Technician was too quick, 1 hour to do 3 rooms with carpet and a kitchen tile. The kitchen looks the same and when he left I took a disinfectant wipe to it and came away with tons of dirt. Very disappointed. Plus he got annoyed when I asked him to go over the corners of the carpet since he claimed he didn't have a tool to get into the corners. Also left my outside hose on when he left. Will not use SS ever again. read more

These guys are extremely dishonest and deceitful. If you ever have them come to your home be sure to have them send you a written estimate, detailing what it includes. They gave us an estimate, came to the house and then claimed we didn't tell them about our second area rug. They tried to get us for an extra $200. I had to tell them to leave. Unfortunately our dog soiled the carpet a month later so we called them again. We clarified what was expected (2 rugs, sectional sofa, stairway) and asked for an estimate. They came back and did THE SAME THING. They tried to aggressively upsell us on deodorizer and a service to take the rug back to the shop ($300, $600 respectively) and did a poor job cleaning. Do not use them. If you are desperate, make sure you have everything in writing before they come. They also try to start working before billing issues are resolved. read more

The guys came over and where very nice and Courteous. The job didn't go aswell as I would have liked. We got the couch and the carpet done and the carpets came out looking OK but i wish I could say the same for the couch. It looks the same as it did $249 ago. Also they don't mention when you book it online that you should get a deodorizer when the cleaning is done to stop it from smelling, for a nice additional cost of $156 for the carpets and the couch. Lousy service. Do not use this service. After using them for years--this was the worst experience ever. They didn't clean one room properly and had to come back with a different team to redo it. Then also took an area rug and told me that they would call when ready within five weeks and then after eight weeks they still had not called . When I called, they told me it was my responsibility to call them. What kind of customer service is this? When I asked where the rug was and when it would be ready they said that I'd have to wait for a manager to call me back. And at the first visit they said they would take care of cleaning the padding under the rug. Instead they rushed out without mentioning anything and now I have had 8+ weeks of dirtying the padding. Use anybody but these jokers. I give one star for the two guys who made the second trip and apologized for the lousy service of the first team. read more

Called them to have one room cleaned. Was quoted $200. They came promptly and on time, and the man was very courteous, and I assume he did a good job. However, by the time he was finished, and having discovered several other things that he said needed to be done, the final bill came to over $1300! Maybe those extra things really did need to be done, but my advice is to make sure you get the prices on all the add-ons before agreeing to anything. read more

They have totally destroyed my couch and love seat. I had them cleaned in September and the couch was left saturated in water. It took 3 days to dry. My couch and love seat is made of white Asian cotton. The couch slowly began to turn yellow in corners and they began to show appearance of the lines as to where the machine was pasted. They have become more noticeable as time went on. I called recently to see if they can do anything and I got from a very rude representative. I did a carpet in a bedroom, tile in the bathroom and the wood floor in living room. Carpet came out real good. Hadn't been cleaned in over 10 years and it looked and felt great. Same with tile. Restored color nicely. Wood floor cleaning was okay. I thought they had some type of wood cleaning machine but it was chemical application than machine cleaning. . I really liked how they moved furniture around to get all areas of the floor clean. I would definetely use service again and it is better than renting machines cause then you have to do all the furniture lifting which is alot of work. read more

I am moving into a new home and needed a carpet cleaned and tiles done. The serviceman noticed my wood floors and told me about their ability to clean and restore them. He even gave a demo. My floors look spectacular and the steam clean Of bathrooms was really great. They also sealed a tile bathroom floor that the previous owner left looking dirty. It looks like new! I had a little problem with a spot on the wood floor and when I called they came right back out that day to fix. Wonderful service. Servicemen very professional and hard working. Recommend 100%. Mykel and Aaron did a great job cleaning the wall to wall carpet in my condo. They walked me through each room before they began work, asking if I had any concerns. Once each room was done they asked me if I was satisfied with their work, which I was. When my neighbor needed access to her carport, they moved their van wothout complaint. The experience began with them arriving 2 hours early - my appointment was scheduled for between 3p and 6p, they arrived at 1:15p. Then, from the moment they walked in the door, they tried very hard to talk me into additional services, and continued to try to upsell me for the next 10 minutes, even though I told them I was not interested and just wanted the scheduled work done. They are the carpet cleaning equivalent of a really pushy used car salesman. I did NOT appreciate the strong arm tactics employed and although I've used them for years, I think I'm done after this experience and will find a less aggressive team. read more

The bad reviews for this company are real. I read them, and wish I followed them. Sadly I went ahead and called Stanley Steemer for Tile and Grout cleaning for a kitchen and bathroom. I told the rep, who sounded half dead on the phone, that my small kitchen and small bathroom floor tiles were in need of cleaning and the grout was looking very dirty and I wanted them to look brand new. They quoted me a reasonable price so I jumped at the chance. Two guys arrived, one with a very heavy accent, and the other who was brand new and training. They were nice enough. They cleaned the floors and showed me all the dirty water that came out. To me the tiles or the grout didn't look all that different. The main guy said that he wanted to apply a sealant to the grout and that they had several colors. I thought based on my phone call that this was included.. So the worked does the kitchen and finds a good enough color to seal the grout. The bathroom really needed white groutt which he didn't have so he used some type of beige. Here's where it went south fast... He completes the job, but they knocked out a bunch of my grout leaving holes. I ask aren't you going to patch that. He said no, that's not what we do. He then gives me the bill, which turned out to be THREE TIMES higher than what they quoted me. I ask why so much, and he said, "oh I should have told you that the color sealant was extra." At this point I just wanted them to leave as they were there for much longer than i had expected. I pay and they left. Later on after everything dried, I noticed that he did such a sloppy job in the bathroom that there was all the beige color sealant which had dried all over my white tiles. I had to spend an hour scraping it all off. I contacted the company and was treated exceptionally rude from the rep on the phone. This company has the worst customer service i have ever dealt with. I said that I wasn't happy with the work and had i been told of the extreme difference in cost that I would have chosen to not have them add the color sealant. The rep said "oh you didn't think to ask? If you go to a restaurant and order extra food, don't you think there will be a charge?" My response was "yeah there are prices on the menus at restaurants. " Needless to say they didn't want to help and were rude. This company is run extremely poorly. Do not waste your time or fall for their low estimates. read more

