Staples will accept returned items purchased from Amazon. After you fill out the required information on the Amazon App, you will receive a return QR code and you can bring back the item in its original box. Packaging material and printed postage labels are not needed. This feature makes it easy to return items. The only slight disadvantage is navigating to the Online Return line. The front end has multiple lines and I wasn't sure which line to choose because the Amazon Returns Drop-Off signs were on the floor; I didn't notice this until after the fact. I would recommend re-locating the Amazon signs somewhere that is eye level. Each time I patronize this STAPLES store, I am struck by the employees' eagerness to help me. Yesterday we no different. When I asked Edouardo if there was a way to change the size of the output image in the print dialogue box, he explained that it could be done only when output from his computer. He took my usb. We agreed, after viewing the preview, on an output size and he printed all my images in one fell swoop, all the while being courteous and pleasant. I had dreaded having to return to my computer to change all the image sizes and then making another trip to print -- and voila! I did not have to. Miracle. I like this store because it is kind of an underdog store but the personnel is top-drawer so I patronize it whenever I need something it sells. read more

Review is for printing services. I came in there to print 2 posters and some post cards. I was in there for about an hour. The woman who was helping me was very kind but she seemed to be having a lot of technical difficulty. From not being able to get the printer to respond, to not accurately fitting my design on the 8x10 cardstock. I had post cards I wanted to fit onto 1 8x10 sheet ( 2 on 1 ) and this woman told me this was not possible. After a very long time , another male came to her rescue with an annoyed facial expression. Not one smile and he barely made eye contact when he asked me questions. You work with customers and this is your customer service? Very displeasing. So, not only did he place 2 notecards on 1 sheet for me ( like I originally asked but was told not possible), he also fixed the misalignment of my other poster.... in less than 5 minutes. He made me aware my file wasn't sized right but if I was told this I could have resent it appropriately. This leads me to believe the employees are not being trained properly and accurately. I was given information that is inaccurate and clearly the woman who was helping me had a lot of difficulty with 0 help until it was an hour later. I am very unhappy with this entire experience and will never come back to this staples. I would rather drive out of the way to another location than deal with this mess. Horrible experience. The woman in the print center is not accommodating. She gave me a pickup time of closing at the beginning of the day when there was barely anyone in the store. Then when I got home I called the store and asked to speak to a manager as I wanted to transfer my business to a different location. I asked the manager for his name so I could get his assistance with the transfer. He refused to give me his name by saying "my name is staples manager". Clearly all the employees at this location are inconsiderate and if these were my employees I would fire them immediately. read more

Okaaaay, so I guess it was Bring Your Dog to Work day. Love it! But unless you're working at an animal shelter your customers should be your first priority not the dog. I'm pretty knowledgeable in the self help area but there are some people who still need direction & guidance, especially if it's their first time to a Staples. The staff should be on the floor assisting customers not crowding around their co-worker's pooch. The self help area here is quite small compared to other Staple offices and FEDEX Office. Lastly, I have yet to get a smiling or personable team member at checkout at ANY Staples I've been to. What is it about Staples that makes their staff so unhappy? Where do I begin? Aside from the fact that the print staff chose to argue with me when they can't understand how to properly crop a holiday card, then blaming the operating system I was using for their mistake, the staff is rude and has no idea what they are talking about. I will plan ahead and order from Shutterfly next year. Not worth the headache of arguing about how my operating system makes no nevermind when the template was completed in a web browser. The proof that was downloaded (in pdf format) is only resizable, but the individual photos can't be reorganized as the staff member insisted was the issue. If the formatting is changing from the (proofed and approved) website submission to the store, that is the store's problem, not the customer's. Why does formatting remain the same with every single other photo product website I have used on my mac? Explain that to me, "IT specialist" printer lady with your condescending tone. The point of my rant is that the final product was nothing like what I had agreed to when I hit "submit" on your webpage. If a customer comes in and you've clearly been lazy and printed something drastically different from the original hoping I won't look into it, maybe don't argue with them about it and just fix it next time. The location of your store is convenient, but that will be my last dime spent there. read more

The Hackensack store has to be the worst Staples I've ever shopped in. Staff was rude and dismissive. In tried to return a defective paper shredder. Instead of a helpful staff I was handed a number to call so maybe I could get store credit. I spent an infuriating 2 hours on my phone talking to customer service while the employees were on their phones. Awful. Finally employee Mary approached and actually helped me. Bravo. I stood at the service counter for 5 minutes with no acknowledgement (2 clerks 'talking story' behind the counter). I finally got the attention from one clerk. I showed him the printing job I needed - he claimed it would take him approx. 4 minutes to complete this task. He then told me this 'printing job' would be ready for 'pick up' the next morning (with 5 hours left before closing time?). I kindly asked if this could be completed sometime tonight? He said... Printing services: I recently brought 2 simple print jobs to Staples at 466 Hackensack Ave. First they charged me double ($210!) for the same job I did there last year. When I asked to see the breakdown of the costs, two employees got very hostile and only reluctantly re-figured the cost: $91. They insisted on charging me a rush fee even though I did not need it for any specific time. Then they misaligned a letter so 100 photocopies had a big black splotch all over the top and the bottom of the letter was missing. When I saw the job, the employee said, "So you're not going to take this?" I photocopied it myself in 10 minutes. Then when I got home, I saw that one of the spiral Haggadah booklets was missing the front page: garbage. We gotta find a more competent photocopy store where the employees understand the relationship between treating the customers well and their paycheck. read more

