I probably wouldn't have known they existed had I not received a local flier in the mail, so A+ for their marketing to get the word out! I noticed lots of brands I pay a hefty premium for at Westborn Market, so my wallet was more than willing to give Pelham a visit. The exterior of the building gives off a "liquor store" vibe, so keep a close eye to realize you're at your destination. The space is very open. It is not laid out like a normal grocery store, meaning it's got an open-concept versus miles of aisles. It's a fairly small space but not nearly as cramped as Westborn. You can pretty much figure out which direction to go from the front door. Pelham Market has a great selection of fresh veggies and fruits, all at reasonable prices. We were excited to see Sunset tomatoes, which are usually only sold in big-box stores. Everything on our fruit and veggie list was available here. If you're looking for a super-huge selection of organic-this and exotic-that, you won't find it here. But you will find the basics. The meat counter was well-stocked with some of my favorite brands including Boar's Head, Dearborn brand and Delallo. We picked up some delicious Delallo smoked turkey for only $4.99/lb, versus the cheapest turkey at Westborn for $6.99/lb. When you take your lunch to work every day, you'll really love the $2 difference per pound. Besides meats and cheeses, they also had a large selection of fresh salads, hummus, veggies and dips. They had very fair prices in their meat cooler as well. There are only two registers! So, if this place gets busy, I'm sure it'll be a pain to wait around. Luckily there were only a few people in line when we were ready to check out. The process of getting out was quick and painless! There was even an employee there to bag our items. Our shopping trip was about $20 less than we've been spending at Westborn. Sure, Pelham Market may not have 100 fancy cheeses or 12 varieties of canned tomatoes, but Jacob and I were more than pleased with their offerings of our weekly essentials.

The store is always clean, well-stocked, and has a great selection, but what really sets it apart is the people behind it. Marvin, the owner, is one of the most genuine and hardworking people you'll meet. He clearly takes pride in his store and in serving the Canton community. You can tell he cares about the customers and the neighborhood, and that kind of leadership shows throughout the entire place. His sons and the rest of the staff are just as friendly and helpful. Everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place where you're treated like a neighbor rather than just another customer. Marvin also does a lot for the community, which makes supporting this business feel even better. It's great to see a local owner giving back and building something positive for Canton. There is a butcher counter with fresh meats and chicken, plus marinated chicken Shawarma, tawook, kafta, etc.. Frozen section, dairy section, canned foods, lots of cookies and sweets. I noticed lots of imported cookies from Italy and other European countries, plus some much from the Middle East. The grocery selection is surprisingly good, I found a lot of products I would buy at Kroger. I was overcharged at the register, but I brought it to their attention and was given a refund.

Costco rotisserie chicken makes me very sick, but I can easily consume plum market, rotisserie chicken. We love their local and specialty items. My kids are obsessed with Tillamook cheese sticks. We've had really good service specifically in the produce and meat department with people helping us and going above and beyond. One time a produce worker offered to make a mirepoix (fresh cut vegetables for soup ) for us while we were shopping, and when I was introducing my baby to solid foods, I got a lot of great tips from the meat counter worker. I will say that the prices are exorbitant and some things. I wish I could shop here full-time but it is very expensive. But when you have allergies, they learn that some things are worth paying a little bit of a premium for. We will always come in for their produce and rotisserie chickens. The produce I buy here is always fresh and delicious and I've never had a problem with mold, bruises, or slimy vegetables. I can always trust the quality at Plum market. They have an app also which has some pretty great deals sometimes. Their hot case is delicious if you don't have a bunch of allergies. We used to enjoy that quite frequently. The fish and chips are really good. I love how the bathroom has a fresh bouquet of flowers. They are beautiful and such a nice touch. Firstly, the food that is theirs really good just by looking at it and what is offered but it's pretty pricey. I got their soup as well and I can't believe a medium lentil is about ten dollars. They do have a great selection of hard cider as well and I think that's moderately priced which isn't too bad. They were giving out free samples of their new bacon and I was really impressed with that. Store is really clean and feels really upscale. Overall, i thought this was a really good store but various things that I was looking forward to not exist here and my expectations were not blown away. Still a solid place to check out nonetheless.
