Wonderful family ran restaurant. They have the best chicken teriyaki from the sauce, to the texture, and tenderness. Along side is the best cooked steamed rice I have ever had. I always get the combination plate with their homemade gyoza (pork pot stickers), which are also the best I have ever had. And a surprisingly delectable salad with some of the best salad dressings. Sometimes I want a little more and I get the egg rolls which are also homemade and you guessed it, the best I've ever had. From what I see the locals love Lee's and so do I, but most people order carry out which is fine. I strongly encourage you to dine in to experience a very appeasing presentation of the food and wonderful service. My husband see's any labeled 'teriyaki', he has to try it out LOL. I will say that this place is very mediocre in MY opinion. We were visiting for a wedding and this was the only place close by that my husband was in the mood for. I had the beef and Gyoza and he had the General chicken. I found the sauce for the beef was super salty and not enough. It was only based on the top and of course how can you go wrong with Gyoza. I think the Gyoza was my favorite part of my dish, besides the shrimp tempura as a appetizer. My husband of course, loved his dish because it was drenched in sauce, but did say that more rice was needed. I liked that the salad was also a side dish with our entree's but those little balls of rice was not enough for the amount of protein that was given to us. We both agreed that this place can be better if they change some things up and less salty. Maybe other customers love it, but those that are trying for the first time may not be able to take down so much sodium in one bite. Other than that, the service was really good and welcoming and I really appreciate that. But spending $50 here was not the take I was expecting here. Lees teriyaki is a staple for us. I love that they have a chicken breast option as I don't like dark meat. Their tofu is tasty, however I wish they had a non-fried option. There is plenty of seating. Ordered a hot and spicy chicken teriyaki (which is a 2 star at best) and it looks nothing like the pictures. The dish is literally 1/3 onions, 1/3 carrots and broccoli, and 1/3 chicken. Comes with basic rice that has been sitting around. Not impressed. If you like Teriyaki with onions and veggies you might like it. The service was fine. It's mostly takeout so really no ambience needed. I ordered teriyaki chicken plate. $17.99 + tip I guess for cook or person putting the food in a container. There was plenty of chicken and had good flavor. My issue with the chicken was that I paid extra for chicken breast yet when I took a sharp knife to cut strips into smaller pieces- it was not easy cutting. The chicken was not that tender. I don't know if they marinade the chicken before cooking but I did expect a more tender bites. I didn't eat the little thing they call a salad. There were 2 ice cream sized scoops of stick rice and ONLY 1 teeny tiny container of teriyaki sauce. I'm trying hard to understand why they charge so much- I guess because they can--- they are not lacking for customers- always busy. I guess I'll end my review here, for now. I need to order from Oh Teriyaki and the red barn teriyaki place, in Gladstone/ Milwaukie then re-visit my Lee's Teriyaki review. read more

We stopped by this place yesterday for lunch and it was probably the best decision we made that day. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and glad that we did as the portions are pretty generous. The chicken and beef combo had some good flavors with the chicken being moist and not dry (which you get at some places). We also tried the pork fried rice. This fried rice is amazing as there was so much flavor to it. The way that the pork is prepared and then mixed in with the fried rice is just wonderful. The owner mentioned that this was an addition to the old menu and that they have also added some extra items. I definitely see myself coming here to try some of the other items in the menu, especially if it's as good as the stuff I had. read more

This place is very unassuming and VERY solid! We tried them before they changed owners (I think it was very recent) and again most recently a couple of times. The prices are very affordable at $9.50 for chicken teriyaki, side of rice, and the usual teriyaki salad. I've been to places that serve teriyaki (I'm looking at you, Joy Teriyaki) and they give you not much at all for around $15. Lee Teriyaki probably serves you at least 2 chicken breasts (or chicken thighs? I dunno) and they taste like they're freshly cooked, not chewy, and they're very tender. My husband got yakisoba and it was good, but teriyaki is definitely their jam. I tried beef with broccoli too, and it was better than most Chinese restaurants I've had. The new owner just opened up indoor seating as well, so you can sit down and eat now. :) Anyway, if you're in the area...make the extra effort to come into Gladstone to get some. If I ever see Lee's Teriyaki drop below a solid 5-stars, I'm going to riot. Absolutely hands down the best teriyaki joint that I've ever been to. Huge portions, fantastic flavor, and the nicest owner that you could imagine! Not a single item on their menu has been a miss for me so far. The broccoli beef is rich in flavor and perfectly prepared. The General Tso's chicken is flavorful, juicy, and practically overflows from your to-go container. The chicken katsu is deliciously crispy and they give you more than I have ever seen at any other restaurant that offers chicken katsu. The classic chicken teriyaki is amazing! The hot & spicy pork is amazing! The yakisoba is amazing! And the rice! It's good rice! I've never been more pleased with a full menu of delicious options! Oh, and the side salad that comes with your meal? I don't know how it's so freakin' good, but it is SO FREAKIN' GOOD. Finally, there are the owners! I'm ashamed to say that I don't remember the name of the woman who takes my order, because she makes me feel like I'm a part of her family. Whenever I walk in, she always remembers me and we always talk based on whatever conversation we had last time. She always puts a little extra in my food, whether it's a few extra gyozas or a Lindor chocolate on the side. Also, whenever I order, she always tells me to go wait in my car and she'll bring it out as soon as it's ready. She's even chased me down and handed me my food while grabbing a drink in the market next door! Absolutely top-notch incredible service that you just don't see anywhere else! Oh, and bring cash to tip!!! When you pay with a card, the owner usually rushes through and SKIPS the tipping option! There is no way that they don't deserve a tip! Visited the place for the first time. Small restaurant mostly for take out but had clean in door seating available which we used. Casual atmosphere and very quiet. Utensils, napkins, and water were available self serve. We ordered food at the register that was brought to us fairly quickly. The food was delicious. Very large portion of chicken fried rice that was a big hit with my kids. Chicken teriyaki bowl was very sweet served on a layer of vegetables and a bed of rice. We do take out there, the service and Food is always excellent! We love having them in town for a perfect meal every time. The owner is always helpful and has given us suggestions for trying different selections. We have enjoyed the changes made when we choose something out of our normal go to entree. Good place for casual meals with friends or going solo. 2 entrees and 1 appetizer filled 2 adults and cost about $25. Pros: - Food: The Chicken Katsu and the Gyoza tasted very fresh and they were crispy to perfection. The sauce that came along with the Chicken Katsu entree was DELICIOUS. FREE egg soup also comes along with the already large portion of food that you get, and you get to ladle a whole bowl for yourself. - Service: Not really too complicated, go up and order at the counter and sit wherever you'd like and the food comes out in a couple of minutes. The highlight of the place are the owners, they're two very nice people. They accommodated my party very well while beaming with infectious smiles the entire time. Don't waste another meal on bad teriyaki! We've tried it all and found Lee's is the best. Sweetest, friendliest service around, the original owners are back after a break while another couple worked here. They wear masks, even in the kitchen, and are open six days a week for take out. Homemade sauces, fresh ingredients, better cuts and quality of meats. I like the rice they use-not the cheap, gummy variety a lot of places use. I've been so impressed, we eat here almost weekly. Portion size is excellent for the price, especially considering the price of meat has gone up and they have not raised their menu prices. I think I've had pretty much every single thing on the menu. There were lots of great reviews for this hidden establishment. Very generous portions. I like a little char to my chicken which was not present. But then again it took about four minutes from the time I ordered to getting my food to go. Fresh salad comes with. The chicken was moist with a generous amount of Teriaki, lots of rice, and came with extra sauce. Overall very tasty. There are many other great choices to discover on the menu!
