My car had a flat tire. I called triple A. They sent me here. When I arrived the owner saw the tow truck and was in disgust they brought me here. When I went inside and spoke with the young man at the front door he said they don't have many tires and most likely couldn't fix it today (without even looking at it). Caring, Honest, Family Business Once again Sutton Street Service has provided me with excellent, fast care on my Rogue. When I lived in North Andover they were who I always went to for all my car care but once we moved I had to go to a service center near me do to my work hours. I brought my car to the other facility 3 times for the same reason. They charged me $125.00 each time they looked at it and would tell me nothing was wrong. Last Saturday the other facility had my car again and when I got it back the check engine light was on. They told me there was nothing wrong with it and that it wasn't their fault the check engine light was on. I called Sutton Street Service Monday and asked if it was possible to drop my car off on Tuesday night and have them look at it Wednesday as I was able to arrange transportation to work for me to be able to have a service center I trust look at my car. They told me to bring it in and they would look at it Wednesday. They called me early Wednesday morning, let me know what was wrong with my car and let me know they could have it fixed by the end of the business day. I was in shock but so happy. I know something was wrong with my car and I am so glad they had the time to look it over and fix it so quickly for me. Moving forward I will always make time to take my car to Sutton Street Service even if that means taking the day off of work to be able to bring it to them. Thank you guys very much for such excellent service as always, for fitting me in and for fixing my Rogue. It drives so much better now. read more

Avoid this place. They charge higher than dealer price. They are ripoff artists. They give $1200 estimate for changing my old Kia brakes with limited warranty. Same work by Firestone would cost me $900 with life time warranty. read more

I love these guys. My family has had three cars serviced here for over 12 years. We have had Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry and a Honda Pilot service here for most of their life. In fact the Honda Pilot has 274,000 miles so I think they are taking good car of my car. Even though my home is in Maine I STILL try to have my car serviced here whenever I am in the area for business or pleasure. I have actually had it towed all the way from Maine once as I know I can trust this family run business, sons, Dad, Mom and sister all work here .... they are very trustworthy and the best feature of all is they tell you what to expect for cost and hold to it even if it takes longer than they expect. I hadn't been to Sutton Street in a couple of years as I had recently bought a new car but when my breaks started to grind my first thought was 'I have to call over to Sutton Street asap!' I called at 8am and talked to Cody who told me to bring my car in and they would check it from bumper to bumper as I also needed an inspection sticker. A couple hours after dropping off Cody called me and told me I needed new breaks and 2 new front tires to pass my inspection. He gave me pricing to replace my current tire brand and gave me an option for a cheaper brand if I wanted. A big reason I go to and trust Sutton Street, I never feel they are trying to upcharge me. I gabe Cody the go ahead and got my vehicle back by 4om the same day. Cody made sure to inform me that after my repairs the rest of my vehicle was in great shape and also my breaks were warranted for 2 years. Great service from beginning to end. I have been to Sutton Street 5 times over the years and every time it has been a positive experience, cannot recommend them enough. Do not go here Chip is dishonest. I went to Sutton Street service for an inspection sticker. Chip failed my Jeep, and told me I had an exhaust leak, in front of the muffler, he would not make eye contact, but said we can make an appointment now to have the work done. Even if there was a small leak I would have been able to hear it, because it was in front of the muffler, and it was straight exhaust. I went to another inspection station and the guy said I can figure this out quickly. He plugged up the tailpipe, and the car stalled, which told him there was lots of back pressure and no leak in front of the tailpipe. The other mechanic subsequently passed my car for inspection. We used to go to Chip for repairs on our Chevy Blazer 10-12 years ago. Chip was terrible at the diagnostics, and would just try to replace parts based on a hunch. He also was terrible with the electronics, and was always looking for a mechanical solution to what was frequently an electrical problem. He was always nice and pleasant, but he is dishonest and incompetent, which is a bad combination for a mechanic. Do not believe the other reviews that are favorable, these are probably his friends or people do not know they got ripped off or overcharged. read more

