Waitress sucks, crap service. We won't be coming back. Food prices have gone up and the staff gets worse.

This place is like family. The food is very good and you get large servings. My wife and I have breakfast there at least three times a month. Best biscuits and gravy we've been able to find in the area. read more

Worst service ever and from the owner for that matter. We sat there for 45 min waiting for our food and then after asking we were informed it would be another 15 min. She didn't care at all that the amount of time was an issue. She didn't apologize .... Nothing. We will never go back to this shit hole. HORRIBLE!!! read more

The people who work here have always been kind. The drinks are strong and cheap. I have no complaints.

The omelette was ok but the pancakes were rubbery. The service today, however, was terrible. The waitress brought coffee and never asked if we wanted cream, leaving only spoons, no knife or fork to eat with. The pancakes were served with no syrup, and we had to chase down the waitress again, because it was so odd to have syrup with pancakes! read more

So we arrived and seated ourselves. Too many empty seats to choose from should have been a warning sign. Our order was messed up 3 times!!!!! I ordered iced tea, taste like dirty water, I sent it back for sprite. Originally ordered potato skins with beans,cheese, sour cream. Server left to give my husband more time, when she came back 2 minutes later I changed my order by saying I wanted the mini nachos instead. FAMOUS nachos? I had asked for totally vegetarian with BEANS no Meat, no Chicken. My husband asked for just meat, beans and cheese. Server brought the potato skins and nachos. I told her I had changed the order to "nachos instead". My husband's came with guacamole and sour cream on top which he specified he did not want. Mine came with meat which I did not ask for. Oh by the way; NOT NACHOS! our orders looked like chips with a small plate on the side with stuff to dip into served on a dirty cloth napkin on the oven tray they should have put the food on. She started back with a new plate for my husband, it had sour cream, AGAIN! We asked for the check early and said our order was messes up too many times to stay for poor service. We were made to wait until the "Manager was free" to ask us what the problem was. VERY POOR SERVICE. We paid for drinks and cheese sticks and left. NEVER AGAIN! We went up the street to a place called "The Grove" which has the best food, service and NACHOS on McLaughlin Blvd. read more

You can choose between small, medium or large famous nachos, 2 of us couldn't finish the medium! The food is very good and even the Ranch is home made. The ladies who work there are so sweet and funny, very nice. The place has pool tables, lottery machines, a dance floor, a restaurant area as well as the bar and an outdoor covered smoking area. We used to love it here. It's not very yummy anymore. Thier chili isnt as good, patty melt is bland and dry, nacho is also bland, sausage gravy does not taste the same, chicken strips are dry, waffle is not crisp on the outside, and eggs are not cooked properly. Additionally, service hs gone downhill and thier sodas tatste like all carbonated water. It seems like they are cutting corners. There are much better places to eat. Clean dining hall, an awesome server named Amanda , and a platter of nachos so big that my 11 year old daughter and I could barely wolf down a quarter of this enormous plate. Amanda was very attentive, checking in every ten minutes or less to refill drinks which I am supposed to do myself. (Oops) Um, do yourself a solid and stop here. If your looking to enjoy anything other than just sitting and waiting - dont bother. Over 20 minutes for a single basket of fries. After being reassured - they're on the way. They came out luke warm. After the fries. No more service. For almost two hours. Two hours of nothing. An empty basket of fries, empty glasses and no service. A favored table of customers continued to receive service, but not any other single table. Im disgusted with this service. Terrible service, worst service i have ever received, bad food. I'm not sure what the negative comments are about but this place is great! They make really good strong drinks with plenty to choose from, friendly service, good food and portions, good prices, a huge bar area with games, a big patio, etc. Highly recommend! read more

It has become a Sunday ritual for most of the people that I work with to go to Stanley's corner and get breakfast.we order enough food to feed about 15 people almost every Sunday.The food is adequately Priceton really good value.it also has a nice small dive bar feel.and hey if you're in the video program pool they have that tooo! read more

Every time we come here our waitress is always very attentive the food is amazing and decent priced the ambiance is comfortable and they make a hell of a damn good Bloody Mary! Definitely our Sunday spot for breakfast or lunch! Parking lot is kinda weird but it's on a corner and at least everything else makes up for it! Truly the BEST Nachos in all of the Portland Metro area. Huge serving size, easy to split between multiple people. Always fresh, always delicious. A bit of a "dive bar" atmosphere, but service is always prompt and friendly. Prices are affordable. Great jukebox. Casual, low-key environment. read more

