I recently had Stanley steamer come to clean my carpet in my bedroom apartment and was highly disappointed. They were in and out 20 minutes tops. I questioned them about the look of the carpet while they were there, but they said when it dried,it will look better. The carpet looks as if it has not been cleaned. Normally the carpets look good. but they used so many chemicals on a traffic area, that instead of just showing some traffic, it discolored the carpet. they blamed me for having carpet cleaned so many times.. I had carpets and stairs cleaned. Afterwards the spots were still there and carpet traffic areas looked the same as before the cleaning. I re-cleaned them myself with my steam vac and the areas look much better. I sent pictures of the areas after they cleaned and then after I re-cleaned. I also sent pictures of the filthy water I extracted after they cleaned. They told me they are not able to remove all dirt. They did say they would re-clean for free but I already did it and it should have been done right the first time. They would not give any type of compensation. I tried them because I thought the name carried weight but I should have used someone else. Other companies have done superior jobs and were less expensive. If I could give a 0 rating, I would. Stanley Steamer recently did a ductwork cleaning for my home. The day after the cleaning, I contacted them because I still had dirt and debris coming up out of the first floor ductwork. They sent technicians back out, who went into the crawlspace and advised that the ductwork was damaged (from a recent water leak in our crawlspace) and that it needed replacing. Shortly after, we spent $5,000 having the ductwork replaced. As the old ductwork was being hauled away, the amount of dirt and debris that came out of that ductwork was astonishing! The ducts were NOT cleaned very thoroughly AT all. My issues are the following: * I feel the company should assess the condition of the ductwork before they charge $1,000 to clean it, only to tell you the next day that it needs replacing. THIS alone should warrant a partial refund. * If the ductwork was truly clean, it shouldn't have large amounts of debris still in them less than 2 weeks later. This makes me question if the second floor of my home's ductwork is actually clean. Lastly, when presented with the invoice, the company has the nerve to ask for a TIP for the technicians, with suggested amounts starting at 10% of the bill. We spent $3,000. I have never had a similar service company ASK for a tip for the technicians who just did the job you paid the company to do! And to do so while said technicians are standing in front of you. We felt awkward and obligated to give them something, so we did so in cash. Certainly not any of the %'s that were being suggested. Obviously, I regret even doing that seeing as the job wasn't done adequately. I have filed a complaint, with pictures, and am asking for a refund. read more

Called yesterday to get a vent service, first time working with Stanley Steemer but see the commercial often. I got an appointment set for today after talking to scheduling, gave them all the required info. They show up today and can't start the job because they didn't have a ladder!! I was never asked if I had a multi level residence NOR did I see where I needed to inform them. Figured that maybe a ladder was par for the course because they would be prepared. Well they called back to reschedule for a week from today to perform that service and so we are basically penalized because they were not prepared. After talking PCP professional I was told to call Stanley Steamer and that their 120 degree steam would kill all the bed bugs in all my carpets thru out the house .Once they arrived I told them to put an extra TY-vex suit on due to the heavy infestation.He agreed so he began steaming the carpet and they were dying all over the house .He then went on the third floor and he found ground zero for the infestation he then ran out of the house with bedbugs on his Tyvex suit never saw him again .Manager picked up the equipment he left .I heard he quit that day and I never got a bill read more

Very disappointed in my great room. After carpet dried (and I could not use the room for hours and hours ) I could not see ANY difference at all. Nor did the over $100.00 I spent for deodorizing make any difference. They offered to come back out but I did not want the inconvenience of having to take off work and waiting for it to dry again. I ask for a partial refund and was told "we don't do that." I ended up using my rug shampooer and it put their service to shame. I thought a professional service would do a better job that is why i used them. They did do my stairs and couch and did a good job so I KNOW they could have done a better job in the great room. read more

I use Stanley Steemer for mini services. They clean my air ducks and it was very efficient. It was a good value. My rugs and upholstery cleaning however, was not satisfactory. I paid $500 for deodorizer and neutralizer. They didn't recline my chairs to clean them, so I'm not sure of the quality. The chairs need to be opened all the way to be cleaned properly. That's my expectation. Are used Armen Hammer baking soda or pet fresh on my chairs and carpet after they left and it made the a world of difference. Save yourself $500 and just get some pet fresh from the grocery store read more

The guys were nice enough but they let so many bugs into my home because the door protector thing they used was garbage. They tell you they'll move furniture to do the job but they clearly let my pantry floor alone (which I paid for). They honestly kinda suck. read more

The group that came to clean my ventilation ducts was unsatisfactory. First there wer three men, one stated he was the trainer but did not like training, I now know why. He got the two younger men started then I guess sat in his van. One of the workers knocked over the dog's water bowl and spilt water, instead of cleaning it up they tracked through out the house. Then I asked them to wear booties so they wouldn't dirty the rooms that had carpets. when the job was supposedly completed I notice one of the workers walking around without booties, he stated he forgot. They did not a do a end of job walk through, I had to instruct the one employee where to vacuum up insulation that had fell from the attic. I had to remove tape from vent covers and they left equipment in the house. They did not show me the end result of their cleaning as supposed to. They just left after I signed the invoice no "take care or goodbye". Unprofessional. read more

I have never utilizes Stanley Steamer for ventilation cleaning. The front man offered a good price in his presentation with cost and scope of work. The team showed up this morning and were somewhat confused as where to begin. Finally getting going and appeared to be hurried. They backed up their equipment after several hours of the cleaning process. The guy in charge came to me for a sign off and payment. I ask him had they forgotten to clean 3 supply vents , one in my dining room and 2 in my living room. He realized the error and reconnected the equipment after retrieving from the closed van. They came to me after a period of time for payment. i took them for their professional integrity. After they left , I took time to check all outlets and discovered they failed to install the covers correctly on 2- supply outlets in my den. These guys were not well organized. I don't believe they knew the scope of the job until they arrived and talked with me. I would not recommend this group of men again for ventilation Cleaning. 500.00 is not small changes. On Jan.27,2011 Stanley steamer from Hampton Va. office came to clean some items in my home. They were hired by another company. They were told to only use water on items to remove smell from previous product. On that day they only used water smell did not come out. I was instructed by men to call back for them to redo if it did not work. I called 2 different men came on Jan28,2011 .They spoke to man on phone about problem and told him and me that water would not take out the smell. Myself and man on phone told them not to spray any chemicals. They assured both of us that it would only be a deodorizer no smell at all.Two men went inside 1 came out approx 5 minutes later coughing and acting like he was going to throw up. I asked what was wrong he stated that the spray does that if it is not dry. About 15 minutes later the other man came out wearing a respirator and telling me at this time that I could not go back in for at least 8 hours.I returned the next day smell was so strong that you could no stay over 5 minutes. Throat burning,nose burning, coughing.Have had windows open and fans in them every day . Irritant will not leave my home .Removed all items that were sprayed. Tried everything to get it out. Called company many times no help from them. TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. Been to Dr. 4 visits he said I am breathing some kind of fumes and vapors.Ticket from company said Santi-T-10 looked up MSDS on product looks to me it was not to be used on items that it was used on. Also they were told that the items had already had something sprayed on them and not to use any chemical. As of this date no help from Stanley Steamer BEWARE of this company and the use of Santi-T-10 being used in your home. They have an office in Va.Beach Va. also. They will never let you talk to someone in charge.Every time I have called you speak to a very young man in early 20's that is suppose to be in charge. This is poor excuse for a company that carries a national name of Stanley Steamer.(BEWARE OF SANTI-T-10 sold to Stanley steamer by Sparten Chemical Company.
