NEVER do business with this company. Every other store in town was honest about a late delivery for refrigerators, this sales clerk said I could get it in two weeks. Three months later, after six scheduled deliveries that were all a no-show with no phone call cancelling, they delivered a cheap refrigerator that wasn't even the color I ordered. Avoid at all costs. We ordered a Miele dishwasher. Were told it would take 10 days, it took 5 weeks. The entire time we waited, our phone calls were barely acknowledged until we spoke to the manager, who was very kind but not able to produce a dishwasher. At 5 weeks, it did finally arrived but damaged, Standard TV & Appliance refused it and we were back to square one. Very poor customer service, the sales people truly want nothing to do with you once they receive your upfront payment. This is a poor design as they are the only ones that can look up your order and tell you the status of it. It wasn't until we got really noisy that we got any response. We recently bought a new dryer from there (because our dryer we bought 2 years ago broke). The dryer leaks water (I assume from the steam cycle but no one seems to have a clue) AND gets too hot to touch. We have called Standard several times trying to get the new dryer fixed (it has a 1 year factory warranty AND we bought their extended warranty). After several attempts calling I'm, and plenty of time on hold, we were told they dont service our area (Redmond, literally 15 minutes away), but they will call us. They never called back. But someone did randomly show up to look at it. It unannounced and with no appointment. The service guys were nice and helpful, but had no idea what the issue was or how to fix it. They took pictures and documented the issues, and said someone would call us. Again, no one called us back. We called in AGAIN. After much more time on hold and being transferred back and forth several times, they said they were not even aware that we were even having issues at all. I'm not sure how that's possible since weve been in constant contact with them, and they sent people, unannounced, to our house, who have pictures and documentation of the issues. Absolutely RIDICULOUS service and products. We will always take our business elsewhere in the future. Anyone reading this should do the same. Why buy new, and why buyback warranty, if they refuse to help in anyway? It's been a month. They should have fixed or replaced the unit twice by now, instead, they still claim to not even know we are having issues... The sales person told me their price was $9,300 and the list price was $11,000. She told me they don't negotiate on the price. I've had really great luck with my appliance purchases from Standard. Their installer Chris is the best I've ever had. He does a great job and always makes sure that things look great when he's done. He's had to problem solve a few times at my house and I couldn't be happier! Updated my review to 5 stars. If I could have given these guys 10 I would. Damon always been wonderful to deal with on my purchases. I ended up with a bad dishwasher and reached out to Travis for help when the manufacturer was a nightmare to deal with. After many service calls and unproductive phone calls with the manufacturer, I was at my wits end. Travis took over. He involved Kelly in their Portland office and in no time had the situation resolved. I can't thank them all enough for the outstanding service and for saving my sanity! read more

7 weeks with a new nonworking oven/microwave combination. The installer did a wonderful job retrofitting the opening for the wall oven, but it Has never worked. Standard blames Kitchen Aide for not getting the correct part to them, and refuses to merely replace the appliance for one that does work. Also very odd that after 6 weeks of the part not arriving, they now claim the part can be airshipped and be here in two days time. I have had nothing but good experiences with Standard TV & Appliance in Bend. We have purchased several appliances over the years and have been quite happy with the service we received. Most recently, we outfitted our entire kitchen when we remodeled and got awesome deals! They even beat the prices that Lowes offered! Their sales staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to negotiate. Their delivery staff is pleasant, and very careful bringing items into the house. We have had some appliances that eventually needed repair over time, but that's certainly not Standard's fault - one can blame the manufacturer. I have used Standard for all of my appliance needs since they came to Bend, and will continue to do so. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM STANDARD TV & APPLIANCE, EVER! This is a long review so stay with me. I purchased a microwave and cooktop from them back in April and was told they would arrive by the first week in July. I knew that getting appliances was tough and was expecting to have to wait. In mid June, I called to inquire on status and knew something was wrong when the sales rep told me my dishwasher was still on track. When I informed him I had ordered a microwave and cooktop, not a dishwasher, he quickly changed his story and said that they should both arrive by mid-July. I now know he was making up dates because when I called back in early July to ask status I was told my purchase order had been cancelled back in April and had been issued a new purchase order. So the dude I talked to in June should have seen this and informed me then, vice making up dates. Now to the real rub. When I ordered the cooktop in April, I was very clear with the sales rep that I had LP gas (propane) and needed the cooktop to be convertible from natural gas to LP gas. She said that this model was and it would come with the conversion kit. When I picked up the cooktop last week, I found out the LP gas conversion kit was sold separately and not included. Instead of helping me resolve this, the two sales reps on the floor (Bend store) pretty much said "sucks to be you" and did nothing to help me get the conversion kit. When I called the corporate office in Portland and talked with Customer Relations, she said she would have a sales rep call me to help procure the conversion kit. 5 days later and still nothing heard from Standard. I called the manufacturer directly and was given the name of one of their distributors to call and order the part, which I did and part is on its way, no thanks to Standard TV & Appliance. I ordered an oven from Lowe's at the same time and have had awesome support. read more

