I met a friend at Stacks for breakfast today. The host quickly welcomed us and our server was polite. I questioned if they could prepare the meat portion of my meal a certain way. Our server assured me that the meat would be prepared the way I requested. When she brought my meal, she came apologizing that the meat had been prepared differently from what she had ordered or I had requested. So, I requested a different kind of meat, but she insisted on trying to correct the order. 30 minutes later after my pancakes and eggs was cold the owner comes to the table with the meat prepared the same way as the first. When I tried to tell him I did not want it, he raised his voice and asked repeatedly "what is wrong with this? What is wrong with this?" I said "I asked for it to be prepared differently." He yelled at me and said "well don't you ever order this again!" Feeling that he was being disrespectful, I responded "how dare you. Don't you lecture me." Instead of de-escalating the situation he responds "I'm not lecturing you, I just don't want you wasting my food." I then told him if they had just brought me a different kind of meat like I requested after the first, all of this could have been avoided." A minute later the server (not the owner) came with a different meat (well done) that looked like it had been sitting for a while on the side of the grill. This was to accompany my cold eggs and pancakes. By this time, I had lost my appetite and asked the server to take my meal off the bill. The owner adjusted the bill, but never came back to apologize or ask about the meal. He walked by several times and avoided me like I didn't exist. The attitude and approach of the owner was condescending and unacceptable. Especially since I am old enough to be his father. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I can't comment on the food because I did not eat anything. However, I did give the server a 40% tip on the food that I never ate. It wasn't her fault. read more

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and if it's yours, Stacks is a place to try!! Lots of menu options that will feed your needs! Went on a Saturday, and there was a little bit of a wait. That's good news in my eyes because good food draws crowds, but the wait wasn't horrible and gave me time to explore the menu options. It's like a diner but a little above diner food in my opinion. Family oriented and good for groups if you're looking for a casual breakfast spot. Customer service is great. Food I went with the Fries chicken biscuit platter, which was a HUGE serving. I think it filled me up for the whole day and I didn't even finish half. Came with a generous amounts of potatoes (your choice of hash browns or home fries). 2 fried chicken biscuit with gravy and your choice of 2 eggs your way. Cooked to perfection! My fried chicken was crispy, slightly dry but the gravy helped. My husband went with one of their skillets and he had tator tots that were crispy which he raved about! He basically licked his plate clean. They also have a lot of baked goods and cakes and pies. Wish I had some room or maybe I just need to go back and bring some home. I've never been to a Stacks before and didn't even know it was a chain. It's a pretty good straight up breakfast type of place that also serves sandwiches and other meals for the rest of the day. I would not call it a full service dinner restaurant however. Place was clean and very nice. Staff was friendly. Service was prompt. Menu was very extensive with almost anything you'd want for breakfast. I got a pork roll and cheese on a bun and my son got pancakes. Hit the spot. Tasty. Exactly what we wanted and expected. I have been here on two occasions. The first time I ordered gluten-free pancakes, eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes. The absolute highlight was the breakfast potatoes. They were seriously some of the best I have ever had. Unfortunately, the gluten-free pancakes were absolutely horrible. My boyfriend got the regular pancakes and those were not that good either. On the second visit, I got a ham and cheese omelette which also came with a side of breakfast potatoes. The breakfast potatoes again were my favorite part of the meal. This is our favorite go-to breakfast place. We knew that the place had recently changed names, but it was great to see familiar faces who work there. Pretty much everything except the name is the same. I went rogue at brunch and got a pastrami sandwich. Or was it a Reuben? Can't remember. I asked for the condiments to be on the side, and that request was honored. The rye bread was buttered and toasted perfectly, and while the meat ratio wasn't ginormous like you typically see at a Jewish deli, it was a decent amount for the price of the sandwich. Stacks is the new kid on the block but that is also the old kid on the block for what I gathered. It used to be running under a different name and now changed to Stacks. I was looking for some brunch and this spot came up on my radar. Went there on a Sunday so they had a bit of a line, 15 minutes. But after the time we got set right in. The menu was extensive. With many delicious options and combinations. I was in a mood for a biscuits and gravy. So I ordered. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Kept checking on my table making sure we good and stocked up with coffee. The food was really good and the plate was enormous. I actually ate my biscuits in 2 sittings. The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food they give. So if you in a mood for some good ol American breakfast and other options and have the appetite of a lion, this is the place to be. read more

