Flashback. It's 1991. I'm climbing into our New-To-Us Chevrolet Beretta for the first time with my parents. It's our new car. I instantly fall in love. In the coming years, her name would become Greta. Flashforward. It's 2014. The time has come for me to say goodbye to my beloved Greta for a new car. She still runs great, no absolutely major problems, but she's got some structural integrity issues, so for safety's sake I'm getting a newer car. How did I keep her running for 23 years? The guys at Stadium Auto (And Hoover St. Auto - same owner). They helped me patch together my car and keep her running well beyond the expected lifespan of a 1989 Beretta in the salty, wintery wasteland of Southeast Michigan. Every time I brought her in, the guys at Stadium Auto took the very best of care with her and made sure she was road-worthy. They kept her running forEVER. I've been going here for two years, to recently find out that I've been ripped off. I am a current student at UofM which means I am on a student budget and lack knowledge of cars. Therefore, I always trusted what they recommended I do. Firstly, they overcharge to oil changes. Go anywhere else, its about $20-25 NOT $40.... Secondly, they told me I urgently needed my rear brakes changed which they quoted to be $350 (go anywhere else its cheaper). I asked them how long I have till I really need it changed, and they told me I need to get it changed ASAP and that I should bring it in soon. They even told me the inches my brake pads were (which they lied about) to make it sound even more urgent. I recently went back to a family friends auto shop to find out that my all my brake pads are nearly new, and are FAR from needing change. I also found out that the quotes stadium auto gives are way overpriced. I don't doubt stadium autos technical skills to fix cars. However, they do overcharge, take advantage of students who don't know enough about cars, and are dishonest. If you have a big wallet, go ahead. If youre on a budget, avoid this place. read more

First - I am NOT a relative - just an extremely satisfied customer. The catalytic converter fell off my car last night and I took it to Hoover's. They couldn't accomplish the work there so they sent me to the guys st Stadium Auto Service. I'd never been there before. I knew that I had a bad wheel bearing, but didn't say anything because I was focused on the exhaust - and Rich, the one who worked on my car, was so detailed said to me - "Don't get on the freeway - you have too much play in the right front wheel - the bearing is bad". Well, since I already knew that (I speak car) I was grateful to be reminded. They not only fixed the exhaust, but also the wheel bearing - AND, as my exterior driver side door handle broke - they fixed that for FREE. Total cost for a wheel bearing (I supplied the part) and the exhaust repair was less than $300.00!!! I love these guys. They let me in the bay to look at my car - see what was being done - and they were wonderful! You have car trouble? Or want to avoid it? Go there. Just go there. You won't find anyone in Ann Arbor that's better or more reasonable on price. read more

This review is long overdue, but my procrastination may increase its value as the information provided by Stadium Auto held up in the months since I've been there. I brought my hastily purchased 1980 Mercedes 300TD to the shop to have it inspected over the summer. Brian, the Mercedes mechanic, was enthusiastic and helpful from the moment I got there. After inspecting the car, he brought me into the shop to go over everything he found. To my amazement he did not recommend any immediate repairs, and just identified areas that may eventually need fixed and inessential repairs that i could live without or have taken care of at my convenience--no pressure at all! To top it off, Stadium Auto charged a third of the price that other shops in the area were quoting me for an inspection. Everything Brian explained to me held true in the months of driving since seeing him, and my car is safely in storage for the winter. I cannot overstate how friendly and helpful everyone was. I've been taking my car to Hoover Street Auto and Stadium Auto Service (same owner) for awhile now and have only had the best service. From offering me a ride back to the shop to pick up my car, to their quick and honest inspections and fixes, both Auto shops are as good as they come. They are honest about pricing and don't beat around the bush. They recommend fixes within your budget and help you with whatever you need. I was recently at Stadium Auto to have a plug placed in my tire. The guys there were very friendly, comedic, quick and honest. They even help me figure out the color of my car (Urbane Moss Metallic, go figure). I would highly recommend these guys for any future service. Thanks! read more

I recently took my Honda Fit in for repairs at Stadium Auto. I was more than happy with the service that I received. Not only was the turn around time fairly quick, I felt like they kept in communication with me and I was aware of everything that needed to be done before it was done. The people are friendly and honest. Stadium was recommended to be by a co-worker, and being new to Ann Arbor I was completely in the dark. I felt like I could trust them (which is key) and that the work they did was excellent. My power steering pump had been screaming for a few days. thought for sure it would end up being a couple of hundred dollar repair. So, I told them I wasn't sure how old the belt was & while you have it off.........might as well replace it too. I get a call later, pump is fine it was a pulley, belt looks pretty new. I saved more than 1/2 of what I thought it would take. Some places might sell you the pump on top of the pulley along w/ the belt. Not these guys!! Now, that I know this is how I'll be treated. My husband and I were shopping for used cars and brought one here for an inspection before we purchased it. These guys were so great! I was there without my husband and know nothing about cars, and they took the time to walk me through everything they found (they were extremely thorough) and answer all of my questions. I Used stadium a few times when i lived in the area and always did good by me. I did have one issue about a year and a half later that they remedied and stuck with their warranty. They seemed to be priced fairly high as when i moved to Oakland county, all 3 shops that quoted the same work on my classic were quite a bit cheaper. I dont think my car ever spent more than 2 weeks here and i really miss that compared to where i go now. read more

I will only do my car service here! They make sure that I am taken care of and really know their info. I feel completely comfortable and happy with their work. I have had my tires replaced and some diagnostic work done here. They don't take advantage of you and really do the work that is required unless told to do more. Really made me feel like they cared! They explained to me very thoroughly what was wrong with my Volkswagen (without speaking in mechanic language that I couldn't understand :)). They answered all my questions & were very nice! Nothing like finding out you have a screw in your tire while it's pouring rain... After being turned away from 3 tire places because they were too busy, I drove to Stadium Auto Service in hopes that maybe they could help. Helped me get a new battery put in same-day as my service request. Great customer-service from call to shopfront to shop. Same price as other places I checked- was a good sign. They have wi-fi, so I could even get work done while I waited. It is so clear that they appreciate your business. The staff is professional and courteous. My car was towed in at 5 pm on Tuesday and diagnosed and a tie rod replaced by 4 pm Wednesday. Scott took good care of me and the repair was fair in price. They impressed me with the great service! read more