The WORST. Granted, I hired them in New Jersey, but still... Two guys show up at my home and proceed to destroy two chairs and my toddler's bedroom rug. All three were dirtier and in worse shape after the "cleaning" than before. Brown streaks... ewwww. Then the crew tech gave me his personal cell number, said to call again NOT through Stanley Steemer, and he would give me a lower price. They wouldn't move a vanity because of its mirror, and something about liability. Don't they have liability insurance? We sent them away. Hired them to clean my office & wow, they were terrible! I came in the following day to see visible stains still on the floor, they did not vacuum everywhere as there were still traces of debris and they did not move any fixtures. They have a satisfaction guarantee so they came back the next day and the men had such an attitude! They did not look at me once while I spoke to them...you should have done the job correctly in the first place or I would not have called you back. I mean, I paid for the service, so am I wrong? I even watched them clean a stain and it came out, so it was obvious they did a poor job on the first try. A friend recommended them to me and said they were excellent and I like to support local business. I'd rather pay extra to a place who does the job right the first time. House cleaning maybe but I don't recommend for commercial cleaning at all! read more

I had a very old and sick cat who really did a number on my carpets. The carpet looks fantastic now. They were extremely nice, courteous, and efficient, and I am very grateful for their service. Only thing...My original $100 services ended up being $250. The first crew that showed up (on time) had to leave and have another crew come (2 hours later) because I live on the 4th floor and they needed to bring a portable cleaner. I clearly wrote that in my online appointment, but I guess they didn't see it. The portable cleaner is an extra $50, which my original statement didn't have. I also had my couch cleaned (just to get my minimum cost worth), which is a sectional but apparently they had down as a couch. Instead of $85 it was $160. They did try to get me to sign on for another service while they were here, but I told them no thank you since this visit was already more than I had expected. All in all, good service and my carpet is clean, which is all that I wanted! read more

They came on time and were very pleasant to have in the house. I was very disappointed in the transition from the phone call to the technicians arriving at my home. I went over every item to be cleaned in detail with the woman I spoke to and she gave me my price. It turns out that she did not include one of the area rugs at all and also included a piece of furniture for upholstery cleaning at $0 which all had to be fixed when the guys arrived. The price was more than $400 MORE than she told me over the phone. Very disappointing. I have used these guys many times before. Also, I have a contract that includes getting one room cleaned for 3 times. Despite the fact that my bill was over $1,100, they would not let me use the value of one of those free "rooms" toward my balance because technically nothing was a "room" - large area rugs that take up a whole room could not be counted. I just came away from the whole thing not feeling valued as a frequent customer. read more

Worst Ordeal - Stay away from this company. They are crooks. After agreeing to pay over $350 to clean my 4 carpets, they showed up (late) and increased the bill to $1700. Their mgr agreed to honor the original price but my rugs came back: 1. not on time, 2. stained orange, 3. dirty, 4. full of sand, 5. torn, and 6. two were completely destroyed. They are thieves. Their mgrs. and HQ will not return calls. Their ins co had the nerve to say we gave them the rugs in that condition. Don't waste your time, money or energy on this company. How they pay their employees: "that depends on you! You are paid the greater of your earned commission or the guaranteed hourly rate of pay (varies by location). Our competitive, commission-based plan allows you to earn more through add-on sales at the homes of residential customers.... Incentives are earned based on the "Inside Ticket Average."" How about pay your employees a fair salary so they don't have to scam the customers? BTW, there is no mention in the career ops that they perform background checks on the people entering your home. As for their satisfaction guarantee: "We are happy to work with you to correct any situation that may arise. In some cases this can mean spot cleaning specific areas of concern or even completely re-cleaning the area in question. In the end, we're not satisfied until you are." What BS. I asked the mgrs. to come and look at what their employees did to the carpets and they all refused to come out. The pickup guys lost out on a commission they thought they were entitled to receive from me and they took it out on my rugs and their mgmt. could care less. In the beginning we just wanted the rugs fixed and cleaned but they never even offered to see what their employees did to us. There was no attempt at customer satisfaction nor resolve of this issue. I called around 2:20pm to see an approx time the crew would be coming for a 3-6pm time frame for couch & loveseat. I Was told within the hour. I also asked for them to call ahead of time as I have a dog & 9month pregnant wife home ( I wasn't home ) and was assured they would. The crew showed up at 4:30 pm without even a call .. Big difference than coming at 3 .... I walked in and it smelt like dirty water , maybe there lines haven't been cleaned in a while. The tech even said my couches weren't even really dirty. ( maybe this is why they push for deodorizer ) Once crew was done cleaning , i inspected and looked clean on the outside. I was not aware I had to check all crevices only the couches to ensure that was clean .. I went To pay with a credit card so the Tech called In than said " the control desk is very busy , can you pay with cash or check or I have to call back in 10 minutes. I assume this was their gimmick so they don't pay CC fees so I just paid with check so I didn't have them waiting around in the house. The next day I was looking for something and found areas of both couches not even touched. I did find my lost phone in the velcrow backing of my couch so that wasn't even opened ..... I called back and they should be sending a different crew as there is a 10 day guarantee. we'll see how that goes. I have a feeling I should of went local rather than commercialized company read more
