Tried to buy a printer. Asked which were laser / color laser. The employee said 'oh, I don't know and cruised away'. Found one and queued up. Stood in line while the cashier took and order. My first time ever leaving a review because i don't waste my energy, but the manager is a complete asshole. He literally told one of his employees "I don't mean to be an asshole, but..." and then proceeded to be an asshole. Then I went to return my Amazon purchase, and he slams my headphones on the counter which is completely unprofessional. I asked for a receipt and he obviously had an attitude about it then proceeds to slam other things around and hand me my receipt in an aggressive manner. Went inside to have passport photo done for my online renewal as white backgrounds were coming up beige or off white. One man was helping a customer at the Amazon return and a female associate came from the back of the store and went behide the customer service desk. I went up and ask if they did digital passport photos and she hesitated and finally said yes sure. She left and came back with a camera and we took the pictures. She insisted I had to show my ears which is not true. She took to pictures and left to get them. She return and handed my an envelope and a usb stick and I paid for it. As I was walking out I looked at the picture and I looked like a deranged person. She did nothing to help the picture look better and I have a MAC so no usb drive. This person was horrible. Next time I'll buy from Amazon at least they stand by their products. Bought a new Canon TR 8600 printer and after 30 days it won't work. Called the not-at-all helpful Staples expert who said they only warranty for 14 days to take into the store and they might be able to help us get it to work or call the manufacture. After only having it 30 days and using it less than 10 times you know I'm seriously pissed. We'll call Canon and hopefully we'll get better customer service than Staples offered. A Tale of Two Staples: Four months ago, I needed laminated ID cards printed. I had the most helpful Staples employee providing quality service then, and I left very satisfied. She took my pdfs over email, printed them out, trimmed them, laminated them, and punch the skinny rectangular slit for the clip. She even offered to round the corners of the laminate for me. Contrast that with the experience I had today when I went in for more ID Cards. Today, I had "the supervisor who's been working there for nine years." 1. I stood at the counter for two minutes while her and another employee finished a conversation about the weather. 2. When I asked her for an ID Card print job, she looked at me with a scowl. 3. I sent her the pdfs. She printed them out and handed me the paper. She directed me to the paper cutter to cut the cards myself. I did. 4. I handed them back to me, and she laminated 4 of them at a time, and handed them to me. I asked, aren't you going to trim them? Again, she told me to do it. 5. I said, what about the rectangular holes? She said, "We don't have that tool here." I reminded her that four months ago they did. She said, "I'm the supervisor here. I've been here for nine years. I promise you we don't have that tool." I asked her to check. Maybe you do have it, and you're just not aware. She looked over at the counter where they keep the punches... from across the room. She said, "Nope. We don't have it." I asked her to go over and check, please. She walked over toward the counter and stopped 10 feet from it. "Nope, we don't have it." I asked her to look a little closer, please. She refused. This woman does not belong in customer service. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. read more

From the minute you walk in the door and are overpowered by the horrible smell, to the employees who do not acknowledge your presence at the counter with at least a "I'll be right with you" or anything close and a five minute visit takes 30, it's frustrating for many reasons. I asked one of the only women there if she noticed the fowl odor and she said she thought the whole town had a bad odor. I asked her what she meant and she said she didn't like the people and finally admitted she didn't like California. I didn't go there to hear her personal gripes. It was strange. On my last visit I waited at the counter to return my Amazon order with employees walking by but not acknowledging me for four minutes, then I said hello to a young employee who was walking by and he said snidely and without looking at me, "yeah I saw you, but I'm helping someone else so I'll be back when I can". Finally, the manager came. Mostly, their attitudes are pretty sad and very poor customer service. It's like they all hate it there. I hope the owners take notice and try to save the place. Store: 1385 On Saturday, Oct 8, 2022, I called Staples for information and Margaret answered the phone. She was very helpful, courteous and willing to help me. She ran to check for the item I needed and told me the battery I needed was in the store. I told her I would be right there. She had pulled the item and had it at the register for me. I was so pleased with the item and with Margaret. Also, I am 87 yrs old so I appreciate that kind of assistance. She was so helpful fixed everything that we needed and reprinted the section that I needed in 24 hours. The price was much cheaper than I could have had done anywhere else. I came in to buy an inexpensive bluetooth headset about 6 weeks ago , the assistant manager talked me into a unit that cost around 90 bucks, last night it died. I went in this afternoon and they refused to exchange it or return it. I told them amazon has lower prices and returns things with no hassle when items are defective. Staff was polite yet completely unhelpful, I encourage all small business owners to steer clear of this store when purchasing expensive items. I'm not sure where these positive reviews for the Print & Service center are coming from - In the past 3 years I've lived here (I literally around the corner from Staples) every single encounter has been horrendous. The print staff - particularly the heavyset woman with long brown hair, chooses to turn their backs on the customers and make book bindings or do other work than help the person in front of them. This has been the case when I'm the only one in line AND when I've been in line with 3 or 4 other customers. You'll literally print faster buying your own printer and hooking it up at home. Don't go there if you expect any kind of service. I used the self help printer and wanted to drop off 2 UPS packages, simple enough, right. I waited in line at customer service and the girl told me I don't do that, you can just put them over there, if you want a receipt you have to wait in the print center line. I did want a receipt and not just leave them on a random counter for someone to take. I waited in the print center line for 10 minutes, the one employee working there seemed overwhelmed and was struggling to help the 1 customer in front of me. 1 other employee was just wandering around, didn't really looked to interested in helping out. There were paper cuttings all over the floor behind the print counter. I left and went to another UPS drop off in town and was helped immediately. The printing guy went on break so instead of waiting a half hour, I asked if he could print those out for me. He had no customers-as I was the only one in the store. This is the slowest Staples ever. If you need to make 1 copy, have in mind you will need at least 25 minutes off to make it! The employees are very slow, not motivated and usually not very interested in their jobs. I have come several times now, and the first time they didn't had a staple to borrow, the second time their cutter was broken and today I waited 20 minutes for the lady to give me the copies underneath the counter, because she was too busy talking to another employee and doing other jobs. Pretty friendly staff ever time I go into this Staples. They usually offer help finding anything or answer any questions I have. The prices vary, sometimes I find good deals on school supplies (binders, paper, pens, etc) and sometimes not so much. Although the other day I went to Staples to get some ink for my printer and was shocked by how cheap it was. I remember paying anywhere from 19.99 to 39.99 for one ink cartridge but instead I got 4 for 49.99! read more
