Owner needs to do a better check of his employees. I have a new vehicle and only brought it here to Stansfield for anything tire related. One of their members completely stripped my wheel lock key and didn't notify anyone and kept it to himself. Currently stuck with no wheel lock key with locks on all my wheels. Taking the locks off is an easy fix but the lack of responsibility is what drove me to leaving a review. Won't be returning here for service in the future. read more

I ruined a tire in a pothole. They were great about putting on the spare and ordering a new tire. My complaints comes after the new tire was installed. Heard lots of noise in my trunk the next day. Opened it only to see that the spare was tossed back in the trunk and the jack was loose and parts were sliding around. I'm elderly and trying to remove the trunk mats to attempt to reassemble everything in place. This is poor and lazy. It probably would've taken the young man a minute to just secure the spare. read more

I went in with a nail in my tire looking to get it patched but due to the placement of the nail being on the wall of the tire I had to get it replaced they didn't have my size in but said could order it for the next day. They put my spare on ordered the tire called me the next day and was in and out in 15 mins. They were very friendly and professional and I couldn't beat the price as tire warehouse wanted to charge me almost 100$ more. Thank you gentlemen! read more

Bought 4 new tires for my husband here under the premise that the tires were covered for the lifetime of the tire. Hubby called today because tire is flat and they are saying our information is incorrect and they will charge us to replace. I chose Stansfield Tire because Of Yelps rave reviews. I arrived at 9:30 am and there was one other customer there. I struggled to get into the office and had to ask for help because the entrance is not handicap accessible. So if you are elderly, handicap or traveling with a baby carriage don't go here. The people at the front desk were not friendly at all. They actually said I guess we can do your oil change and were not joking. I asked how long it would take and was told 30minutes maximum. After 45 minutes I asked how much longer it would take and was told 10 more minutes. Over an hour later I stood up to ask politely how much longer and was rudely rebuffed with "mam I don't know what to tell you it will take as long as it takes". I hadn't even said anything yet and was yelled at for standing up. When my car was done one attendant said "just get her out of here"! Yikes! I really don't feel like I deserved that treatment. I just moved to Lowell and was looking for a place to give my regular business. It will not be Stansfield Tire. They actually made me cry because they were so mean to me. read more

Don't let the name fool you - this is a full service auto repair shop. Family-owned and operated, these guys are good! They'll tell you what your car needs (and try to estimate how much time you have before it moves from "think about" to "it's time" status) and they'll tell you what you don't need (mfg recommends changing your oil every 5K rather than 3K so you're not ready yet) I'm a second generation customer and our family's 4 cars don't go anywhere else. Stansfields does great work at a fair price and you never have to wonder if you just had one of those ripoff experiences you read about because they realized the only thing you know about cars is how to start one. read more

I drove in at 8:05 AM for a flat repair and two hours later I left completely frustrated after watching the tire technician learn how to balance a wheel on my brand new 20 inch aluminum rim. I watched as he repeatedly hammered and removed lead weights nearly a dozen times before I told him to stop and just leave it as is and I'll go to another tire shop to get it balanced. They charge me $30 for that experience. On an unrelated sidenote, the entire property looks like it has been abandoned, trash and beer bottles everywhere and nobody is wearing a mask. I was hoping to support a local business but I'll be going to Sullivan next time. read more

I moved to Lowell in 2006 and the first time I needed an oil change, I stopped by Stansfield Tire simply because it was close to my house. Five years later, I would never bring my car anywhere else. Like the other reviewer said, they do all types of repairs, and they do the repairs fast and with a friendly attitude. The biggest reason I keep going back is that these guys are HONEST! They take the time to call and check with me before doing expensive repairs. When I first started going to Stansfield Tire, I was in school and did not have a lot of money to throw around. They understand that and never try to "sell" you extra services you don't need. I recently brought my car in, just a few minutes before closing time, because it had overheated. The next day they called me first thing in the morning to explain the problem and gave me several options. Eric had called around to many places to find the part I needed (a fan motor). He told me the range of prices from the dealership to the secondhand parts dealer so that I could make an informed decision. In the end I chose the dealer part because I wanted to get my car back faster. This was at about 3pm, and they went to get the part from the dealership and had my car ready by 5. I really appreciate how they always take the time to explain the situation. I don't know a lot about cars, and most repair places would take advantage of that to make an extra buck. I've only been here for my tires, but they've always charged fair prices and done quick work. Hell, they once gave me an incredible deal on 4 excellent tires just because they were overstocked and needed to move them. By incredible I mean half of what TireRack wanted for the same size/model. I called around and no one ever beat that. I've gone to them for 2 other sets of tires and every time they beat everyone else's prices. They're wicked friendly and worked with me well, although I've moved and they're not so close anymore, they're still high on my list whenever I need to call around to price tires. read more

