Technically under the law if they have an employee restroom, they must allow any individual lawfully on the premises to use it during normal business hours, even if it's not normally made available to the public. $100 penalty but who files complaints? Old Boomer group Bachman-Turner Overdrive is the score to this review. lol I have the CLEAR app membership, which I will cancel when I get TSA Pre-Check; it's just too expensive for two people. I came to this location to get that Pre-Check thing via Telos, which you need to fill out online before coming down. Anyhow, I was greeted by a friendly employee at the door, and even though I was half an hour early for my appointment, they managed to fit me in a little bit earlier, which was very nice. Not Office Depot related, but if you go the Telos route, please remember a 5 day window from your preferred appointment to allow the store to ensure they have the staff to take care of your request. My husband tried to use Telos, but he went to a different location and got turned away because he made his appointment 72 hours after his request. Not a good experience. I had zero issues at this particular storefront. The guy who helped me was experienced and professional. I love Office Depot, so I don't have anything else to say except that I love this location. For me, it's easy to get there via the Number 2 bus from South Park. Good service, and an incredible selection of nice travel backpacks, too. I think that Leadership here definitely is lacking. Having live next to the store for the better part of the decade I've always utilized it for both my military, Business, and HOA needs. I've had mixed results. I do enjoy that the staff at the printing center is very knowledgeable. The only problems that I've ever had has always been with the managers and or assistant managers of the store. Today was no exception and I feel at odds writing this because last time that I did have an issue with the manager, he ended up apologizing, which I was very thankful for because I think it was just a misunderstanding altogether however, this time when asking about a return policy after being told that I was able to return something previous unfortunately they were not able to find my receipt utilizing the same method that I utilize today I brought in my receipts to return items and mention this to the person that I was returning, and was told that the item that I was returning was no longer going to be accepted because it was past the due date. another item that I had returned I was told that it was open. I told them that I did not open it fortunately, they were able to return it however, the main item which was a LabelMaker was not opened by me. It was open by the store associate that day. I was told that I opened it when I rebuttal and said that he just opened that up and then turned into when did you purchase the item? I said I purchased it here according to my receipt and showed them the receipt he refused to initially scan the receipt and wanted to type it in, which was not a problem. I noticed that his tone was demeaning and condescending, and so as I was wrapping up the initial return minus the other return of the unopened label maker. I asked specifically what constituted constitute a technology and the electronics, and he continuously reiterated that my item was a piece of technology. I rebuttaled a Wheel is technology isn't it? His reply was that he needed to get back to work. I said you are at work. You're answering your clients or a customer's question specifically why I was told two different things by two different people and now I have this item in which I didn't spend a grand amount of money on, and I can absorb the loss, but the fact that I'm not able to return it after being told, I was able to return it after being told that I needed the receipt after I've already presented my debit cards And use the same one that was accepted. Why now am I not able to return it? Additionally, I want to understand the policy a little bit better so I can make my decisions on whether or not I can utilize Amazon in the future, which at this point has been way more convenient than walking less than a block away from my condo to get to This location. I caution him on his tone and reminded him that I am a customer regardless and I'm trying to keep it as civil as possible due to the fact that I have utilize the store and appreciate the customer service I have received in the past by different associates. I asked to have tape and or sleeve for one of my UPS packages and was told that they don't have tape. I pointed out that they have tape right there and he said I'll have to charge you a dollar for the tape. I said how much is a roll of tape and he said go look. I said well if you can look it up on your PDA right? I'm curious I don't have time to go through each one and I already went over there and I didn't see them. He relented and told me that it varied. I asked specifically how much one roll of tape was since he wasn't going to allow me to use his and again told me that it varied based upon how much tape and the kind of kind of tape I said, specifically scotch tape as I pointed to the one that they said they did not have sitting on the counter that he was next to. I attempted to have a heart-to-heart with him, letting him know that I found it funny that in the past, I've been able to utilize tape and they usually have tape available in their self help portion, not only to include that but pens and paper clips, but I couldn't get a single piece of tape. I wanted nothing free, but I wanted to see his continued behavior get worse and it sure did. I don't think that Carlos should be fired, but I do think that Carlos needs to receive additional training as a store manager in reference to dealing with clients/customers. read more

