The person who waxed me was very kind and made great conversation. I truly have nothing bad to say about the actual waxing experience itself, it was comfortable and professional. However, I did not have a good experience afterward. Additional services were offered to me without it being clearly explained that there would be an extra charge attached. I was also given wipes that I was told were free, but when I got to the counter, I was told I had to pay for them. I felt like I was being charged more without my clear consent or understanding. The front desk staff was not very kind or welcoming during checkout. I was made to feel embarrassed for not knowing that two extra waxing strips would cost an additional $22, and that the travel-size wipes were $13 after being told they were free. I left feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, and like I wasn't treated very well by the front desk. While I appreciated the kindness of the person who provided the service, the checkout experience really impacted how I felt leaving the appointment. I had a 5-star experience at European Wax Center today! When I arrived for my appointment, Mone greeted me and educated me about the skincare products they offer. While it initially felt like an upsell opportunity at EWC, I did feel intrigued and better informed about after care and risks with neglection. Laneece was my wax specialist and was super friendly and welcoming. I got an eyebrow and full bikini wax (first time), so I was a little nervous. Laneece answered all my questions and walked me through each step of the process. While waxing hurts because hair is being ripped out, it still did not hurt as badly as I had anticipated. The warm wax was soothing on my skin (there's chamomile in it), and then the wax itself is what gets pulled off (no strips on top). Laneece did a thorough job, and I was very happy with the outcome of her work. At the end of the appointment, I purchased the "smooth me" ingrown hair serum to keep my waxed area clean and protected. Came in for the first time today with an appointment at 2pm for a free first time eyebrow wax and underarm wax. When I arrived early, I was greeted by Micah, the store manager, who gave me an overview of the prices, memberships, and waxing packages in addition to showing me products on the product wall. Throughout the conversation, I never felt pressured to buy anything, as some other service places might make you feel. When 2pm hit, my wax specialist came out and ushered me to my room. The specialist had me lay down on the table and we talked about what shape or changes I wanted to make to my brows, while she cleaned and prepped my eyebrows. When she started waxing, I hardly felt a thing! I was skeptical that the wax was even grabbing the hair! But IT WAS! They use a special wax exclusive to European Wax Center, and I loved it! After my brows were done, she put a serum on to reduce any redness and filled them in for me. She asked if I wanted anything else waxed before moving onto my body, and I decided to get a lip wax too since the experience was so painless! We then moved on to my underarms and the specialist had me remove my shirt - which I am unsure if they have you do this if your shirt doesn't obstruct the waxing space, but I suggest calling to ask if you are uncomfortable with this. I didn't have enough hair for the wax to grab onto (which I expected I didn't, so that's on me), but the specialist still offered to try waxing a test strip, just in case. After the test trip, she recommended I come back a different day, instead of having to endure a lot of hand tweezing, so that's what I plan to do. Overall, I had a great experience in their new facility, and I left feeling confident in my newly trimmed brows and freshly waxed upper lip! What a wonderful waxing experience! I learned about European Wax Center from a Yelp e-newsletter, stating that they provide complimentary waxing for first time customers on certain services, including eyebrows, which is what I was needing to get done. While in the Factoria area I called European Wax Center to see if there were any appointments available the day of. Fortunately, I lucked out as they had a bunch of openings that afternoon. After setting up an appointment over the phone I was all set. I came in where the employee at the front desk checked me in for my appointment. European Wax Center is located in a strip mall in the Factoria area, across the shopping center. Parking was easy to find, as there were tons in the lot that the business shares. When I went in for my appointment I was escorted by the wax technician to a private room, which I thought was cool for all services done here. Instead of a chair, you lay down on the table where the technician first put an ointment on my face and started putting on hard wax around my eyebrows. I was not expecting the hard wax, which is less painful and is done in one, quick easy tear versus a soft wax that is put on and then strips are placed. The hard wax process is so much easier and better here! I was pleasantly surprised. The wax is also from Europe; hence, the name. I also told the technician that I still wanted my eyebrows full, which she respected. After the waxing she then filled my eyebrows and showed me an ointment for exfoliating dead skin. It was a great experience here, and I can't believe it's complimentary your first time! In fact, if you recommend others, you get a $10 reward in your account for each person you recommend. You can easily make appointments with the same technician and for whenever you book an appointment in-store, your rewards points are added up in your account. I was a customer at their Florida locations so I returned even though it's a half hour drive from home because I knew they are consistent, and they did not disappoint. This is one brand that definitely works on being consistent at all their locations, they have great staff, not only friendly but highly skilled as well. Their wax is the best I've used, which causes least pain and helps the process be quick. When they reopened after the covid shutdown I was a bit nervous since I have been avoiding people, but I wasn't surprised to see them have consistent and strict protocols. Best. Wax. Ever. Literally the wax is the best kind of wax I've ever experienced in my 16 years of getting waxed across the country. I don't know why it's so different but it doesn't stick to your skin and leaves your skin feeling moisturized rather than dry, irritated, or itchy. 