This review is for the customer service, not the ice cream. Hottest day of the summer so far and ordered ice cream for me and the kiddo. After we're done, I walked back up to the front to get some water. After waiting patiently at the register for 5 minutes, listening to the 2 employees talk in the back, I leaned back and asked if we could get some water. Clearly annoyed, the woman came out, took a cup from next to the water dispenser, walked over to the hand washing sink, half filled a Styrofoam cup, and gave it to us with a snarky 'enjoy'. Terrible customer service. Don't sit in the back gossiping and be annoyed when customers need service. read more

Original is still a classic 100 years later. The small size was a perfect fit for all the flavors that came in. Not too sweet but just right with the creaminess. Our scooper Victoria was kind and guided us well with how to order our scoop sizes. read more

Had a sweet tooth, ordered the two scoop $6.99 so disappointed with the portion lol! Thought this was a kids size. I miss Jose, he would add big scoops that always made me go back monthly for my regular vanilla strawberry . Staff is nice just not very happy with the portion size. read more

I ordered the mini donuts that claim they are freshly made. In fact they are not freshly made. They are microwave slop.. they are soft mushy and dry. No crisp on them like how a freshly made donut would have. I ordered the cinnamon sugar, glaze, turtle, and sprinkle. All were stale tasting cheap garbage. But also the ice cream quality is pretty good and it was really easy to finish this between the two of us. By that, I mean I feel like sometimes I try ice cream and have enough before I finish the serving, but I thought this was a great portion and a delight to eat. The inside is very colorful to match the Rainbow Cone colors. The decor is a little cheugy/basic, but not unsurprising. I was so excited to hear they were opening a location in my neighborhood and of course, had to check it out immediately! I was greeted upon arrival by a stunning pink patio space which alerted me that I was at the right place There were tons of benches and spaces for people to enjoy their ice cream outside which I loved especially given the location on Division. I went inside and absolutely loved the interior with all of the bright Rainbow cone colors as all of their locations have! They had a few tables inside to sit at as well to the left of the ordering area. There were a lot of people when I went but I expected that as Rainbow Cone is so popular and they just had opened. I ordered my tried and true Rainbow Cone and it was delightful as always. In addition, the staff was beyond kind and helpful despite how busy they were when I was there. My boyfriend got a chocolate shake which came with little donuts on top which I thought was adorable. Our ice cream was SO good as always and of course, we will be back. I will note, I noticed a few individuals talking about how long the wait time was (I waited maybe 10 minutes at best which isn't even long for the city honestly) but I need everyone to realize this is a NEW location and the staff is LEARNING. Please give them grace AND kindness as they work through their first few weeks of opening and I can promise you, you will not be disappointed if you go whether it be today or months from now. This place is fantastic along with their staff and I know you will have the same experience if you go! I cannot talk highly enough of Rainbow Cone and love this new location! The staff seemed nice enough, and it wasn't too busy but had a steady crowd moving through it when we were there on a recentThursday evening. The Bad: I think the owner/operator needs to work with the management of this store a bit more on training, and upkeep of the facilities. First, the trash was overflowing, which is just a bad look in any food service establishment, but it especially stands out when the store is brand new and adorable. Second, the bathroom was "out of order" (or at least, that's what the sign said, though I did see employees go in there and come out a few minutes later). If you look at this rainbow cone you'd think it was invented for social media. So many places are nowadays. Even the set up of this location would lead you to believe that. From the cute ice cream cone prop, to the bright colors and polka dots everywhere. But then! When you look at the back wall you see photos that show you the original location opened almost 100 years ago! The flavors of the cone are also "old" tasting in a way of being nostalgic. the orange sherbet is so refreshing and a standout that reminded me of my grandmother.
