RUDE STAFF TRIED TO KICK US OUT, PAYING CUSTOMERS. I went there last night with my sister and my son, we drove 25 min to get there. As soon as we walked in, the lady at the register looked bothered and tired. I get it, it was probably a long day of scooping ice cream for her. I didn't take it personal, and was still nice even though she was being very rude to us. We had never been there before and my sister was taking a while to order (there was no one in line behind us waiting) and at one point she even rolled her eyes. We then sat down to eat our ice cream, there was only one other couple in there. My son is 4 yrs old, and can be loud sometimes. Like any 4 yr old. He wasn't yelling, he was simply talking a lot and getting excited. After about 15 min, this lady looks at us and asks us to sit outside. I was genuinely so confused I didn't even realize she was talking to me at first. When my sister told me she was talking to us, I asked her "who, us" and she said "yes, go outside" and I simply just ignored her bc why would I go outside ? My sister then told me she had giving my son dirty looks, I hadn't noticed bc I was trying to enjoy their mid ice cream. I then asked the couple sitting right next to us if my son was bothering them? They immediately replied no and tried to comfort me by saying she was out of line and had no reason to ask us to leave. Honestly I didn't want to make a scene in front of my son, but I wish I had said more to her. I was genuinely hurt and confused. I mean what mother wouldn't be? And if you're reading this, I'm sorry you're miserable, get a new job hon. Maybe one not in customer service. Have the day you deserve.

I've been a few more times with family and friends. This last time we came half an hour before closing. We ordered from the kiosk. It took some time to get our order as they were cleaning up to prep for closing. Other than that, no issues when we come.

One Scoop of vanilla and one scoop of strawberry

Had a sweet tooth, ordered the two scoop $6.99 so disappointed with the portion lol! Thought this was a kids size. I miss Jose, he would add big scoops that always made me go back monthly for my regular vanilla strawberry . Staff is nice just not very happy with the portion size.

Love this local ice cream shop that's originates from Chicago! Ice cream slices are thick and full of flavor. They have a variety of desserts to go with ice cream too, like cookies, cakes and donuts. Your first order if you join the rewards program is also $5 off! Totally worth it.

This is a great experience and there are several around the Chicago land area. The rainbow cone gives you several different types of ice cream in one cone. Beautiful to look at and even better to eat. There is indoor and outdoor seating, they even have a water bowl for your canine companion.

The Original Rainbow Cone is a nostalgic Chicago staple that delivers a fun, unique ice cream experience. Their iconic cone--stacked with orange sherbet, pistachio, Palmer House (a vanilla with cherries and walnuts), strawberry, and chocolate--is as colorful as it is delicious. It's definitely an experience you won't find anywhere else, and it's perfect for anyone who loves to try multiple flavors at once. The ice cream is huge! The atmosphere is charming and family-friendly, though it can get quite busy, especially on weekends. Service is generally quick, but a bit chaotic when crowds hit.

Original rainbow cone (but in a cup)

My brother was visiting and I told him that the Original Rainbow Cone was a Chicago food institution, so he wanted to try it (but opted to get it in a cup). I haven't had it in years, but the ice cream flavors are fun (Palmer House is one of my faves and is a bit unique in my opinion). But also the ice cream quality is pretty good and it was really easy to finish this between the two of us. By that, I mean I feel like sometimes I try ice cream and have enough before I finish the serving, but I thought this was a great portion and a delight to eat. The inside is very colorful to match the Rainbow Cone colors. The decor is a little cheugy/basic, but not unsurprising. Conclusion is the rainbow cone is definitely worth trying if you're in the mood for ice cream, but I probably don't need to have it anytime soon.

Great addition to Division Street! If you haven't ever tried rainbow cone it's a must. For just shy of $7 after tax you get a pretty generous portion in a cup or cone and can upgrade to a waffle cone for a bit more. Pictured I got the cosmic birthday flavor which was delicious! The ice cream drip catcher on the cone is pretty smart too I must add. Rainbow cone won't be the best ice cream you've ever had in your life but it's a Chicago staple :)

5 out of 5 stars 10 out of 10 times! I have been a lifelong Rainbow Cone fan (I'm 28 years old) and will forever be. I was so excited to hear they were opening a location in my neighborhood and of course, had to check it out immediately! I was greeted upon arrival by a stunning pink patio space which alerted me that I was at the right place There were tons of benches and spaces for people to enjoy their ice cream outside which I loved especially given the location on Division. I went inside and absolutely loved the interior with all of the bright Rainbow cone colors as all of their locations have! They had a few tables inside to sit at as well to the left of the ordering area. There were a lot of people when I went but I expected that as Rainbow Cone is so popular and they just had opened. I ordered my tried and true Rainbow Cone and it was delightful as always. In addition, the staff was beyond kind and helpful despite how busy they were when I was there. My boyfriend got a chocolate shake which came with little donuts on top which I thought was adorable. Our ice cream was SO good as always and of course, we will be back. I will note, I noticed a few individuals talking about how long the wait time was (I waited maybe 10 minutes at best which isn't even long for the city honestly) but I need everyone to realize this is a NEW location and the staff is LEARNING. Please give them grace AND kindness as they work through their first few weeks of opening and I can promise you, you will not be disappointed if you go whether it be today or months from now. This place is fantastic along with their staff and I know you will have the same experience if you go! I cannot talk highly enough of Rainbow Cone and love this new location! I will definitely be back and will be a regular too.

Love this ice cream spot! Happy to have a place the serves classic flavors and more in the neighborhood.

A fun place to take out of town guests to try this Chicago staple! They have various rainbow cone style flavors - but the original is a must try. The flavors blend together so well and it tastes as good as it looks! This location is super spacious on the inside and they have a whole square of outdoor seating which is perfect for the summertime. It definitely melts quickly but they do give a little ice cream catcher attached to the cone. Overall recommend trying the original rainbow cone at least once!

Had to stop by because I've never had this before. The ice cream is good but it looks even better. Nothing like motorcycles and ice cream! Summertime Chi. I think my ice cream flavor was birthday cake mixed with something else. I'm not sure! I picked it off the picture, but it was perfect. Thanks so much Rainbow people!

The young gentleman named Cooper provided me and my husband with stellar service alongside some of the best dairy-free ice cream I have ever had. Cooper has earned my loyalty and respect and I have found my new favorite ice cream place.

Tbh I remember being disappointed because of the hype. Today I entered with tempered expectations. I tried the Old Fashioned doughnut and it was somewhere between solid and above average. I'll definitely stick with Do-Rite especially because they're a few blocks away and significantly better. If the job catered Voodoo I'd indulge, but considering I prefer a few other donut shops I won't make a special trip. Great service plus a respectable donut equals 3.51 stars.

It also doesn't hurt that they are open from 6am to Midnight - perfect for those sudden doughnut cravings! One thing that can be improved is how they handle big orders. I recently ordered over 5 dozen doughnuts and it came in 6 boxes and a small bag. First problem: they don't deliver. Second and bigger problem is that they don't pack big orders so you can carry them out. How the heck am I going to carry 6 boxes and a bag of donuts??? Maybe they want to keep their business "small". A simple brown bag or even something to tie the boxes together would have been very helpful.
