After finally getting "new construction" windows installed, we decided to go with larger 4 1/2" shutters. We were so nervous because not many people get that size, but we decided to go for it and boy do we love them! Everyone that comes over says our home has a "beachy vibe" with the large shutters. They look so nice with our painless windows! We only had one issue with the 2018 shutters in the bathroom rusting. ISD said to order the waterproof replacement would run us $650 for a small window but that seems a bit too much. ISD brought a new rustless magnet and made it look a lot better. Overall we are very happy with the way the new large shutters turned out, and happy with how the older 3 1/2" held up in the bedroom.

We went through everything thoroughly indicating which windows needed to be motorized, valence types, and color. A week or so later, I had to reach out regarding installation as I was told installation would be within a week and had not heard back. He updated me saying he would check on it and got back to me stating the color I wanted was not available (not sure why this wasn't indicated sooner since installation should have already taken place.) I reluctantly chose another color and waited. Aaron and his staff installed the shades about a week later. Upon completion, I noted that no motorized shades were installed as requested and the options we had chosen were not correct on a few windows. I contacted him and we decided to just forego them as I was pregnant and in a time crunch. A few months later, the shades started fraying, so I contacted Aaron, and it all went downhill from There. Not only did the communication and responsiveness break down after he was paid, but he deliberately ignored me for months at a time and made many false representations. To this day, I still have not heard back from him. I would not recommend Aaron or his team to anyone.

He advertised his shutters as "Made in Korea" and repeatedly assured me that was true, using it as justification for charging a higher price. Based on that claim, I chose him over a well-known company my family had used. After months of shipment delays, installation day finally came -- and every single box was labeled "Made in China." This was nothing but a bait-and-switch. When I confronted him, he arrogantly brushed it off and said it "doesn't matter where they're made". That's not just poor customer service -- that's lying to your customers. The problems didn't end there. He made mistakes with the order, causing even more delays. And when the shutters were finally installed, the design was careless and sloppy. Panels swing in opposite directions, blocking walkways and ruining the view from my double and corner windows. Any professional would have installed them as bi-folds, but he dismissed my concerns and told me he "didn't see a problem." I'm unhappy with the work completed by Aha Blinds.

We were able to salvage some of the shutters but not in 2 of the bedrooms (the window opening was cut too long to reuse the old shutters). I called two places to get quotes. Shutters by Rae was substantially cheaper. Donna (the owner) is really friendly and nice. Easy to talk to. Very responsive. She had our quote within a couple of hours after coming over. She has two ordering options. Overseas; which takes a bit of time (obviously) but she also has a local option where they are made right here in Long Beach!! We opted for the latter as I was eager to get our house back in order after being in disarray for several months due to construction. Locally made takes about 2 weeks; ours were ready in less than 2 weeks! The local option did cost a tad bit more but nothing huge in my opinion. If I were doing a big house with several windows I'm sure I would go with the overseas option, but for our 4 windows it was worth it to me to pay the small amount more to have them weeks sooner. The installation process was quick and efficient. They were done and gone within an hour. There is a fantastic warranty on them too. I HIGHLY recommend this business for your shutter needs.