90% of the pain associated with waxing occurs when the wax sticks to your skin and peels a layer of that away. Of course that hurts like crazy!! This wax only pulls the hair out - truly a miracle! Having learned about EWC it is the only place I will ever get waxed again. This was my first time trying waxing. I went for the Yelp Elite Perk and got my brows and a second area of choice waxed. The manager was very nice and gave me both an overview of how waxing works and the products they would be using. The waxing specialist was very friendly and efficient. The waxing as a whole was quick and mostly painless unlike threading and plucking. Their waxing prices are standard, but they also offer unlimited waxing packages for a set price. I just stopped by today for a brow and cheek wax and was pleasantly surprised. At first it was a little awkward because I showed up at 12:55 pm for a 1:00 pm appointment and the door was locked. I didn't see anywhere in the hours where it said they were closed for lunch (I believe the hours just showed their hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm). I was a little confused. So I waited until 1:00 pm and saw someone come to unlock the door. I walked in and was greeted by someone who introduced me to the place and their prices. Laneece then came to get me. She was very friendly and easy to talk to. I was a little concerned as a man that my eyebrows were going to be too noticeably done and not natural. However, when she completed the session I was pretty amazed! My eyebrows were for sure on fleek! Dang. I don't know if I can go back to not having them done. I've had my eyebrows down at 2 other spas prior and none have done my eyebrows as well as this place! The only reason I am giving this place a 4 instead of a 5 is because I feel that it is still catered towards women which can be a little uncomfortable at times. I appreciate that when selecting services they have the men's and women's services split out. However, I don't really enjoy the e-mails saying "Thanks for strutting by!" and "See you soon, Gorgeous!". Also, the products they use are scented and I was walking around the QFC next door with floral scents that are typically geared towards women products. So I'm glad I did it on a weekend where I could go home right after for sure. It's 2019 and it's OK for guys to be wanting to take care of themselves now, people are gender fluid, but even as a gay man, It made me feel a little uncomfortable. It was easy to book my appointment. I was having plumbing problems so I had to be late by 15 min but they were really understanding. The front desk person gave me a brief intro to their products and services. I got my underarm, brow and upper lip done. Cynthia was the person who helped me. Unfortunately, I did not make it on time to my appointment so I was only able to do the eyebrow wax, which is complimentary to anyone who visits for the first time. I've only waxed my eyebrows once in my entire life which was for my uni-brow, however I have never waxed all around my eyebrows before so I expected it to be a painful experience. The specialist who took care of me was friendly & professional, & I think she did a great job despite the difficulties she faced w/ my eyebrows. If you care about your skin DONT GO HERE I usually never leave a bad review anywhere but this place did it for me. I was injured during a session due to negligence and unprofessionalism by an esthetician there. They lack skill, and protocol. She didn't follow the correct procedures and do the task the right way instead rushing and winging it. I just saw another bad review for them that's similar to my situation in terms of how they act at this establishment. Long story short I am now in talks with the companies lawyers to work this out. I developed folliculitis and hyperpigmentation after I went here it's been over a year and it took them a year to take accountability for their mistakes after I constantly kept reaching out to the claims team. However they are still being difficult and trying to get rid of me without making things right. I am dealing with the consequences of going to this place because I wanted to take advantage of their promotion they were offering (cheaper priced service than others) but it's not worth it. They have to do promotion deals to get customers in the door and I should have known that was a red flag but I still went. When I say worst of the worst I can't emphasize that enough. They disregard customers and don't care about the actions they've done. I am now scarred physically and mentally I don't want it to happen to anybody else that doesn't have the courage to speak out like myself. My once perfect skin tarnished because of these clowns. They have bad staff and terrible service. I am doing my part in warning people while still battling these sick people for what they've done to me. I have spent thousands of dollars as well as a lot of time and went to countless doctors to try and heal my issues but still no luck. They are liars and not knowledgeable about their own field. I will be heard and compensated and will not give up on this matter. I will place a negative review everywhere I see fits explaining this horrible experience I've had with them and make sure to get the word out with the network of people I know in Bellevue and surrounding areas. Best waxing experience ever from Mitra! I have been going to European Wax for 6 years now in their Plymouth meeting, PA location, but recently relocated to the Bellevue area. Mitra was the best waxer I've ever had. She was extremely gentle and patient. She even waxed in smaller sections which made the appointment run a little over. She calmly informed the receptionist that she would be running behind for her next appointment and continued to wax at the pace in which I felt comfortable. I just had my nose and ears waxed by LaRika, and I was super pleased with her technique and professionalism. The place is modern and clean, defiantly has a franchise feel to it, so I was worried the practitioner might not be that great - like at a massage envy or something. It was quite the opposite actually, it sounds like they have a pretty rigorous training protocol, and they use exclusively non strip was which is better for your skin. The front desk seems extremely salesy, unfortunately that's not my cup of tea, I kind of want to just relax when I get into the wax place, not pressured to look at their products and buy everything. I think their approach should be more like, here's free samples, here's why they are great, if you love it, I can tell you more info and you can buy it here etc... not: forcing me to look at stuff and no I don't want to buy anything right now lol. I tried to be polite and just listen but my personality, I'm kind of on a go-go basis, I gotta run, on a tight schedule etc these days. Anyways, I had the opportunity to check this place out being yelp elite, and after I got my service done, I was incredibly shocked! I had Laneece and she was personable, not aggressive on sales, in fact she was a natural at being a non-sales person, which this way, made me want to buy stuff from them. Her approach was more natural is all I'm saying. She showed me what their products do and how they work, this technique helps because it's showing me how the products benefit me. Also the hard wax was AWESOME. I barely feel any pain for all the waxes?! Incredible!!! She made my eyebrows look beautiful... and she did an amazing job for my Brazilian wax too.