Appalling customer service!! Condescending, degrading, dishonest shop. Worst experience with an auto shop ever. My alignment was completely off and I went in to get it fixed. In addition, the traction control light was constantly on. After they supposedly completed an alignment, my traction control light was still on. They advised me to go to the dealer about the light. When I went to the dealer, the dealer ran a computerized wheel alignment assessment. The dealer indicated the alignment was dangerously off. The dealer completed the alignment for me and my car's traction control light subsequently went off since the car was now properly aligned. The dealer insisted I go back to Stansfield to get my money back because I was clearly ripped off and put in a dangerous situation. When I arrived at Stansfield, I was treated deplorably. The 2 employees told me the dealers are all liars and how did I even know those alignment measurements were from my car? One of the employees said they couldn't deal with me and stormed off. I was told I needed to learn a life lesson. I have never been treated in such a manner. It is astonishing that this shop is still in business. I would never recommend anyone ever go to this shop unless you want to be ripped off, degraded, and treated disgustingly. I will be certain to make sure my experience with this shop is known so others will not be taken advantage of. read more

1/6/2018 My wife went to the store about 1/2 mile away. Rear Right tire might have been low air for while, and she came back home with very bad flat. I tried to put air in and it not due to tire is off the rim on one side. so i took wheel out and inspect. No hold, no damage and no cut. I brought to Stansfield Tire in Lowell, MA. A gentleman in the front desk said to no, the tire is no good because my wife drove with the flat. I insist him that I will wait for the tech to inspect first. 1h30min later, he came back and told me the same that the tire is no good, there is a small cut near the rim. I asked him to take off my spare tire and put in the rim that i have flat on. He told me, it will damage the transmission because it different tire. So I ask him if he has the same kind of tire to put in, he look in the computer and told me that he has will cost $240 and will be here Monday. I don't wait for 2 days, so I brought my flat tire back home. I went on YouTube.Com and search for how to put the air in a bad flat tire. i took of the small insert from the tire valve where put the air in and put the air in. By do this will be 100% air in and push the tire out to the rim edge then I put back the insert inside the tire air valve back and put the air in. It works like a charm. i did not buy new tire and my tire are still good and have been holding the air at the same psi that I put in. So don't believe anything that anyone told you, if you know your tire is good. Search google or watch Youtube the issue that you may run into. read more

I just had my oil changed at Stansfield. I thought I would support a small business close to work, thinking I would receive quality service. It was embarrassing. After lifiting the vehicle, (toyota tundra), they could not find the oil drain plug. I had to show them. The skid plate needs to removed to access the oil filter. They strugged with this,( I had show them again). They drained the oil, and then went to put the skid plate back on without changing the filter. Unbelievable! it was as if none of them had ever preformed an oil change before. Completely untrained and unprofessional. They are not mechanics. I requested to inspect the work before payment, they said no and even threatened to call the police. Also, it was $48.73 for an oil change!!! Overpriced and complete butchers....STAY AWAY. read more

First time visiting and very pleased with the service. I called in the morning for tires they did not have in stock. Eric called around for the tires and called me back a little while later. He was able to order the tires at a reasonable rate, including mount and balance, and have them in the shop for me to have put on that same day after I finished work. I've had bad luck with other tire shops in the past but here I found quick service, honest staff, reasonable rates, and great customer service. I will be back for tire needs in the future. read more
