Went with friends for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. This little place is clean, comfortable and cozy. The service staff are great. Friendly and accomadating. The service was paced well and the food was hot. I usually eat lightly so it's been an omelet every week but I look forward to it. For me the portion was just enough. My friend got the belgian waffles with fresh strawberries and it was piled high with berries and powdered sugar. Most of the crowd are locals so there's a homey feeling . Very worth a try. read more

This is a great diner. Whether you're craving breakfast, lunch or dinner this diner has it all. I tried some of the breakfast food as well as I ordered the seafood platter; both meals were amazing. They are Greek salad is the best I've had, the feta cheese on the salad was amazing. Food is very good. The service is very good. But the ambiance, is lacking. Eating here is like eating in a high school cafeteria. The decibel level is through the roof. Why people have to yell at each other when they are sitting 1 foot away, is beyond me. BTW: If you go, watch your step going from one room to the next as there is a nice drop off. read more

What a cute little place. The staff was so friendly felt like you were in someone's home. The waitress was very social even got a hug from another tables child lol as she was joking with him. So cute. We were served quickly and the food was tasty. We ordered off of the lunch special menu. Overall good experience. I would definitely come again. I like that type of atmosphere. Recently I went to the new Maple Hill Restaurant in Maple Shade, NJ. Until recently I didn't even know the New Maple Hill Restaurant existed. Atmosphere: When I arrived around dinner time, it wasn't too busy. The outside is a cute, building with hanging lights. It reminds me of walking into a house versus a restaurant. The inside has a small bar and a couple of rooms. It does echo, and you can hear every person's conversation in the diner. Coffee: The coffee was good and brewed hot and fresh. It wasn't anything unusual, but it was good. Food: The New Maple Hill Restaurant has plenty of options from all day breakfast, sandwiches, and dinner options.  It looks like a typical diner with simple options, but there isn't anything unique or special on the menu. I decided to order off their specials menu: Pumpkin Pancakes! When they came out, nothing about them was good. They didn't look appetizing, and they were paper thin. It was shocking they were a special because I could have cooked better pancakes myself.  I found myself hungry afterward. Service: Our waitress was friendly and friendly but came around. We could have used more refills.  Our food came out relatively quickly. Overall Thoughts/Would I come back? I didn't enjoy my food. Have been here a few times breakfast was good BUT having traveled by this restaurant early in the morning I have noticed a neighborhood person helping himself to the bread and rolls left outside by the bread vendor by the side door. Not sure if this would be considered a crime or not? I took a couple pictures of where the rolls are left in the morning before the Maple Hill opens and they are left by the side door about six feet away from a rodent trap (wtf). And on the ground where bugs can also get into any items that might be not stored in bags, I am not sure how the rolls are left in the boxes but just makes me think! Check the pictures for yourself then decide for yourself. I am not sure the bread supplier does not have a key for the door? Now to be fair it is a restaurant and I think maybe they should do a better job protecting the things people eat. So since this review about the Maple Hill I did get a response from a Lisa T regarding my concerns and she has assured me that this would be taken care of. And true to her word rodent trap has been moved and outside is a little cleaned up. Keep you posted and then I will remove the posting. read more