This place is beat!! Had some work done there 2 years ago. Guy tells me he's going to put "performance" muffler on my truck and all he does is puts on one of those stupid tips so it looks like it's performance.. no 2 years later all the work they did rusted out... Brought my car in for an estimate at this shop. The owner I believe, Chip called me with the price and details. After he gave me the information I started to ask a few questions about the job, which he did not like. He responded " I don't like your attitude, and don't want to be questioned on everything." I explained that I am not a mechanic, and was just trying to understand a little better about the job. I then told him I needed to make a phone call first but will get back to them on the go ahead or not. He then told me "You know what, I don't need your $825 that badly, just come get your car and bring it somewhere else" and hung up on me. I can not believe how unprofessional he is. As a business owner myself, I know the importance of customer service and kindness and I would never turn away business simply because someone was asking questions. My 1996 GMC Jimmy had a definite malfunction the other day. AAA could get it jumped, but as soon as we turned it off, it was dead as a doornail again. I'm new in town, and wasn't sure where to take it, so we just chose the closest place to our house. What serendipity! Sutton Street Service was polite, professional, and honest. They looked at my car the same day, gave me a realistic and very reasonable quote, had everything fixed when they said it would be fixed, and didn't charge a penny more than they said they would. My Infiniti QX4 had been having erratic starting issues. The Infiniti dealer could not identify what the issue was neither could a higher rated service station around the corner. I brought the truck in, and Ian quickly identified what the issue was (crankshaft not reading what gear the car is in so she won't start). In addition, he set up an appointment early in the week to service the truck and correct the issue. I must say the service was extremely professional and very efficient. Not to mention, he was quite pleasant with a positive attitude talking to this somewhat frustrated owner. It's good to know there are still excellent "mom and pop" stations out there!!! read more

Great experience with a trust-worthy family business. The clutch on my Corolla was due for replacement so I first called the local Toyota dealer for a quote. I thought their number was high but then, clutch replacement is a labor hour-intensive job. I figured I could do better, though. Due to other high ratings here on Yelp, I called Sutton Street Service. Their quoted price was HALF that of the dealer. The cynical part of my brain thought "Oh, here we go! Low price to get you in the door but then a big surprise later on." But I love a good argument so I went for it. While getting the work scheduled, I mainly dealt with Ian which was a pleasure. He kept me up to date with parts availability and set up a rental car for me. The work was done when they said it would be so it was finally time to go get my baby. I got there fully expecting the worst. I walked into the office heavily armed with a verbal battery ranging from sharply pointed one-liners to full-on arm waving rants covering topics from business integrity to the general state of our society. It was gonna be quite a show! Then came the number..... It was $75 LESS than what was quoted! Of course, I was mostly relieved. But also perplexed on what to do with the metric ton of zingers I'd lost all that sleep generating the night before. I got the opportunity to chat with the owner (who's son also works at the shop) while getting things wrapped up. Really nice guy. I would have given a good rating no matter what but it was actually the conversation with him that motivated me to write so much here- most of which was obviously just for your entertainment. My parents owned a small business when I was growing up. I learned how important integrity and personality are when you're small enough that every customer matters and every sale matters. These guys practice that same philosophy. I honestly believe that anyone that goes to this shop will get a fair deal regardless of gender, age or anything else. These are good, honest people...pretty rare in an industry that's riddled with snakes and cheats. Give 'em a call! read more

Excellent, fast service and very reasonably priced. When I got to the shop, I told the guys I'd been to jiffy lube recently, where they tried to upsell me big time despite only going on for an oil change and new wipers. If jiffy lube had their way, I would have ended up dropping over $1000 on new brakepads and calipers for all 4 wheels. At the risk of missing out on charging me more, the guys at Sutton Street were honest and up front, telling me all I needed was new pads for the back wheels. Even better, the car was in and out in about 24 hours. Best service experience I've ever had, you've got a customer for life. read more