So I bring it in and deal with the guy behind the tech desk. Yup, back in 24 hours. But once I take it home, I discover absolutely no improvement. What's going on? So I unhook it and schlep it back. Next day, they hadn't even looked at it! Despite the "24 hours or it's free" offer. I have to leave it yet another day (Thank god I have a laptop.) So now it's day three and this time, my pc is ready. Really? I get it home and guess what? Still the same problem. These "techies" apparently know little about computers and less about customer service. Do yourself a favor, take your computer to a computer repair shop. And Staples is not it! read more

If you want office supplies, Staples is great! If you want something else, go elsewhere. Took an 8.5 x 14 calendar that I printed at home to get spiral bound. Was told to come back the next day. Came back two hours after I was told the next day, not only was it not done but they couldn't find it at first. After it was located, they tried to do it even though they had no clear cover to out on it or a 14" spiral. I left there with a ruined calendar (they sliced off the tops of most of the pages), no back or front cover, a 12" spiral AND a $20 off coupon IF I spent $20. If they couldn't do it correctly in the first place why try? Now I need to reprint it and go elsewhere. read more

I went in here yesterday to purchase items for work. I wasn't very fond of the layout of the store because the book rings I was looking for that was in my list was very difficult to find. At first, I didn't know what they were called so that alone was a struggle. I went to hunt for an associate and it took awhile til I found one. Actually, it was Vijay who found me. He saw me walking from aisle to aisle and asked if he could assist me while he was leading somebody else to get what that person needed. I tried to describe these elusive book rings and we struggled together. And just when I was about to give up, lo and behold we found them! They were next to paper clips which I didn't think belonged there - but that's just my opinion. I was going to rate this location two to three stars bc of the struggle but Vijay's customer service was phenomenal! He was patient, extremely helpful, and smiled the whole way. He was helping not just me but everyone he came in contact with that day. I also brought my 5yo son that day and we almost walked out with a Snickers bar. I told him to go on line to pay for it and this young woman with curly hair (I would've put her name on here but she wasn't wearing a name tag) was very friendly and polite to my son. It's the great customer service that'll make me continue to come back here. read more

FIRE the POS Manager and train the staff! I walked in twenty minutes ago and after scanning the signs asked a passing worker, who was more interested in her phone than helping me, where the earbuds are located. Earbuds are in "lock-up" and I have to go to check out, tried a follow up question and was dismissed because they'll help me at check out. BOY WAS SHE WRONG! One poor guy on the register and he was on the phone helping a caller, I didn't mind waiting. He gets off the phone and calls another guy over to help me. I tell this guy that I want earbuds and he asks me what kind, I tell him that I don't know and want to see them. This poor guy looks like a deer in the headlights, so after two second up walks Mister POS Manager and tells the kid to go help a customer and Mr. POS walks away ignoring me. I guess not having to wear a red shirt makes him Supreme Leader and me, "The Customer" nothing in his eyes. He couldn't be bothered to say that someone else will over to help me. Now I'm standing at the register like a jerk because the overworked guy on the register is helping someone else now and Mr. POS is gone. I'm left standing there. After a minute, I walked out stating that I guess I should go Coitus myself. The scary thing is that the earbuds are around $10 and they have to be locked up, but they leave floor samples of $150-$200 office chairs outside. read more

I ordered business cards on April 18th, received the proof back on the 20th with a 'q' in my surname instead of a 'g' (this was an already created card template that I just needed the email address added to...the email address where the error was was the ONLY new element I asked the design team for) and it was misspelled despite the fact that the proper spelling of my name was right above it in large letters. I wrote back the same day (the 20th) describing the correction I needed and received a response the same day saying it would be taken care of. Then nothing happened for 4 days. I sent an inquiry email. No response. 6 more days go by. I sent a final email requesting a response by 5pm, I did hear back saying they would take care of it by 5, but 5 came and went with no response. I cancelled my order the next day. It should not take 12 days to get new business cards, especially when they had a nearly complete template to start with. read more

First off let me say I love Staples, it's like Target to me. I will always find something to buy. However, this weekend I went there to place an order for 100 copies of a funeral program and the woman at the copy and print center wouldn't do it. She made my job seem irrelevant because she was copying something else. So I left the location and went to the Bergenfield store where a young man, who was working his last day at the store, (I wonder why?) reorganized my program so that it folded properly and printed out 100 copies in 20 minutes.
