Recently moved to Covington and I am so happy to have found this salon. I went in the first time wanting a balayage and Caitlin did a fabulous job. My hair was not in the best of shape and she took her time and made it great as new. It was clear to see that she knew what she was doing. I have been back a couple times for a trim and highlight touch up and each time I walk out very impressed with the final product. I have had cuts by stylists with experience in Tokyo, Honolulu and Canada and chain salons while seeking more budget-conscious alternatives, etc. Nobody comes close to Brianne skills in color, cuts and style vision. I have had solid colors and cuts here. The atmosphere is pretty friendly, and it's nice to have options in MV. However, The prices are comparable to more upscale salons in Seattle or Bellevue, but without the luxe vibe or corresponding high end service level. The way they book appts leaves much to be desired: My appointments have never started on time. Not once. Often they are running 30 minutes or more behind. It takes a long, long time to get through a color and cut because they double or triple up clients passing you around from colorist to cut. You wait longer than is necessary to process, while they are catching up on other people. I know salons do this, but it's clearly not organized well here. And, if you get a gloss, you're left for 15-20 min, sometimes longer, over the wash sink. It's very uncomfortable, but I don't think they have anywhere else to put you. Unfortunately, after another 30 min delay in getting my appt started today, I decided to walk, roots and split ends and all. My time is valuable, and going to the salon should feel like I'm treating myself. The front desk was very understanding when I said I was leaving. And, if I had nothing else to do tonight, I'm sure my color and cut would've been great. read more

I absolutely love this salon! Erin has been my stylist for 15 years. I have moved out of the area a few times and gone to different salons that end up frying my hair. After those scares I came scrambling back for her to help me. I will absolutely travel to come here. Stan always has the best products and his stylists are so knowledgeable. Never have I left unsatisfied with my hair. The atmosphere is friendly, clean and accommodating. They have a system that texts you appointment reminders which is VERY helpful for me. My hair tends to take a while to process and I've never felt rushed through the process but never felt abandoned either. Someone is always coming to check on me and my hair and offering beverages and magazines. All of their products they use are high quality. I just moved to Washington so of course I needed to find a new hair salon so I decided to try Stan's salon. My stylist was Joseph a young guy who said he had been styling hair for about five years. I went in and explained how I preferred my hair only to put my glasses on when he was finished to find it was way too light and Joesph didn't even know how to blow out my hair straight, so 3 hours later and $180.00 I left the salon never to return again. Not only are they over priced but, Stan and other stylist talk about their clients after they leave, for me those two reasons alone make it an easy decision. About a year ago, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on Stan Parente when our old stylist moved out of state... I'm happy to report that our new stylist, Rae-Ann, is even better than our old one! She is a great listener, always happy and smiling, listens very closely to what you want done with your hair and always double-checks with you before she cuts. Really goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy with your cut and your experience. Going to the salon used to be a stressful experience for me, but with Rae-Ann, it's a special treat to get my hair cut. :) The other staff, including Gabrae, who works at the front, are also very friendly and helpful. read more

Shandrica has taken me from brown to red to blonde, added extensions, matched and colored my extensions, balyaged, ombred my hair and different set of my extensions over the years, and pretty much anything else you can think of, she's done with my hair and has always done an incredible job!!! Even with all the color changing (I Love switching up my hair color and style frequently) she has never damaged my hair! She takes pride in her work and will never overpromise and under deliver. She is educated and talented! I will never go anywhere else!! If you want perfect hair, look no further than Shandrica!! Lauren who helps her on occasion is also amazing! Been coming here for years - I will never get my hair cut or dyed anywhere else. I adore Stan, he does an amazing job! Also ask for Shandrica, I've heard from friends she does a great job too :) Usually I go in for just a trim and some more layers, bangs, maybe thin my hair out a bit - it's very thick. For the first time a few months ago I did a baylayage on my very, very long super dark brown hair - and it turned out spectacular! I've visited all three locations, Federal Way, Maple Valley, and Bellevue, and have gotten wonderful service at each location. Every location is very large inside, with a nice waiting area that provides snacks and beverages. There are all kinds of styling products for sale that they can and will go over with you. Federal Way location is easy to miss, in a strip mall, but it is right off of I-5. Bellevue has a strange parking lot, very easy to miss as it is in the tucked kind of in the back, limited parking. Maple Valley is easy to access, right off of Hwy 169, large open parking lot. Prices are reasonable, you're paying for what you get - and what you get is completely worth it. read more

I've always had an amazing experience with Stan Parente Salon!! Ive been to many places to get my hair done and none of them compare with them!! They're always so kind when you walk into the door. They immediately ask if you'd like anything to drink(water, lemon water, tea, etc.). They're always on time for my appointments, unless I am the one thats late.... I've had stylist Carly, which by the way she is amazing, she's so kind and I absolutely love the cuts and color she's done to my hair.I have also had Brianne cut and color my hair and she's also AMAZING!! I've had nothing but great experiences with both of the ladies. I will always be a life long customer to them! So I bought a Groupon.. I know, I know, I was a little worried. But it was a great deal. My hair turned out PERFECT. I would recommend Zoe for the groupon deal :) she was super sweet and even when my stubborn hair didn't take the color, she stayed later to redo it at no extra charge. He has been doing my hair for about a year now and I've never been disappointed, especially because no matter what I want to do, the results have always exceeded my expectations. It is so nice to have a great salon close to home. I love Shannon...she is as close to a magician as you can get. She somehow keeps my hair looking great as it grows out and we work towards a new style - no awkward phase needed anymore. Joseph at the Maple Valley location is simply AMAZING!!! He knows exactly what you want and what looks good on you. I have been in twice, and I am going back for extensions. The salon's prices are very reasonable, and they have a nice selection of hair products. Bumble & Bumble & Oribe. I wish they sold Kerastase' products, but oh well. I am not a big talker during my hair appointment, and I really liked that he let me be with my magazine/book. They play great music and have a nice selection of things to drink. I love Stan! I have a lot of crazy, frizzy, curly wild hair and I was fed up with the hours (yes multiple) I would spend flat- ironing with little luck. And if I chose to air dry? Forget it. Total Afro. Stan colors and cuts my hair normally and he suggested i try a Brazilian Blowout. I was skeptical. But now I'm a believer. I washed it and let it airy dry and its soooo freaking cute. Mostly straight with a tiny wave! He has saved me hours! I love Stan! read more