My mom and I stopped in for a late lunch today. We ordered cheese & potato skins that were huge and delicious! I had a beef taco salad. Best one I have ever had. The bowl was even fresh. Went last night with the family. NOT a pretty place, old and in need up updating really bad. We go for the food and the service. The food there is reasonably price and the portions are large. Seems we have the same young waiter every time, and were happy about that. He's AMAZING. Friendly and fast. Burgers, chicken strips and Chicken sandwiches were awesome. Fish and chips good too. My two friends have a tradition of going to Stanley's to eat nachos and play on their slot machine. Tonight was the worst. They waited 15 minutes before deciding no one was going to take their order so they went to the bar and asked for drinks and if she could take a menu back to their table. Another 15 minutes passed and no one asking to take their order. Back to the bar to order the food. And as usual, half the video games have "reserved" posted on them. Despite not seeing anyone come to play the game. Stanley's allows some of their "regulars" to reserve their favorite slot for the night and they play when they feel. So in summation, the worst service ever and frustrating because they have to watch empty slots that they would like to play but "reserved". read more

Not just a dive bar. Like many others I started going here 35 years ago as a kid for the Super Nachos. They are still some of the best nachos around and can stuff a family of four for 21 bucks. Lots of friends did not realize that Stanley's Corner has a huge family section with fast friendly service, and great food that is very reasonably priced. Their breakfasts are great and the chicken fried steak is a favorite. We think of Stanley's as a family friendly "dive" with great food, great service, and a laid back atmosphere that makes you feel welcome with a come as you are dress code. I hope it's just a "one-off" and will give it another try. They used to have a great nachos dish. A few days ago it really was bad. The chips were all over the place and the "dip" was like canned food dumped on the place, including canned/pickled jalapenos. Been coming here since I was a small baby! From when it used to be called Magellan's.! Super Nacho is by far the best reason to come to this great restaurant because it is so big and fills you up! I usually ask for the meat nacho and all the toppings on the side.. Oh man, my mouth is watering right now...... Anyway, the drinks are good and refillable and you don't have to ask the waitress for them. You just go down to the soda machine and get them yourself its great! The waitress staff is so nice and they really make you feel like you are a regular! It's totally a family restaurant even though they do have a full bar scene in the back room. The front is for family and young kids and it's great because you have T.V.s there and of course games for the kids as well! The prices are great as well! For 2 people getting a super nacho and 2 drinks the bill is if I remember right 25 dollars.? The price is fair and you totally get enough food for that amount! Check it out for sure! read more

I agree with some of the reviewers that this place needs a deep clean! I know it's a bar-like place, but it's family oriented too. We had not been here for a few years and we had the craving for nachos and thought of this place because they have huge sizes. But when they were brought to our table, I was totally bummed! Plain chips, no melted cheese, and all the topping are served in a bowl. And there was lettuce (who puts lettuce on nachos?! Crazy!) very disappointed. Never Yelped before, but had to say that this place was awful. It's a shame because the burger tasted pretty good. Very dark and dirty restaurant/bar. The plates, silverware, and tables were dirty. The floor was filthy with food, as if they never clean up after messy diners. The portions were huge, especially the nachos, but everything was dripping in grease. The worst part was the service. It's not family friendly having a server's breasts mostly exposed when taking your order. The server also brought out the wrong food and then tried to charge us for the more expensive item (that we hadn't ordered in the first place), even though she said that she wouldn't. read more

Went to Stanleys for my 21st birthday. Boy was parking crowded for being 8:00 on a thursday night. But then again they have a shared parking lot with the restoration company located right next door. We decided to stray from their famous super nacho and order some burgers and beers. My first drink was a drop top amber ale. They dont have much diversity on tap, but the beer was cold, cheap ($2.25 a beer,) and they kept em' coming all night. I ordered the Gladstone burger (Bacon, Mushrooms, and Swiss) and it was delicious. The service was NOT the greatest however. Our meals came at very different times and when asked about wait time he replied "let me check on that,' only to bring the food out 5 minutes later. Before leaving i ordered a redbull and vodka which came out pretty quick, but it was pretty undersized and way too vodka-y, to be charged $7.50 (half of the charge being for the redbull itself.) All in all Stanleys has kept me happy for the last few years and is always a go-to-choice when in Gladstone and fast food just wont cut it. read more

Food is good. Benches need more cushioning. Video Poker on the other hand is a disaster. Had rude people playing them. Two ladies would put "Reserved" signs on two machines and then go play two others. When I made a suggestion to the bartender of putting a time limit on how long one can place a "Reserved" sign on a machine, she plainly said "NO"... Even tho I work at two other much more populated bars and its a great idea. That way the above listed issue doesn't happen.... I know why she said they don't have that problem here.... Its because there was no more then 10 people in the whole place.... Sad, because that machine would have got my money.... I will just go down the street and play somewhere else.... read more