We were blown away at the good service they gave us when we arrived 5 minutes before closing. I was in a panic. We'd just moved into a new house and our refrigerator had gone out. We needed a new one right away. They had 2 we liked in stock. Prices were good. The Manager Travis fit us in and were able to get us on their delivery route the next day! They were so nice about it and didn't hurry us even though the stayed past closing to help us. We are customers for life. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN! I WILL RECOMMEND TO MY FRIENDS TO AVOID THIS POORLY RUN BUSINESS. I recently went to Standard in my quest for a new mattress. I'd gone to 3 other stores before trying them, and was getting the picture that mattress salespeople had a high propensity towards not knowing their products, saying anything even if it wasn't accurate, and using the English language in an unprofessional manner. I went here 4 times over the course of the Black Friday weekend, and had the displeasure of working with 4 different salespeople, each of whom exemplified a combination of the traits listed above. Uckkk! After lies and misrepresentations, and finally getting what seemed to be some truth, I finally decided to purchase a pillowtop mattress, as it had the best price I could find. THAT IS THE ONLY REDEEMING FACTOR. They cancelled my first delivery date, and rescheduled me for the next Tuesday. They said Tuesday on the phone message, and Tuesday when I called back to confirm. When they didn't show up on Tuesday, I called, and was told it was scheduled for Wednesday. The delivery was made today, and I tried to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. We exchanged niceties and shook hands. But then one of them tried to make me sign a paper saying we did a walk through before they brought the mattress in and that there was no damage done. I wouldn't sign it because there was no walk through. But also because they did cause some damage. I told them I would not sign it, but that I would not hold them liable for the minimal damage. The guy could not see that he was asking me to say he and I had done a walk through when in fact we didn't. Uckk - the only person I dealt with who didn't lie or mislead me was the fellow who processed my paperwork when I paid. But I have a feeling if he doesn't get out of there, he will turn to the dark side too. read more

At Standard TV and Appliance the slogan should be we are 100% Commission Driven! Even our service technicians work on commission. 14 months after purchasing a top of the line Electrolux Washer and Dryer from Standard TV and Appliance, the dryer failed. We paid close to $3,000 for the set, with the expectation that they might actually last longer than 400 days. On March 13th the dryer from the pair failed. It had a faulty heating element and after 4 visits from the technician from Standard TV and Appliance the dryer still does not function. On Wednesday, March 14th, I called to schedule a tech to look at the dryer. On Saturday, March 17th, the tech arrived, and new door switch was ordered (a $37 part). On Wednesday March 28th, the door switch was in and scheduled to be installed. The door switch was installed but did not fix the problem. So, a new control board was ordered (a $205 part). This part was rushed out by Electrolux and actually delivered to Standard TV on March 30. Nice job Electrolux! The following Monday (April 2), I called Standard TV's service department to follow up. I had been expecting the part the prior week but maybe it was delayed. No, they got the part and would like to schedule the installation on Friday April 6th. Really! I have only been out of a dryer for the last 3 weeks. On April 6th, new control board was installed but still did not fix the problem. So a new heating element was ordered and a new control board since it was assumed that a short caused the first replacement board to be fried. The action to replace the heating element was recommended by Electrolux support. (another $159 in parts). These parts arrived and on Thursday April 12 and were installed. The original heating element was removed (for the first time) and inspected. The part was obviously defective prior to installation into the new dryer. Over time the coils had expanded enough to finally contact the outer tube which resulted in a short. This also caused the thermal fuse to fail. Does Standard TV and Appliance have any thermal fuses? No. It would need to be ordered. This part 'should' be in next Tuesday April 17th... Fortunately, Electrolux has been kind and provided a credit for the parts: $399 so far. Standard TV still plans on charging $149.00 for the 'service call'. If you are in Bend Oregon, you might want to do your appliance shopping at a really big box store or someone who is actually a local company with local service. Standard TV and Appliance is neither. read more

