This Staples location is the most helpful and courteous of any of the San Diego stores. They didn't even think twice about carrying newly purchased office chair and loading it into our truck. This is my favorite Staples in the San Diego area - I think because of its promixity to many companies in the Kearny Mesa area, it tends to cater more towards the corporate shopper, which means a well-stocked store with more selection. I shopped here frequently as a purchaser for my old company, and so know the layout pretty well. Today I was just picking up some supplies and dropping off an empty ink cartridge. If you do a regular amount of shopping here, definitely sign up for the Rewards program - we did that at our company, and we would regularly receive credit to spend on more supplies that we needed. Even as a non-corporate customer, signing up is not a bad idea, especially if you buy ink and toner for home use. The staff here tend to be pretty good, although sometimes they don't always have enough cashiers out at once (in the middle of the day, they typically only have one until more are needed). Finding staff to assist you find products is not too hard here, and their print and copy center has been useful to me in the past. read more

They have a very limited supply of items. I used to go to Office Depot all the time, but since they moved, I usually go here or Walmart. But most of the time if they don't have something in stock, then you're better off getting it shipped through their online program. I always go online to check to see if there might be any useful coupons as well. I can say that their customer service here is usually good. Most of the time there will be someone asking if you need help. Overall, just another convenient store for basic needs. read more

This is my go-to store for office supplies... specifically this location too. The store set-up makes sense, so everything is where you'd expect it to be... although everything is easy to find, I still find myself walking up and down the aisles drooling at all their cool stuff! The staff is fantastic! As I salivate through the aisles, there is usually a friendly, smiling employee nearby and asking if I need assistance... and they miraculously do this in a non-creepy way :) I will definitely be back here again soon. Oh, and shout out to the copy and tech center. Whenever I've needed their services, it has been prompt, professional, and complete! Side note: there were a few times this store was out of stock for an item I needed. However, the staff ordered it for me and it arrived in-store within a day or two. read more

Last night I arrived at Staples hoping to get ink for my HP laser printer. Sadly they didn't have all the colors I needed so I went ahead and printed at the store since it was 8pm, they were closing in an hour and I had a 9am meeting. Both Luis and Aaliyah were VERY helpful. Over the top, best experience I've ever had. When Aaliyah helped me find ink and realized they didn't have what I needed, she suggested their self printer. The self-printer wasn't working correctly for my specific presentation so she had Luis come help. He took the time to help print out all four separate jobs that n the main printer and was very helpful. Thank you to both of you for making my experience wonderful. I was so stressed about not being able to have proposals for my meeting that slipped away with your assistance. I hope all Staples locations have wonderful employees like you. After bad experiences with Office Depot (coupons that don't actually apply to anything you can buy in the store except maybe erasers) and Best Buy (which I hope will go bankrupt and implode... not necessarily in that order), I have found Staples to be a breath of fresh air -- yes, rare for a large corporation. They have WONDERFUL customer service with employees willing to go above and beyond to help you find what you want (whether or not they carry it in their store). Moreover, their return policy is AWESOME: you take it in, say you don't want it, and they give you a full refund... with a smile! Imagine that. read more

On 09/27/16 I went to the Mission Valley staples after work to have some convention badges I printed cut. They said they were backed up and couldn't do it until tomorrow evening and couldn't suggest some place else to go. So I took a chance and went to the Kearney Mesa Staples. They were super nice and did the job then and there. It took a while between customers but she (I didn't get her name) cut all 1000 badges. The young lady was cheerful, helpful and didn't get discouraged when she realized it would take longer than she thought. The rest of the crew were nice as well. I had time to test run many of their office chairs and will be returning after the convention to purchase one. Thank you to the evening crew and especially the young lady in the printing department for making a frustrating day end on an up note. You all rock! read more

I purchased a staple on line with other items. I was in the neighborhood for lunch. I carry my returns in a bag in my car so if and when I have time I stop in and return/exchange the items. I was going to see my nieces and thought I would pick up some school supplies for them at the same time. I didn't have my receipt with me and asked if they would do an exchange as the stapler was still in the box and not working. The manager said since I didn't have my receipt he would give me 50 cents credit and wanted my drivers license number. I said no, you can look up my account on your computer. He said they don't have access to online accounts. read more