I brought my 2012 Liberty to Sutton Street for a heater coil replacement. The price quoted was cheaper than the dealership. That was great. However, when I received the car back, it was not right. I had to return the car the next day to have a ground wire fixed. A few weeks later, when the weather turned cold, I turned my heat on and there was cold air coming out of the floor area. Upon looking part of the dash assembly was missing. I made an appointment and brought the car in when asked to. The car was not looked at until the following day. When Chip called me he told me that it was another component in the electronics that was causing the problem. I said that was okay and that I'd check with my warranty to see if the dealership would cover it. I then asked him about the missing molding. "Oh you brought it to me that way. " Um no I didn't. Then he accused me of yelling at him. This is after I missed two days of work because he didn't look at the car when scheduled. He then went on to say what do you expect, your car has 84,000 miles on it. What does that have anything to do with anything. He then started ranting and asked if I ever had a bad day and made a mistake. Then tells me "I owned up to it". What??? As opposed to what? Lying about it. (which he did, he lost my molding) So, all in all I brought the car in three times to only get yelled at, berated, disrespected and told "whatever" and hung up on. I have a leased car and will have to replace the molding myself. Avoid this place. Chip has a "chip" on his shoulder and when he can't get it right the first time blames you. He cares nothing about inconveniencing his customers and acts like he's doing you a favor. I'm paying you. Zero respect and nasty to females for sure! read more

I recently started a new job and wanted to find a place to get an oil change nearby work. First time I got one at Sutton Street Service, no problem. A little pricey but nothing I haven't seen elsewhere. Second time I go for an oil change and mention my car was shakey while braking on the highway and I think I needed a new brake set. I come back after work for the owner to tell me my control arms are shot along with several other components with a very detailed pricing sheet. With labor, the cost would be a little over $1600. Ouch. After seeing the price, I decided to have it also checked by the mechanic I had gone to before I started the job and he quickly said that Sutton Street Service was trying to scam me. My control arms were fine and all that happened was that my rotors warped (worse and worse over time). Since they were still under warranty with my previous receipt of when they were done, all he needed to charge me was a very reasonable price for labor. I will never return to Sutton Street Service and recommend that no one go there without a general knowledge of what they're trying to do to your car. At worst, get a second opinion from another mechanic. That's a disgusting way to run a business. read more

Omg!! I had a bad battery and had my car towed there. Got it back after 2 days with a $265.00 bill. The next day my car would not start again. I asked if someone from the garage could give me a jump start eo i could reurn the car there because they were only a half a mile away . They said no. I finally got the car to the garage on a monday just before the 4th of July. They called me on Tuesday saying they were looking for the problem and would call me on Wednesday. They never called and closed for 5 days holding my car hostage. I was then told my car had a power draw that they could not find so I should get rid of the car. Not believing them I did my own inspection on the "new battery" they sold me and found it was no good. Made them install a good battery and my car is now fine. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! THEIR SERVICE IS TERRIBLE WITH RUDE BEHAVIOR THROWN IN YOUR FACE!!! read more

Stay away!!! I brought my 2006 F-150 there for an inspection sticker. I received a rejection sticker because they said I needed ball joints on both wheels. I was livid knowing from recent shock absorber replacement that my joints were fine. I went to a tire dealer for new tires and it was confirmed my joints were fine. I followed that with another inspection station where the truck passed with flying colors. I notified the North Andover Police having witnessed them having their cars repaired there. Incredibly unprofessional, very slow and unreliable. I went for an inspection and waited an hour-and-a-half for the internet to come back, to which the owner told me that wasn't "his fault," even though his manager told me they had known about the problem for years. I went to this local place because it's in my hometown, but was totally dissatisfied. The owner literally had me in tears. I had actually come for a re-inspection after I failed on my tires ---- he actually got mad at me for not getting tires with HIS place and tried to slam the door on me when I asked for a refund, after I waited two hours for internet to return. Another customer was mid-inspection when the internet went out a second time. I doubt they gave him his money back either! But the refund is inconsequential here. What was really distressing is how immature and nasty the owner was, especially for trying to guilt me into feeling like I should buy tires from him, when I told him, it's not even advertised Sutton's provide such a service. So disappointing. I will never go back again. read more

Got charged over a $100 for telling me something I already knew. I told them I needed rear brakes and they charged me over $40 for "the inspection". The check engine light was on and they gave me a break and "only" charged me $65 for connecting to the OBD port to read codes. I got a bit irritated at the charges and Chip asked me if I worked for Free. No I don't but I do not over charge people either. Anyway, call it difference of opinion, but I think that giving people quotes should be free or a minor expense. Now, as a customer, I paid over $100 and got nothing out of it. They told me nothing that I did not already know. read more