Standard TV not only massively damaged our home by failing to connect the water line to the washing machine (because the installers were high), but they then failed to compensate for, or fix the $20,000 in water damage that was caused by them, even though they acknowledged their fault! In November of 2012 - yes, a year ago - we visited Standard TV & Appliances in Bend, OR looking for three appliances. We needed to buy a combination built-in oven and microwave. The young salesman, as opposed to other salespeople we observed "in action" there, was very professional and helpful - which as you will read below ended in a very big disappointment. He showed us several brands and we decided on a new Kitchenaid system. Then we asked for pricing, and he gave us the MSRP for a new 2012 unit. We asked for a discount and he said he could sell us the floor model at a nice discount. We were reluctant to take a "used" unit and said so, and he said that it has "never been turned on" and was considered "new" - and then implied it was a 2011 model. Full disclosure: We thought many times about exactly what he said, and the best we can honestly say is that he mumbled something about it not being "this year" (2012). My wife was very reluctant about getting the floor model, and expressed it several times - while he kept insinuating it was new and their warranty including Kitchenaid's warranty covered it as fully new. I finally convinced my wife to get it and we signed the papers. I might add that my wife found a scratch on the floor model's stainelss steel handle and the salesman said it was easy to just polish out. Well - the honeymoon was instantly over after the payment was made. When the units were delivered, We had a few problems but were happy to get them installed. The "scratch" was not repairable according to the people who installed it, other than that we might be able to use something that would be able to create a satin finish in a unidirectional manner. After they left, we tried out all the features. They all worked except - when we heated water, the steam seeped between the two pieces of glass in the microwave. I decided to not call Standard to have their people come out and instead called directly to Kitchenaid to also see about the handle issue. And then came the Rest of the Story: I gave Kitchenaid the model and serial number. She hesitated a long time and then asked me to send her a copy of our sales agreement as it appeared that it was out of warranty. I was in shock, and then told the lady that we just had it installed by Standard and told her what the salesman told me. I emailed a copy of the sales agreement, and she asked me if she could call me back. About a day later, she called back and informed me that Standard TV & Appliance sold us a FIVE-YEAR OLD Combination Microwave & Oven Unit! Yes, she said it was a 2008 model, built in 2007. She said Kitchenaid decided that under the circumstances, they would provide a warranty as if it was a 2012 model. I thanked her and have to say that Kitchenaid was very up front and honest the entire time. (although I also was told that the handle was not under warranty and the moisture between the glass in the microwave was "normal"). I tried contacting the President of Standrad TV & Appliance but after getting nowhere fast in actually making a direct call (each call ended with the answerer asking me to talk to the store manager), I came to the conclusion that I did not owe him/her a call. Since then, I have talked to others who have gone to their company in Portland and one near Tacoma, and it seems the company culture is being carried on as witnessed by my experience in Bend. End of story. So, my conclusion: We will not buy again from Standard TV & Appliance. read more

I would like to give a negative star rather than one star, To deal with this Company for repair is impossible. I do not know why Jenn air have them still as their authorized dealers for repair. Like other reviews I confirm the hold to talk to service department is a day's job. Their tech. do not understand and able to diagnose the problems with my stove, This is the second time since July 2017, their technician cannot fix my stove/oven, Both times, they got wrong parts and could not complete the job. My original , brand new part was replaced by old, refurbished part, with scratches. I trusted their tech, he did not care to check if the problem was solved and the oven/stove restored to perform as per the manual. I was disappointed that it took full half and hour to preheat to 550 degrees bake with single rack. As per the manual it should take just 15 minutes. Also the convect oven setting does not work. Last week the second tech was sent again with wrong part. He was rude, did not know how to talk to a woman. Did not want to listen to the problems with the stove/oven. I only wanted to update the previous repair by their technician so that next time the issue is solved getting the right, new parts. I feel very bad, that I have to bother Jenn air with my continued complaint and till this day my stove is not repaired. It is of no use to complain, as they do not seem to understand, and just refuse to blame and wash their hands off by saying that the stove is working and that they do not have to abide by the stove manuals for the preheating and it is normal to take one half hour to preheat oven to 550 degrees. Their technician left my oven on without my knowledge. After the technician left I went out to run errands and after returning after nearly 5 hours, I found my oven was on. They are highly irresponsible. Hope their Management take this matter seriously. read more