I asked Carlos where the SD cards were at that I needed replace for my camera and the hard back notebooks with the spiral outside, and the lightweight pens. The store had been in a reset and the many new rows of the merchandise there was many new things that just came to the store and many sales that was going at the same time. The great customer service from Carlos he was able to help me through the store asking me on product questions if I needed orders sent to my house. I asked him if you charge for business cards and the time do I need to get the order in he told me they can do the order within two days' time or they can do the next day. He took me to the many areas coming to the SD Cards finding those that 38.00 dollars with the membership you get the prices down to a 8.95$ I bought two of them of the PNY SD Cards of 64GB the store location does have some of the best sales when you sign up for the membership that can save you allot of money. Carlos is one person that told me when you buy a lap top camera look for the good resolution and to check the compatibility with your computer. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, I wanted to say is that the Office is one of the best being in the Downtown San Diego area at the foot of Broadway it does help with so many things and the customers that come off the cruise ships who need things like cameras and things for the computers they have on the ship. The store location is one of the busiest in the area of the courts they do have to create and get copies made for the attorneys and the creation of books and the plastic folders. I even went to FedEx/Kinko's to print my own and it would have been very expensive and I would have done my own cutting. Terrible customer service by store manager. Poor quality print yet won't admit their mistake. Do not recommend. Possibly the worst customer experience from the store manager this afternoon. We needed booklets on short notice for tomorrow, but when we picked up the booklets all the white colors across the brochure were VERY off and there were white lines on the corners of every page. The above issues weren't shown in the computer preview and we even called before ordering to confirm that the preview was what we could expect the booklet to look like. Not only was the print quality far from good, the store manager was extremely rude -- the lady who serviced us was kind enough to offer a full refund and sent us home with the order because we had no choice but to use these booklets for tomorrow. The store manager yelled at us as we walked out with the boxes saying "what are you doing?! I can't let you take that?". He was probably going to throw out the booklets anyway. He then proceeded to argue that the messed up white color was that way because "we provided poor quality photos". This statement we know is untrue because the lady at the print desk who helped us had told us that the store has been experience printer issues, so this error can happen. So we ended up having to pay for half of the order ($150). We initially upgraded the text and paper quality but this print quality was far from what we expected. Our business pride itself on high quality products and this print job destroys our brand image. But we had to pay for the booklets and use them anyway cuz of the store's mistake and unwillingness to admit or rectify it. I brought in some sensitive documents for shredding. Although they only weighed one-half of a pound, I was charged "a minimum of $5.00." I saw no signage indicating that apparent fact. I was shown a counter sign generally stating "services" were "a minimum of $5.00" and shredding was a service even though the minimum charge was not on the store's webpage. That was because these charges are outlined on the main page for Office Depot. So I guess I would have to look at the store location and the corporate webpages in order to understand just how screwed I would be when I need something from this company. The young lady's attitude assured me that the customer is always wrong at Office Depot. I did state that I would need to post this poor decision of the part of Office Depot on social media as a warning to future customers. Honestly dislike having to shop anywhere downtown because of the parking, construction etc etc. I only go downtown to eat. Absolutely terrible customer service. I'm never shopping at an Office Depot again. Came in here after I needed to buy a whiteboard for work at home. I came in and found a whiteboard with a great price and decided to snag it. When I brought it to the register, a petite woman working the register told me it was $61 (not the $19.99 sale price listed). I said that it had a sale sign for $20. So she said I could take a picture of it and bring it back as proof (which is terrible customer service mind you). So, I quickly took photos of the price point and aisle section where the board was and hurried back. When I brought it back to her, she was ringing up another, so I had to wait in line again. When she finally looked at my photos, she said that the description on the $19.99 price matched my item but that it was a different SKU. She then asked for a manager override, and tried to ring up my order with two (2) of the boards on the total order! Bringing my total to over $120! Not only did I not ask for this, I would've easily missed this if I wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. When I told her that I didn't want it for $61, and that I didn't want to order two of them, she didn't apologize or anything. In the end, I purchased a smaller one to hold me over until I can go to a much better store. If I didn't NEED a whiteboard immediately, I wouldn't have bought anything from this place. read more

I ordered on line for two boxes of paper reams and 2 boxes of highlighters (Order #319270146) and was informed that it will be delivered the following day .. that's great but the thing is ... it did not arrive. I called Customer Service and was told that it was indeed delivered . I argued on the phone saying that we really did not receive the shipment. Then they say it was a wrong address (where in fact our address is correct in their system). Their associate RJ said that he will re-order and we will get the package to us the following day. We waited and then I receive an E-mail instead from Bevan saying that the shipment was delivered. Again, I responded that we really did not receive it. How many times do I have to say that!!??! I gave him my number to call me personally to resolve the issue. No E-mail response ... and no call received. We waited ... and waited for two days but no shipment arrive. I called again and spoke with another associate Lin. She said that Office Deport credited me back. I did not request for a credit, we wanted the merchandise delivered!! as we are running out of paper in the office. They should have informed me about the 'credit' so we don't have to wait for the shipment and buy the merchandise someplace else. While still talking with Lin, I managed to checked with AmEx and learned that there was no credit back to my account from Office Deport. Lin asked me if I want to speak to the manager ... and said she will pass me to Lisa, the manager. I waited on the line for a long time .. until I was hanged up. So rude people ... poor communication and they argue more than care about the customer's satisfaction. My case No. is 19191482. Disgusting attitude from "Joy" (asian girl with glasses) if that's her real name, supposedly supervisor of printing area. I went to print cards for my business, for about the 6th time in months, and asked for the same thing that I always do and from first interaction her negative attitude was apparent. The request was simple "please remove margins and space between images in sheet" her answer was "I can't do that" I advised its never been an issue before and it has been done. She outright refused and was not willing to do. I asked if another person, that was standing nearby and had helped me in the past could do it, she refused and said she would not authorize anybody to help. The attitude and negativity was glaring out of her pretty much. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, ZERO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMER(business customer or otherwise) ...Disrespectful, unhelpful, negative. The request was just a few extra "clicks and delete" and she treated it as though it was hours of inconvenience... there was literally Noone else at desk or even the store for that matter. read more

What can you really expect to be out of the ordinary from Office Depot to the next. This rating is not based on their products or prices because that will be the same no matter what Office Depot you go to. The location is great. San Diego is beautiful and this Office Depot is just a jog from the ocean. The location is also on the outskirts of the downtown area, so not only do they have a parking lot, but almost no one comes here, so you'll always have a parking spot. In the few times I've come here I've never had a long line to wait in. There's typically someone to help me find whatever I'm looking for (usually ink), and the checkers are always polite. In the end, we're only talking about Office Depot so I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. If you do live downtown though, this could be the spot for your office supplies. read more
