give myself, you…read moreknow a little decadence to feed my foodie soul. I have been craving a dry aged steak for awhile now. This is the kind of steak you can't get at your local supermarket or even your neighborhood butcher. So to the trusty web I turned and in Google I found a couple options. I narrowed my selection down to StrassBurger Steaks. Their website had the goods a Foodie Father like me was looking for. With a lineage of over 150 years in the Steak business how could this selection not be the right one? I turned to my trusted advisor in these matters (YELP,) and to my surprise StrassBurger had only 1 review with 1 star and to top it off, the reviewer lives in the same state and city. Now this reviewer, from what I could tell was on a similar mission as me. The negative part of their review had to do with the delivery of the goods (from the minimal critique offered) so I did what every loyal Yelp user would do, I backed out. But I couldn't get those images out of my head. Those steaks looked so good! I searched around my local area to satisfy my craving. Alas I only found what I would describe as mediocre offerings, it was then I decided I was going to give StrassBurger Steaks a shot. I placed my order for bone-in rib steaks and a tomahawk. I made sure I would be at home to receive the delivery, like junky waiting for a fix. 16 hours later my doorbell sang the sweet songs of a FedEX delivery. I tore into the package like a child on Christmas morning, eager to inspect the goods. To my surprise, or should I say my joy, the steaks were a cool 40.0 °F a mear 8.0 °F from freezing. I know because I used a digital meat thermometer to check, since the previous review stated the warmth of the goods, but in my case everything was perfect! So with the goods in hand, I was off to the next stage in my plan. How to cook these bad boys? I decided I would go the extra step and do some reading. For the meal I came up with: * Simply seasoned with sea salt and pepper * Sear the steaks on the BBQ to get a nice crisp crust to seal in the juices * Finish them off in the oven in an old cast iron pan * Add sides Hasselback potato and garlic butter sauteed Porcini mushrooms * Homemade Bearnaise sauce I am starting to salivate while I write this as the memories of endorphins being released come flooding back. To get to the point, these were in fact the best steaks I HAVE EVER MADE. I like to think it's the attention to the details, but I can't take all the credit. Each bite of steak literally melts in my mouth. When you have such a solid base to start with, you really can't go wrong. I can without a doubt recommend ordering steaks from StrassBurger and have recommended these fine purveyors of bovine bliss to my friends and family. Like with all things in life I am glad I went this my gut instinct here and placed this order. Had I just gone with the single bad review, I would have missed out on one of the best steak dinners I have ever had. I could honestly say these steaks were on point with fancy steak houses like Ruth Chris and would order again without hesitation. Attached are photos of my journey. Happy Fathers day!

Upon arrival at this popular spot to locals, with its cozy and casual interior decked out in traditional Mexican vibes, we were greeted by the staff and immediately got a table by the entrance, but they also have outdoor dining, weather permitting. The menu selection is much smaller than at other restaurants. We decided on the Cheese Enchiladas, Beef Enchiladas, California Burrito, Beef Burrito, Chicken Fries with Fries, and Shrimp Fajitas.