Plus we purchased a new washer/dryer and mattress from them as well as new appliances for our house we were selling. Day 1 of being in our new home and the microwave turns off after 2 seconds. Our builder, foreman and I all contacted Standard. After being told their policy was after 30 days from delivery (NOT INSTALLATION) to have their tech trouble shoot in first. When I spoke to the operations manager in the Bend store asking to escalate this, he literally said "well you have a working oven don't you". Now we have to wait a full week for a tech to come out and determine if it's defective and then wait for these chumps to get a clue and just bring me a new one which is ALL I AM ASKING. I will NEVER recommend nor use Standard TV and Appliance again. I have never been more disappointed in a business. read more

I wrote a review a couple of weeks ago regarding a GE Microwave that I had purchased and was needing the 2nd repair within 4 months of purchase. I had asked for Standard TV & Appliance in Bend, OR. and/or GE for a refund and both kept passing the buck and the buck stopped nowhere. So I wrote a review on Standard here on Yelp. (Couldn't find how to do one on GE) Within an hour I received a phone call from Kelly in Customer Relations for Standard. This was on a Friday. She took the information and said she would look into it. I had not heard from her by late Tuesday the next week so called her back...had to leave a message. But she returned the call promptly and arranged for me to return the appliance and receive a full refund. So in the end Standard TV & Appliance came thru. I had originally given them a Zero but now will raise it to a 3. To get a higher rating would have required that I would have gotten the kind of customer that I got without having made the bad Yelp review in the first place. And also that I would have received update callbacks instead of having to be the one to initiate every call and followup myself. But Thank You Standard (Kelly in particular) for in the end, coming through. read more

We were told the warranty was only 12 months and then they said, "Oh, well you should have bought the extended warranty" in a way that was insulting and only slightly infuriating. They also informed us they don't have a customer service department, so let us know we could call a center in Portland for more information. That's what you call customer service! Do not buy anything here. They sold us a showroom floor refrigerator that was over 2K. Should have been perfect. When we received, it has a few small dents on door. Grateful for a refrigerator, we accepted with the few blemishes. Installers were unable to hook up water/ice so we had plumber come out a week later for that service. While they were moving refrigerator to install line, the outlet cord sparked and smoked. Cord was flawed and wires were exposed. Needless to say, this could have started a house fire at any time. Not only did Standard (salesman: Darren) sell us a faulty (and dangerous) refrigerator, the installation team never noticed or mentioned an exposed cord. Peter was able to work with us to get our money back, and while he was quite helpful, the company leaves something to be desired. Not sure how long they'll be in business. My plumber was telling me that he, too, had a terrible experience with them on the purchase of a big-screen television that broke on him 3 months after purchase. Never got his money back. As of now, I DO NOT RECOMMEND STANDARD TV & APPLIANCE. Here's my experience so far. I understand that things go wrong, but a company should at least make an effort at customer service. Will update. NOV 13th: SO (significant other) and I looked at appliances, assisted by Damon. NOV 14th: I purchased appliances from Damon. He said washer/dryer should be in next day, He said dishwasher in stock, will check on stove unit. Gave discount on delivery, (but still being charged which seems strange after spending that much). Charged for accessories, I don't like haggling. He's aware of our broken/breaking appliances. He asked if I'd like them to open and inspect appliances at 8am the morning of delivery to be sure everything's good. It's free. I said I would like that. NOV 20th: hadn't heard from Damon or anyone else. Called to inquire as washer is mostly dead, dishwasher still held together by bolt. Damon said they all came in. He didn't offer info as to when the stove arrived or why nobody called. He determined that someone had cancelled a delivery so can be delivered next day. Will call between 9-10am. Said they'd call one number and if unable to reach would try other number (both SO's and my numbers are in their system and on the paperwork.) NOV 21st: Woke by alarm at 7:50 am. Sat with my phone until 9:10am. Called Standard. Receptionist said they have delivery scheduled between noon and 3pm. Said someone should have called, maybe they couldn't get ahold of me. I assured her that wasn't possible as I'd been sitting with my phone in my hands with the ringer on the entire time. (Turns out they called SO's number from a restricted number (he was asleep) and gave up.) * Later that day, appliances delivered, requested inspection not done, were still sealed. Had them take away old washer and stove (big mistake). SO installed washer and dryer. Started test wash, washer made grinding noise. Sound didn't stop. Paused wash & called Standard. Transferred to service department. Explained that brand new washer making noise. Described noise, & offered to send video. She said she needs to schedule service, and will email video to service guy. Will call me between 8-10am next morning. She said just so you know, if the issue is user error, we charge a service fee. I stated that I wasn't okay with that after spending $5,000 ($500 of which is for extended warranty because I assumed they'd be better to deal with than manufacturer.) She didn't have any useful input just repeated that the only way I'd be charged is if I'd messed up. She stated that she understood my frustration with the holidays coming up and I wanted my appliances. I said yes, I'm frustrated and need my washing machine to work, but I'm upset with the customer service especially after giving them so much money. * Called later and spoke with receptionist (Shelly). I told her I want my money back for the warranty because I don't want to deal with them in the future. After explaining, she was very empathetic and said she'd escalate it as what I told her didn't sound correct. While on phone with her I noticed they had us written and our names and addressed were incorrect on the paperwork. * SO looked closely at washer dryer hookup & determined that an alternative hookup piece was missing and we needed it. Called to update that. Shelly had someone drop that off, and he installed it. Working well. (Shelly and service guy were VERY helpful.) * SO started on stove, still working on it when I went to bed. NOV 22nd: The stove was mostly installed, grates not on it. I noticed it was making a loud buzzing noise. Went to work. * At work, SO called. Two left grates for stovetop, no right grate. (This stove only uses two, which means we only have two out of four usable burners.) He called the guy who came by the night before, but no answer so he left a message. I called, Talked with Travis, the store manager. He will talk with his assistant manager and send someone out. Travis didn't believe we had two left grates and was very quick to point out most of the issues were mistakes by OTHER departments. He also told me that Shelly shouldn't have tried to fix things herself. I informed him that she's been the only person I've spoken with who's made me feel like a valued customer. * SO called. Peter, the assistant manager heard the loud buzzing and agreed it's not supposed to do that AND yes, we received two left grates. Will order grate & schedule. service. DEC 1st: Oven repairman came out. (SO home, I wasn't) Noise is from a defective board. Didn't have the needed grate. He called store & spoke with Peter, who told him that he never ordered it. Repairman ordered the grate and replacement board. DEC 16th: SO got ahold of Damon. They don't know where the grate is, and said they'll charge a restocking fee if we return the stove. read more