I ordered 2 eggs over, ss pancakes, corn beef hash, and coffee- hard to mess up this meal but I did enjoy it. The pancakes delivered on my craving and I would come back here again. We decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews. There was a slight wait when we arrived, so I gave my name and went outside to wait to be called. They call your name on a speaker so you can hear it while waiting outside. I like that system because I hate waiting in a crowded vestibule. On this day, most of the people were waiting outside. Upon entering, we see that the restaurant is very large and divided into separate dining areas. The lobby area is in the middle of these dining sections, with seats for people to wait. There are also benches that are directly outside the restaurant if you wish to wait outside instead. The restaurant also has a beautiful gable roof that can be seen on the inside. Each dining area has framed pictures on the walls as well. Beyond the lobby is a dessert counter complete with a display case. This also doubles as the paying counter. Sherry was our server. Love the fact that she was masked the whole time she served us! Daughter had the West Coast Avocado Benedict, which has toasted English muffins with 2 basted eggs, Canadian style ham and drizzled with Hollandaise sauce. Sherry thought it was too much Hollandaise sauce, so she gave the rest on the side. Daughter also had a side of fruit and breakfast potatoes. She thought it was delicious and was very excited about avocados being in her benedict. She's very easy to please. LOL! Hubs had the Veggie Omelet, which is sautéed spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers and onions. He thought it was serviceable. So, he "stole" the side of daughter's Hollandaise sauce and put it all over his omelette and grinned from ear to ear after that. He also had a side of hash browns and a side of pancakes.The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Lastly, I had the Stacks Belgium Waffle Platter, which is two eggs over easy along with a side of bacon. I requested the bacon to be extra crispy but it wasn't. Overall great breakfast and great service! The service was fast; our waiter continued to check to see if we needed refills or anything else. The breakfast has to be one of the best in the area. The pancakes were perfectly cooked as well as everything else. I ordered a veggie omelette, which was good; only negative thing, they could of used a little more cheese. I brought my boys here on Friday for breakfast before we drove up to nyc. The food was really good, and it came out quickly. Get the cinnamon roll French toast! My son got that and I had to have a taste. That's what I'd get when I go back next. I took one star off because the chicken in my chicken biscuit was a patty, not real chicken, and because the kitchen initially sent out fried eggs for my son when he had asked for scrambled. But they made it right in the end. Will definitely be back! read more

When a good friend told my husband and I about Stacks we immediately went for Breakfast! We each ordered the Triple platter, which includes eggs anyway you prefer to be prepared, buttered toast, pancakes, breakfast potatoes, French toast, sausage, bacon and all of the fixings! Yummmm. Beyond delicious! We have been dining here more frequently, and Stacks has become our regular "breakfast place!" My favorite part is that when I need My Coffee, our server Leaves us the Whole POT! Perfection! One cup of coffee doesn't cut it anymore. I really wanted to do this review and today's experience was the Best time, In my opinion. As my mom and husband and I enjoyed our meal, an older couple came in to dine in. They needed a little extra Help and one of the hosts helped to get them "Ready". It REALLY TOUCHED our hearts. Especially during this pandemic and when so many of us need just a Little Extra Help.... He took their drink order and actually Prepared their hot tea and other beverages. He helped them and took such Great care and really enjoyed assisting them. It was really a beautiful thing to watch and be surrounded with since my mom, who lives with us, also has needed a Little Extra care now and again. It's Not always easy getting older and in this day and age, it is wonderful to see younger people still reaching out to Help older folks. My issue is not about the food or the general service. My concern is about what transpired and the fact that management did not handle the situation professionally at all and with the customer in mind. What happens is that a particular bus person ogled my wife while we were there and continued to do so. I addressed the staff person before and today the bus person came to take the plates away, stepped to the table, and stood staring at her. Of course, it is understandable that a man look at a beautiful woman, but he violated personal space in a manner that's extremely disrespectful. When I went to address management with the issue, the owner attempted to make it my issue. As if I personally take issue with a man finding my wife beautiful. When I suggested that the owner look at the camera he wasn't willing to do that either. I am not trying to convince anyone not to go there. My issue is that if ownership is unwilling to address the issue than who will. Oh well. We enjoyed going there on Saturdays and Sundays. My mother spent years going there. All that ownership/management had to do was address the issue. It's as simple as telling the customer that you'll meet with the staff, review the cameras, and inform the employee of the expectation. My mom and I both had omelettes here yesterday and wowwwww it was perfect. The omelette was so good - loaded with vegetables and absolutely no grease!!! All omelets come with pancakes and home fries. I've eaten at Stacks with a lunch group 3or 4 times. Food is always well prepared with quality ingredients, and service is timely considering there are usually 10-14 of us. Ambience is pleasant, with clean tables and a carpeted floor, which keeps the noise down. And the food has always been served hot, with good coffee.