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. The place was filthy. in bad need of washing. the chair rails had years of filth on them. The bathroom door was black with dirt. And the flooring was pieces of partial board around the base of toilet. The dining floor was covered with crumbs. No excuse, especially during Covid. I won't even bother talking about the horrible food. Junk everywhere, as if we were in a hoarders house. I would not recommend. Not fit for man or beast. No pride of ownership. I would rate it three and a half stars if I could. I had gotten the jumbo lump crab cake sandwich with broiled crab cakes. For the first couple of bites, it tasted quite delicious and had a legit crab taste but towards the end it felt kind of heavy, most likely because of all the oil. The fries were pretty fresh too but I didn't end up finishing everything. It was nice that I had gotten a free soup with it though since it was lunch time. In terms of atmosphere, it had a homey diner feel. I would probably come back again though to try the breakfast since those are usually the highlight of a diner. P. S. I ordered the stuffed peppers and a Caesar salad, which were pretty good. The peppers were soft and stuffed with rice, beef, and topped with a tomato based sauce. I'm amazed that I'm the first person to write a review for this place. In fact, I had to create their Yelp page! I stumbled upon this restaurant as I was looking for free wi-fi in the Maple Shade area. While I expected to find a large Perkins-esque restaurant but I was pleasantly wrong. Pulling up to this place may catch you off guard and you may be hesitant as its a small little building on the corner of an intersection with a small parking lot. Once you walk in, you'll see a sign to seat yourself in one of their booths or at the small bar top. I came at lunch time on a Monday so I was surrounded by lots of happy locals laughing and socializing. The menu is your standard diner menu, only they have real photos of their own food and not the standard cookie cutter pics some diners have. I ordered the monte cristo sandwich (ham and turkey with Swiss in between two thick warm pieces of French toast, lightly coated with powdered sugar) with a side of fries. The sandwich was a hearty portion and the deli meat was very delicious. I believe the deli is fresh cut to order too. The fries were VERY delicious. Perfect crispness. I could order a whole plate of them to go. Maple Hill was a perfect find. You can't beat a family owned and operated diner with the local friendly atmosphere. We were looking for a place to grub after an hour of jumping at Skyzone. Maple Hill came up and we called to see if they could accommodate our group of 12. They said yes and we headed right over. They already had our table waiting and were quick and accommodating of our big group even though it seems like this place usually caters to an older crowd. The waitresses were funny, kind, and provided excellent service. They had no problems making adjustments to our orders and we were even able to accommodate a vegan in the group. We ordered a mix of breakfast and lunch foods and everything came out at the same time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the prices are a great deal. I got a simple egg sandwich and my partner got the hungry man with a side of potatoes (pictured here). We sang Happy Birthday out loud and the owner (?) came over with a lighter stick for my partner to blow out like a candle. They offered a piece of cake but we were so full from our great meals. We just picked this place off of Yelp and it has been our best meal in NJ thus far. The escarole soup rivaled any wedding soup that I have had. My son enjoyed his French onion soup. I had the fried chicken and it was the best I had ever had. My son, who is always searching for the perfect meatloaf said this was the best of the three he had in the area. The vegetables were good. **Disclaimer: I did not get any of their breakfast options, which is what a majority of people reviewed. I randomly found this little residential diner on Yelp and decided to give them a try for lunch, but I was pretty disappointed with my order. I got the chicken croquette meal which comes with a soup or salad (I got the Caesar side salad), mashed potatoes with gravy, choice of veggies (I got green beans), and pudding or ice cream (I got the black cherry yogurt ice cream). To break it down: -Caesar side salad was solid, although the salty croutons kind of overpowered the rest of the salad. -Chicken croquette was a little dry even with the gravy and there was a huge lack of flavor and seasoning on it so after a while it started to get hard to enjoy. -Green beans were terrible...super soggy, mushy, and tasteless (but they give you butter on the side to make it "better")--it was a struggle eating it. -Black cherry ice cream was pretty standard, nothing amazing--you could probably get the same thing at your local grocery store. -My friend ordered the jumbo crab cake sandwich with fries and his dish was far better than mine. The crab cake itself was delicious and you could really taste the crab. Overall, not too dry, good flavor+seasoning, and huge portion for only $9 (including the fries, which were nice and crunchy as well). ***Note: Mon-Fri from 11-3, all sandwiches come with a free side of soup. If I were to come back I would probably try their breakfast options and see if they are better than their lunch and dinner menu. Based on a local recommendation we stopped in for dinner and had a great experience. The prices are right for this small town dive diner in Maple Shade. Lots of local folks enjoy it here The food is awesome, prices are reasonable and you get a lot for your buck. The chicken parm mini meal( not mini) was with two large sides and soup or salad and desert. All for 10.50 and it was good. The veg had a veggie burger and sweet potato. She was happy. This little diner is an oasis in the desert. The service is super friendly and prompt as hell, there is a steady flow of regulars and the waitresses are great at remembering and making you feel at home. The daily specials are the way to go but they have an extremely large menu so whatever you are in the mood for is yours for the taking. Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are plentiful. I have been to this establishment two times and it was two times too many. The staff are flighty and cater to the regulars (because you know, why make new regulars?!?). I see tables getting cleaned off and was told I would be seated as soon as some people get up to leave. They ignore my party for almost ten minutes and seat people before us (and being assertive apparently does not work). People walk in behind us and sit at a clean, open booth, when we were obviously waiting. Additionally, it smells like a nursing home in there, their bathrooms are filthy, the wait staff look like they're from a Roseanne episode, and the customers all look like they're about to keel over from massive heart attacks after shoveling corned beef hash and silver dollar pancakes down their throats.