We got a great deal on appliances at Standard but when it came to delivery and customer service it was a very frustrating experience. Our delivery was pushed out twice but there was no phone call to let us know about the delay. Then when they delivered the appliances they were unable to get it into the house, left it in the garage then asked for $99 for the delivery. On top of it all Travis the Bend manager and the delivery team were quite rude. In the end I would have paid more for better service. read more

June 13 we decided we wanted a new TV for our living room, and were headed to Best Buy. we'd passed in front of Standard TV and Appliance hundreds of times and did a U turn to check them out. we were greeted after a minute or two by T.J. Gaskins. Inquired if we'd like any assistance, and we explained what we were interested in. Needless to say we were so thrilled with his knowledge, professionalism, and service. He showed us what we were interested in with no hard sell, and we were quickly convinced we'd be making our purchase here and soon. we were so blown away with his service, we bought what we thought we'd wanted and also purchased a gorgeous stand to set out 65 inch screen onto. Jasmine and Ashley took over the paperwork, and arranged delivery two days from then, and again great service. all of this great service was even more appreciated by the timely and professional delivery service. and these two young neatly attired men set up of the stand and TV. No charge for either ... I can only think this company has been doing it right for a long time, and they have it down to an art... it shows in every detail... I will refer anyone to go there if you want a great experience. Purchased washer, dryer and dish washer. Within first three months called that washer was not working correctly. It was leaking and water was not draining from soap dispenser. They came out but did nothing. It is still leaking and now clothing is damaged during wash. We have owned less than two years. Their only comment was that we are not under warranty. I asked that a manager call me as it is getting worse and same issues from when they first came to look at washer. No one called me back. We called again and now we found out it is $270 for them to just come out and they do not have a service center. They find someone who comes out. Wow what a joke. Scammers. Now we are remodeling our kitchen. Will not set foot in the store again. Will never shop there or recommend them to anyone. read more
