This is my go to Staples in Maine. It's super conveniently located, it's got plenty of parking (albeit it in a mildly chaotic lot and with tight spaces), it's clean and well organized, there's clear signage, and the staff is EXCEPTIONAL. I try to make it a point to make my returns here, do my printing here, and have any of my government-issued photos done here. The staff is so competent and so thoughtful and so efficient and so patient. For returns: you couldn't ask for a more patient staff (especially if you're patient with and kind to them; I've seen plenty of rude customers who a) wanted to skip the line because they had a "simple" return [where they assumed they could just toss their UNBOXED item with NO paperwork on the counter and walk away], or b) started belittling other customers for taking too long). Whether your QR code doesn't immediately work or you suddenly can't find it in the chaos that is your inbox or are returning seventeen items individually (...which I witness nearly every time I'm here), they got you and try to make quick work of the process. For printing: they always have me double and triple check that everything looks correct, and are - again - so patient as I meticulously scour the work. The other day, I watched them gently run after a woman because they realized they had made an error with her printing and, while she didn't catch it, they did, and wanted to make it right immediately. For photos: I recently had to have very particular government photos taken (that are not the normal size, and other Staples don't even offer the exact dimensions/the exact service I needed), and they a) knew exactly what I needed which immediately put me at ease, b) went out of their way to make sure all information that was needed on the back of the photos was available (going out of their way to fix it themselves when they weren't sure I had enough of the info that might be needed). I feel confident when I come to this Staples for all my business and professional needs!! read more

Easy process for Amazon returns and UPS package shipping! The desk is to the right as you enter. The couple of times I was here, there wasn't a line. The interaction was purely transactional. They only needed to scan the bar codes on the pre-paid packages I was sending. The person at the counter was polite, said very few years and smiled for the "greeting" but not much else to the interaction. Parking is easy which is a plus. I can't rate the service or knowledge of the staff, but overhearing other conversations with customers...I would say, this is a good drop point for packages. read more

If you have to ship anything by UPS, go somewhere else that does shipping, not a retail store with printing services. I was sending 2 packages to the same town, needed one to get there before the other, assumed that 2nd day air would be faster than ground. The store rep, did not bother to check the delivery dates by each option. I paid 2x as much for 2nd day air which would arrive a day after the ground service. I asked if could re-do the transaction before I had paid and was told no, turns out not true. The print shop is great but drive 5 minutes down the street to another shipping location! read more

This store is so rude and unhelpful. Went in yesterday to buy a laptop cord and needed assistance. Employees have new grey T shirts which barely identify Staples on the front. I approached an older guy who seemed to be putting things back and asked if he worked there, as the logo on the shirt is not obvious. He moved his hand and said nothing. I asked a second time, at which time he pointed to the white Staples name in the sentence on the T (very odd and poorly designed T shirt uniform). Then he said uhhhhh, and rolled his eyes in a condescending way. Why is it so hard to just say, yes, ma'am! I do! How can I help?? Go elsewhere even if it's a drive. Robert in the print and copy area saved my bacon today. I emailed docs (incorrectly, it turns out) to the on-demand printing service. He took care of the problem and got me out the door quickly. I needed them for a public event and I don't know what I would've done without them. He's knowledgeable and patient when dealing with clients. Kudos to Robert! read more

Store hours state open at 9, arrived at 9:15 to doors locked, called the store with recording telling me they are open. After waiting 30 minutes at seeing 12 customers walk up, call and leave I'm done waiting and will not return read more

This remains the worst run Staples store I have ever visited. The staff is in no hurry to get anything done. They are not friendly. It is always a mess. Go anywhere except here for your office needs. read more

Terrible stock, no office furniture. Tried to buy a chair. The sales lady couldn't give a s--t. They didn't have it in stock, they wouldn't sell the floor model, and she refused to call around to see if another staples had one. She told me to call myself. Never going back. read more

I'm convinced the only reason to set foot inside a Staples - short of it being some kind of tornado or other government-approved disaster shelter - is for the copy center. Everything else can be found at either Walmart (RIGHT NEXT DOOR) or Target for 20% less - or online for 20%+ off. Unfortunately because I do not own a printer and I only access the printer at my work office (in Boston) once a week, I am forced to come here for printing about 2 times a month. It's really not that bad however, as black and white print jobs are only $0.12/copy. Just be sure to select black and white instead of color, or you'll be paying a bunch more. I've used Staples copy centers across the US for on-the-road work print jobs, and this is probably better than most of the others. The printers are in good working condition, the USB ports all work, and the staff seem to know what they're doing. But it's still Staples. read more

I came in this morning looking for help. The lady at the printer machines didn't even let me finish my question at all and dismissed me. I was struggling for about 10 min. so i decided to get help from another employee who was up front. He was very helpful but seemed annoyed. The lady didn't even give me the proper instructions. if she had let me finish i wouldn't have any problems. but after the guy helps which literally took a min. he sighed very loudly and said "i don't even work in this department" very rudely. On our vacation to Maine, we had the unfortunate experience of both our iPhones dying. We drove more than an hour from Westport Island, where we were staying, to Portland to visit the only Apple Store. My husband's phone was shot, but mine needed a new battery. The price Apple wanted to charge to replace a battery on an old phone, $80, was prohibitive. On our search for a reasonable replacement, we visited both Best Buy and Staples. In the process we visited three Staples stores in the vicinity, ending up at the Falmouth store. Everyone we encountered at Staples was courteous, helpful and professional. They went out of their way to track down the correct battery and to install it for us for $29. The phone has worked perfectly since. We had no idea they had Apple-certified techs. From now on they will be at the top of our list for any cell-phone repairs. BIG thumbs up. read more

I strongly recommend going anywhere else but here to print. the sales associate was rude on the phone and in the store and couldn't be bothered to help me at all. super disappointed that only place to print full size prints treats their customers like this. every time I go in it's as if I'm a nuisance to them. Today was the last straw, they've lost my companies business. read more

Terrible customer service. The people are rude. The services are limited. Don't ever try to get your. Computer fixed here, because they don't do anything besides run updates and then charge upwards of $200. read more

I walked into the store on a Monday, intending to purchase some business cards, letterhead and envelopes from the print shop. Two and a half weeks later after 2 error filled proofs and back and forth emailing, I finally got the opportunity to pay and order. They intended to charge me a $20 design fee for each item simply because I changed the phone number from my old stationary. No design changes necessary. Plus, it would still be another 2 weeks before my order was ready. So, after thinking about it for a minute, I canned the order and walked into a local print shop instead. After one day, my order is being printed, with no error filled proofs and for about $175 less. It will be ready in a week. Staples conducted themselves like an amateur operation from start to finish. I'm happy I came to my senses and looked at a local print shop. read more
