This is a really neat Western themed restaurant with actual history behind the name and the location. It is set on the old stagecoach trail between Joliet and Chicago and next door to the original Stagecoach Inn. Inside is set like the Old West (Lantern lighting hanging from the ceiling, an old stagecoach inside, rustic tables, wanted posters on the wall), meets modern day (mix of several TVs Juke Box, and a video golf game. I wish it were a western themed shooting game, but that's me). There is a stage and lighting set up for future performances, with what seems like a legit sound system. The food ranges from burgers, sandwiches, onion rings, cheese sticks, pretzel bites waffle fries, fried pickles, wings, & southern Illinois staple: the horseshoe which is an open faced sandwich covered in fries and then cheese sauce. Then, there are more interesting choices: fried avocado, impossible burger, bison burgers, rabbit stew, venison steak, blackened pheasant, and elk dip. We started out with fried pickle chips. They were really tasty, but the portion seemed small even for two people. The sauce that they are served with was good and I'd like that as a substitute for ketchup for fries. My lovely wife had the bison burger which came out cooked medium just like requested. The portion on the burger and waffle fries won't leave you hungry. I had the fried pork tenderloin horseshoe. The pounded out tenderloin was thick and juicy with great flavor. I had the waffle fries as well, but if I order the horseshoe again, I may opt for the regular fries. The beer and liquor selection is pretty vast with an impressive whiskey and bourbon collection. We look forward to going back with friends and will try to get one of the patio tables out front. A modern bar and grill with a old west decor. Nice inside with a nice large bar, good sized dining room and also sidewalk seating outside. Nice cozy feeling inside, but too many televisions distract from the saloon theme. Nice menu with the favorites people like Plus unusual menu items like, bison, venison Elk, pleasant and rabbit stew. Do not come here, was here for the Christmas bar crawl. Took 30 min for our waitress to come take our order. As it was a Christmas bar crawl, they did not play Christmas music. When asked to turned on touch tunes to play Christmas music, we were ignored. Will not be back. read more

First time in! Popped in on lunch break during the week and was impressed by the larger-than-life saloon style atmosphere. It's a versatile vibe - construction workers, moms with kids, professionals working through lunch. The reason I went : their menu has a whole section devoted to every Western Illinois University Alumni's favorite: THE HORSESHOE! Endless combos to build your perfectly personalized horseshoe plate. I went with a ponyshoe, the smallest and it was big enough to take some home! All shoes start with a crispy piece of Texas Toast. Then you pick your protein. I went with grilled Buffalo chicken. They had fried as another option. My friend had a burger (they even had bison). Next up pick your choice of potato to stack on top. I chose the seasoned waffle fries! Tots were another option I'll try next time. Then smother everything in cheese sauce - the cheese sauce is what makes each restaurant's version of the horseshoe special. Stagecoach's cheese sauce is a mild house made white cheese sauce and it was great. No canned cheese here! The sodas were served in cute tin mugs with free refills to wash down all that sodium lol. If you can, sit at one of two booths straight back from the entrance with the red curtains for a fun surprise when your food comes out! My bill with 20% tip was $15. The atmosphere and design of this restaurant is super cool!! I love how they open the little doors by the kitchen and hand you your food. The fries are AMAZING. My family loves the food here. Horrible service! I came here on Thursday 8/4/22 with 4 other people and we never got service. As we were walking up one of the waitresses was outside and asked us if we would be sitting inside or outside. We told her outside. She never came back to take our order. After about 15 minutes one of our friends went in to get some drinks. The bartender stood at the other end of the bar holding a conversation with others and never even acknowledged my friend standing at the bar. He stood there a good 5 minutes or so. As we were leaving my friend told her apparently nobody wanted to serve us so we were going to go somewhere else. She then laughed and said "Have a good night." By the way, they were not busy at all. The cornbread casserole is by far the best item offered here. I ordered a burger to be cooked "medium", it arrived well done on a burnt pretzel bun, I sent it back asking again for "medium", again it arrived done - cooked through, no pink, but at least the bun was not burned. My friend ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap which was VERY SPICY. Unfortunately, my friend finished his meal before I was able to get mine to arrive cooked the way it was ordered. Husband and I used to eat here 3-4 times a month. Could get great food and have a modestly priced beer. We know between COVID and the current economy some prices would go up but $8 for a Revolution or similar style beer is ridiculous. We went here last night for the first time. First off, the bartenders were too busy eating and drinking behind the bar to help us in a timely manner. Even worse, my brother who has a speech disorder, was harassed by the bartender for "not speaking correctly". She told him he could have his drink once he could pronounce it correctly and even refused to serve him, passing him off to the other bartender. The other bartender reluctantly served him, telling him he was too drunk to order and needed to drink a glass of water before he could get more to drink (he had had two beers at this point). After the gave him his beer, the bartenders went to the back and were clearly talking about my brother, looking over at our table. To finish the night off, as we were leaving once we finished that drink, he said goodnight to the staff while walking out and the bartenders pulled him back into the bar berating him about how he was "giving them such a hard time" when all he was trying to do was order a beer. Great new restaurant in historic downtown Lockport. Came in on a Tuesday night for "singo" where they bring in a DJ and you mark off song titles on a card just like in bingo. Ordered a steak sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese which was surprisingly delicious. Food was served quickly, however my wife ordered a chicken sandwich sans cheese and it came with the cheese anyway. Server took it back to remake it but it seemed to take a while. When it finally did arrive it was delicious and the chicken was juicy. Cool atmosphere with a western theme. I'll probably be back. read more

Service is incredibly slow. We were ignored for twenty minutes after being seated inside. Employees could be seen standing behind the bar texting on their phones. The two stars were for the tots nachos. They were really good, but the bloody Marys (whole reason we came there) were very disappointing. Nice place. I was there 6/16/19. Brand new. It was pretty busy due to a festival in town but we were sat and served quickly. I noticed a stage and look forward returning for live music. Fried Avocado for the appetizer and the "Horseshoe" - burger for the main meal and my wife had the "Horseshoe" - chicken, both very good. We came here during Lockport Canal Days because there was a rain delay and I'm so glad that we did. This place was really cool. The decor was from back in the stagecoach era. The bartender and servers had sheriff style dresses on, very cool. We had a party of six and we sat in a booth, talk about totally cool, the picture on the wall slides open and that's how they serve you!! I would of given this place 5 stars but after we were served all our food and drinks, we never saw our waitress again.
