Recently installed a new HVAC unit in the Bullet hole. Been a nightmare. Service techs can't solve issues. They are making me pay for things that should have been done during install or should be on warranty. Water was dripping on the floor when it was cooling. Heater does not turn off. Run a way heater!!! service tech left saying " Well at least you got heating" got to turn the braker off though or my business burns down. Avoid using these guys. You will be living a nightmare in the end like I am right now. Don't have affective heating right now and it is getting colder out!!! read more

I have been using standard for about a year on my properties now. I have used both new install and service. They are a larger company and are able to handle the size of some of my projects which is very nice. I always get immediate response and they are super easy to work with. The techs have been great and very knowledgeable. I have even had to use their after hours emergency service a few times and have nothing but good things to say. read more

Air conditioning stop working. Called them at 7:30am and they said they could be there between 12:00 and 3:00 today. At 10:00 John called and said he could be there in 20 min. John was here in less than 20 mi. and had the problem fix in a very short time. Jon was very nice and friendly. I will be signing up for there early year inspection plan for my furnace an A/C. read more

This company is shady at best, no integrity in their work! They installed the furnace in our newly built home, and the filters never fit correctly. So we had them come to correct this issue and the technician claimed that it was because the filters aren't square. Really! It doesn't take a genius to figure that someone was trying to feed me a shit sandwich, so I sent the dirt bag packing back to the shop. knowing that they would never correct their lack of quality workmanship, I decided to call a real company to correct the situation! Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time or money with these A-holes! read more

My daughters fan stopped running on her A/C at her house. I called Standard Heating and Air and was told it would be $106 to have a tech come out and diagnose the problem. The tech showed up took out the four screws to remove the cover, 2 screws to roll the fan out and told us that the fan was indeed shot and that a new module would also have to be purchased and installed with it for $1839.33. I always get a second opinion when things run in the thousands of dollars(and when its my daughter, a 23 year old first year nurse). I did just that and found out Standard's diagnosis was correct but the second company was about $200 cheaper so I told them to go ahead and order and install. That is all fine. The problem is I get a bill from Standard for $234.00 after quoting me $106(the other company charged me $94 but whatever) there was a line on the bill for $128 for "unspecified repairs" What? The tech was there for 15 min left everything apart and made no repairs! I called standard to ask about it this. The first person I talked to could not find out why I would have been charged the extra $128. She said she was going to talk to the tech and call me back. A second person called me back and also could not tell me what repairs were made but then said the $106 is only to "get the tech to the your door" and not do any "repairs" and then proceeded to tell me this is what all the other companies do as well. I assured her that I have dealt with many other companies and that is indeed not the case. She became rather short with me and just said that's the way it is! When I asked her if she would pay someone $128 for "unspecified repairs" she said, "I do all the time" I told her to find new companies to deal with like I intend to do. read more

First trip: I was quoted $96 for the trip. Water was leaking on the floor from what might have been a hose broken inside the unit [not from a humidifier...I didn't have one]. The tech stuck his screw driver into the hose [which was not broken inside] and unclogged the hose. My bill was not $96 but $150. Second trip to install a humidifier: I had been quoted $448 by the 1st trip tech and when I scheduled the install, I asked how much it would be. The answer was $448. I left a check with my son and went to a meeting. They took the check and told him that the charge was $513. I will be looking for another company and asking better questions. read more

REGARDING STANDARD HEATING AND AIR IN OMAHA NEBRASKA: Our technician did a fine job on the very basic task of replacing the blower motor on our furnace last weekend. It was an 11:00pm Saturday night call so I can sort of understand the $180 fee they charged just to step in the door. What killed me what the almost $500 I was charged for the motor. (I later confirmed the wholesale cost to be around $130). That is ridiculous markup! During the process of the original service call the blower fan wheel "somehow" got out of balance and over the next couple of days the sound became so loud I had to have them back out to see what the issue was. There was no charge for this visit but they suggested I replace the blower wheel at the cost of an additional $350. I had already called the local parts warehouse and found out that the wheel is a $47 part. I declined the service and planned to replace the wheel on my own. Yesterday I picked up the part at GA Larson here in Omaha and today I installed the wheel with the use of a socket set and a drop light in 24 minutes flat. I had never done this before so I was amazed at how easy it was and absolutely appalled that I would have paid the crooks at Standard Heating an additional $300 in labor and parts markup for a job that they should have been able to do in 15 minutes (if an amateur first timer like myself could do it in 24 mins). I WILL NOT CALL THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES IN THE FUTURE. read more

These folks really took advantage of me. I would prefer to give them no stars but I don't have that option. Last June 10th it was 93 degrees outside when the A/C quit. The Standard Heating and Air Tech showed up, looked at the unit and said "This will be a simple fix". A few minutes later he said the capacitor and motor are needing to be replaced and the cost would be $802.00. I authorized the repair since I had little choice but had a feeling I was getting gouged. Over the next few days I called four different Heating and Air repair companies, gave them the serial and model number and asked for their estimate to replace the capacitor and motor. They were all within $50 of each other and I learned I had been overcharged by $300.00. I called Standard Heating and Air and gave them the chance to make it right but they refused. read more

I have done business with Standard Heating for over 25 years. I do pay the yearly contract fee of $170. That basically paid for itself and more for several years as my furnace got older and older and I got free service calls and reduced repair fees. I don't know if their pricing is out of line with anyone else's or not. I stay with them because of their employees and excellent customer service, in particular I am impressed by the young man who has been coming out here for the past few years. They always seem knowledgeable, courteous, and informative. Additionally, since I live in a rural area, the comfort of knowing they will come help me if I lose power or service is an immense comfort since I am older and alone much of the time. They have installed 2 new furnaces (& heat pumps) for me. The first furnace lasted 23 years. I don't expect to live long enough to see how long this one will last! But I had NO complaints about the cost nor the work that was done. read more