The employees were super friendly. We came in on veterans day 2017 to send a fax. The guy with the cool hair in the marketing and printing section was SO nice. We used the self service fax but we overheard him helping other customers and he was the kind of employee you want. Then we went to the cashier, he was a young tall guy with braces. He wasn't very informed but that's not his fault. But he thanked my hubby fir his service, which is a little comfortable every time, but he offered a hand shake and I thought that was really fucking cool. Adam and I stopped at this location because we were in the area and I needed something printed. The store itself is normal and you can get all of your staple office supplies (Pun intended). However, there is 1 staff member that pushes this store into amazing territory, Stephen. I was having photos for artwork printed and the way they came to me via e-mail but were showing in the body of the e-mail and not as an attachment. With the way they were forwarding, the pictures could not be printed. I tried many different ways to get the pictures to send properly and I couldn't. Stephen was super patient throughout the whole thing and even provided me with his personal e-mail address to send to him so he could try and see if he could get the attachments to send properly from his phone. In the end we figured out that if we sent the e-mail through the internet and not through an app, they would go through properly. After a long 30 minutes of trying to get it figured out, we finally had it! I honestly don't think I would have been able to figure it out without him helping me. I would have left, gone home to put the pictures on an USB and had to go back another day but I was so happy to be able to get my pictures that day! Made the mistake of buying the warranty on a wireless phone handset. Staples refused to assist me in the store. Told me to call a warranty phone number. So I did. After 40 minutes on the call - I was told to call the manufacturer. So basically - the extended warranty they sell - just like all the others - is a massive waste of money. read more

Oh, this gets better! So HP sent us a refurbished HP Photosmart eStation printer and it is not working either. It's this fancy little removable Zeen that is attached to front of the printer that you can search the web with that causes all the problems. Funny thing is when they sent me the refurbished printer they make you use the old Zeen from the bad printer. Who's to say that the Zeen is not the problem? My husband is an computer specialist and still he is having a hard time setting it properly and getting to work at it. HP is just as bad as Staples. They both suck! read more

Buyers Beware! Staples doesn't honor their extended warrantees. I paid $99 for a 2 year warrantee. I have been attempting to get them to honor it since 2008. A couple of months has past since they made an offer. I accepted & now no response. He made an offer then welched on it. I will now take them to court & sue for breach of contract plus punitive damages. It will cost them a lot more than $500. And I will now take this to the court of public opinion. After I was told by 3 different businesses that my photo board couldn't be made without elaborate steps, Robb told me he knew exactly what I needed and it would take less than an hour. 10 min later he was done! I also purchased an extended warantee. The netbook spent most of the first year in repair. It was never properly repaired. The company refused to honor the extended warantee. Desired outcome: Replacement of the netbook as promised in the extended warantee that I paid for. Also a new extended warantee exactly like the one I purchased. Otherwise they will replace it with a used clunker & no warantee. I have not had use of the netbook bcs its been mostly in the shop. It has never worked properly. I do want to say that I gave them one star bcs the staff are really nice people. They tried to get the warantee honored. I used to do all my buying at Staples.The staff are always kind, courteous & go out of their way for the customers. Just don't buy their extended warantee. Its a ripoff! Update 3 years later & approx 15 emails, reports to BBB & I think Yelp turned it, (Thx Yelp) they finally paid me. Maybe I should have sicked Pacific Homeworks on them LOL. All paid up. I strongly discourage anyone from coming here to use their computer work stations. They charge $0.30 per minute to use their equipment. The issue is that you are limited to using a very slow Internet connection, and Internet Explorer. The Web browser constantly freezes as well as the OS. This leads to frequent rebooting, lost time and high charges with zero productivity. read more

Staples.com advertised a printer It was sold out online but said there was limited stock at the I called the Kearny Mesa store. I was told that they had it in stock . I drove to the store. I located the the printer in the store and walked the printer to the register. Their price was different from the website. I asked the manager to price match with the website. The manager refused to honour the advertised price. He stated that there was an error on the website . He then said he would sell me the printer for 89.00. What a nightmare and waste of my time. If you are looking to get copies made, it's best to go someplace else!! I've came twice to get what would only take about 5 minutes or less to get some documents printed and every time I was there I was told to that it would take several hours before they could get get around to making copies!! So I looked around me there was absolutely nobody in line waiting not to mention the copier wasn't in use!! Staples maybe good for office supplies but if you need copies and prints done.
