You can virtually try on frames by opening your camera, and it will show you what you look like with those particular frames! With my face that was a bit scary. Once I chose my frames, one of the associates helped me order my lenses. Simple lenses are done in-house and can be done within an hour! Of course, since I'm vintage, I need progressives with no line, and progressive lenses take up to a week and a half. However, I received a message by text informing me they were ready for pickup in only 6 days. I also got a couple other add ons like the anti-glare, anti-scratch coating (the latter I believe should be standard and included from the start). I wound up paying probably a tad more than what I paid for my current one pair of glasses, but for the price I am getting two pairs. The service I received was professional and friendly. They adjusted the ear pieces for a perfect fit. I'm pleased with my purchase.

This is the SAMs Scan and Go app, available in your iPhone/Android devices. The only reason why I have a SAMs card is because I am a teacher. I sometimes need to buy things in bulk as incentives for my students. However, the items I buy are rarely more than 10 items combined, and I know specifically what I want and where to find it. It used to take me longer to wait in line at a register to pay and to put the items I needed in the cart. Along comes the Scan and Go app. With it, after you register your SAMs card and your debit card, you can scan the items that you want as you put them in the cart with your phone. The app will tally up your items total on the fly. When you are ready to leave SAMs, just click "Checkout," and you pay within the app. No need to make a line at the registers anymore. I just pay at whatever point of the store I happen to be, walk straight to the exit, then show my digital receipt to have it scanned (as is customary for these type of stores) and I'm on my way to the vehicle. I have done this 3 times now, and I turned what would normally be a 25 minute trip into a 7 minute trip. If more stores do something like this, shopping anywhere would be a more pleasant experience everywhere. I commend Sam's for being a trailblazer in the Scan and Pay department. Tip my hat to you.

They don't explain their charges til the end. I Went in for prescription for eyeglasses and they charged me over $150 - with two insurances! First of all they charged me $ for being a new patient then, $ for copay, then $ for some eye mapping,more $ for eyeglasses prescription and $ for an overpriced eyewash. I went home and called my vsp plan to see what happened but these people didn't submit paperwork! They billed my health insurance as a "medical visit" rather than billing the vision plan for a vision exam. They did not use my VSP vision plan because they would get more $money out of my medical insurance. According to them, it doesn't make a difference, but it does to me. I ended up dishing out more money than I needed to. And Dr Liska almost cried as he complained that he would have to do more paperwork if I made them resubmit my claim the proper way. He went on and on with his paperwork filing story. It took almost 20 minutes! Not only that, my daughter was also charged over $100 for her contact lens prescription too. According to them it was due to her not having a preauthorization. Really? I called the insurance and it was all bull. We went back and sure enough we got a refund of $100 after we called the insurance and handed them the phone. We were supposed to have paid only the copay $ for her insurance plan.
