I first tried the donuts when my coworker would treat us to them. I now have a crazy sweet tooth and I'm hoping I don't get addicted to Stan's! Every worker I have encountered has been super friendly and patient! Thanks I have most often stopped by in the afternoon , they are the best! Music is good, bathrooms are clean and service is 10/10! I've been to Stan's more than a few times. This photo in particular shows the Biscoff and red velvet cookies. Wasn't a huge fan of the Biscoff, but my friend was. I liked the red velvet better, although it was really sweet. My favorite donut I've ever had from Stan's is probably the chocolate dipped donut. It's the perfect combination of chocolate with a cakey vanilla interior, and I loved that the dip is hardened as opposed to a standard frosting. I also really like the Nutella pocket -- it's absolutely stuffed to the brim with Nutella; they don't skimp! Once again, it's very sweet, but I love it. If you can control yourself, you can eat it at two separate times to cut the sweetness. And of course, the chocolate frosted donut is always a classic. read more

Definitely the most mediocre & overrated donuts in the city. Are they the worst donuts? no, not really. Are they absolutely average? Completely. Most patrons of Stans seam to be a mix of people who don't know any better or someone who thinks the turtle races and mothers too is a good time. The love of this place is cult status beyond belief and is riding the coattails of when they used to make donuts on site and has now been reduced to the quality of a stale gas station donut with some extra visual flair. I judge anyone who says stans is their favorite donut shop when there are truly good places in the city like do-rite & Firecakes in this city. I've tried multiple donuts from multiple locations hoping I got a bad spot or a bad donut... but alas... they're all next day stale with a faint sheen of some sort of grease still caked in. Stopped by Tuesday morning and enjoyed a Frozen Hot Chocolate and a Chocolate Long John, both were so good! The vibe inside was really chill & the staff was nice. I'm a big fan of anything chocolate & this did not disappoint. Parking was pretty tight, but people are going in and out so it's easy to find a spot quickly. You also have to pay for parking, but can probably avoid it if you have someone wait in the car. Will definitely go back! read more

This is the closest one I believe to the ORD airport. If you're on the Blue Line. Correct me if I'm wrong. I stopped by here which I learned from my coworker since he makes sure to stop by and get off Damen to grab a box to go. That way you still have it fresh to the airport. Make sure you get there when they open or earlier in the day because you'll end up getting the crappy or not so fun flavors by end of the day: i.e. today - the only ones left are the regular chocolate cake donut with sprinkles, cinnamon sugar donut, Chocolate caramel pillow, maple bacon donut, you get the picture. My favorite there is the double chocolate old fashioned, red velvet (of course), peanut butter Nutella pocket, and Boston Cream Pie. When I'm not into sweets, I'd opt for the pretzel bagel and have a dollop of peanut butter on the side. They give generous servings of that without any charge. Also, they have this croissant donut called Le Stan's or something and it has this custard filling that will haunt you for days. read more

Lemon Pistachio Old Fashioned Biscoff Pocket I don't know if I just noticed Pistachio flavored Donuts or if its a Chicago thing, but these were really flavorful. The nuttiness with the very slight zest made this an enjoyable Donut. The dough had a nice density to it. The Biscoff Pocket is what definitely is going to make me come back and try their other "Pockets." So full of Biscoff flavor but not at all overbearing. This place is da bomb and it is conveniently located just off of the Damen Blue Line station. Their doughnuts are delicious and so is their coffee! I've had their ice coffee before here, as well as their caramel latte and both are so delicious. They have a variety of doughnuts, such as standards, specialties, and assorted doughnuts. These are all so fresh and soft, and if you think Dunkin has anything on these, then your opinion is invalid. You need to try the chocolate sprinkles doughnuts, as well as the cinnamon sugar! The only downfall of this place is that the doughnuts are pretty expensive for each one... it's like $2.50.. so do not come here if you are on a tight budget! This isn't a place I would come every single day, but it's a place to come once in a while when craving it. I've once waited almost 10 minutes to get Stan's before because the line was so long, but in my opinion, it is so worth it.
