He was so kind, pleasant and patient. Mind you he was working the print station alone and assisting with Amazon returns. I was pleasantly surprised to be approached by a staff member who offered help with the office chairs I was looking at that I ended up not buying in store. I've never had employees proactively assist, which was pleasant. There is a clearance section in the back with a lot of Christmas remainders left for purchase. My checkout experience was fast. I went in to do some printing, got to the counter to ask a question & David was very rude. He stood far away as I was asking a question & said " I can't tell you anything by just looking at a picture on a phone " & rudely placed a printing instruction card on the counter as I stood there with my hand out. I really hopes he see this & changes his career of choice, because he obviously doesn't like his job or the people he have to encounter. read more

It's a little hit or miss with the print jobs. You just need to check the work you get done before you leave. I've had mostly good experiences here. I miss the staples near my office on Georgia Ave but they have torn it done and built and Aldis. Seriously, how many aldis do you need? But whatever its done now! They also shut the one down off tech road so I have to usually come all the way to Laurel. read more

So I purchased a chair online and picked up at another store. When the chair was showing signs of wear and tear I was able to bring it here for an exchange. The only chair that seemed to be a good substitute was not only sold out but completely unavailable online. The manager was kind enough to approve selling me the floor model, which I understand isn't something that's encouraged. Both she and the gentleman that did the exchange for me were very helpful. I've come here a few times for printing and shredding services, haven't had a bad experience yet! read more

This is a review of Staples online, and the order online, pick up at the store service. I have been searching for a metal box of a certain size. When I searched Staples.com, I found what was described as a metal letter/legal file box that was the right size. It was described as being made of metal -- no other material was mention. I order it online and was able to pick it up at a nearby store -- great. Except the sides and lid of the box didn't feel like metal. When I got it home and examined it, there was a label that said it was made out of particle board with metal on the edges and corners. I went online, told them I was returning it, and took it back to the store That was a nightmare. I was told that I couldn't return it there, and if I did, I would get only about one-third of what I paid. I called customer service. Once I managed to get it across to them that I had picked it up at the store, and therefore could not return it in the original packaging via UPS because there was no packaging, they agreed that I could take it back to the store and if the store didn't like it they could call customer service themselves. The person handling the return tried to tell me that having metal edges constituted being a metal box, but finally accepted it back promising a refund in 3-5 business days, which would have been Friday at latest. On Saturday, I called and asked for my refund. The customer service agent was embarrassed. Apparently no refund had been ordered, and it didn't arrive until Wednesday. In the interim, Staples sent me a survey. After reading what I though, the manager of the stores called to apologize and offer gift certificates. I refused the gift certificates since I never wanted anything to do with Staples again. She couldn't understand why. I said, let's recap: the item was (and still is) totally misdescribed. I had a terrible time returning it, and the I didn't get my refund in the promised time. I put a review online warning potential customers that the description is wrong. read more

I love this staples because it's very close to my office. The problem is that many of their items have been opened if you carefully inspect the package. Even a Microsoft Office was carefully opened, that I had to return for a "new" one which also had the seal unglued. It's so common that I don't find it suprising anymore. read more

Staples has left me with a nice surprise. A few years ago, I brought my laptop to this location to have some work done on it. They have computer repair services. Until today, this had been the only time I had repairs done on my computer. What I found out today was was that apparently instead of putting the screws back in after taking my laptop apart, they GLUED IT BACK TOGETHER! Apparently my computer is suppose to have 50 screws. Only 12 were found when it was worked on today. Only 12! That's outrageous! They also bent my keyboard when they took it out, and GLUED it back in as well. They also GLUED they keyboard cover back in! I am very upset with what I am now discovering. Staples chop shopped my laptop if you could imagine that. I would much rather give this place 0 stars. Do not have your computer repairs done here. Do your research. I guess like the way some mechanics will mess up your car, so do computer repair people. read more

Walked in to drop a package off at UPS within this Staples store, A Staples employee walks up, does not speak one word, doesn't smile or even look at me, scans my bag, puts it on the other counter, gives me a receipt, walks away. No hello, no customer service courtesy, nothing. I just stood there in shock. These people are so unorganized and have poor customer service. I stopped by yesterday morning for use of the printing services. I needed my diplomas condescend in smaller certificates for a time sensitive purposes. I mean that's pretty simple!! I gave her 3 diplomas to copy. I stood there ten minutes with her attempting to scan my items three times. During this time several customers were waiting to be helped and she was honestly really rude to the one lady waiting for help. Finally my documents were scanned. She says "it will be ready in three hours...I will call you when they're ready for pick up." That was 11am. I never got a call. I came back the next day and she stated that "the guy who scanned your stuff didn't scan your third document correct so that couldn't be printed." I mean...A phone call would've been really appreciated!!! And secondly she helped me yesterday not some "guy." They didn't care because it was a $5 job. That really says a lot about this business. Their customer service is terrible. I got my 2 reprints free (because of course I told her that this was unacceptable) but a free $5 does not bring back the time I will waste going back to staples (likely another location) and getting my other diploma scanned and printed. This was a time sensitive matter and they couldn't deliver. I wouldn't trust them with your wedding invitations folks. read more

I spent an hour trying to buy a chair. It ended up being the last one they had. It was the display model and had some scuffs in it. Once I finally got to the register, an assembly fee was added without telling me. The associate (in training) called the manager who also tried to charge me a $10 set up fee for the assembly. This is by far not the best Staples I have worked with. We requested same day service but it took three days to get the job done and I asked to be called and no one called me. I called the next morning and found out the job was completed. My review is nothing to do with personality as every staffer I have dealt with are very nice. I think it has to do with staffing and organization. For this popular location, I think at all times there needs to be at least 3-4 dedicated staff members. You literally sometimes can wait for 10 min. or longer before someone acknowledges you. The best way to be acknowledged is to probably stand in front of the register. Also, the organization behind the counter could use some TLC and organized better. Again, I feel bad for some of the workers because they are overworked so this is really for Staples Corporate to understand as a customer, you should shoot for 5 min. or less rule with regards to acknowledging and helping customers. I just came back being totally satisfied from my experience at this Staples. I usually go to the Staples off of Cherry Hill Road, but this time I was on my way to Best Buy and I remembered speaking to an EasyTech Supervisor, named Aron, and stopped by the Staples in Laurel to help me with replacing an old AGP video card on an eight-year old PC. He got the card installed and the PC working like new. I definitely had a five-star experience. I would have given this Staples five stars except I have been to his Staples before and was dissatisfied on one occasion. Overall, this is a good Staples and I will return. read more

Staples, and similar stores, tend to have a problem syncing their in-store stock availability with what their websites claim they have in stock. I'll more often than not be looking for an older peripheral or something that isn't readily available and get excited to find that this store or another should have it, only to be disappointed when that turns out to be false. That being said, I still give this Staples a 4 star rating because once I'm in the store, the staff are helpful and courteous, quick to apologize for the confusion, and ready to try and order the requested part if they are able to. In past Staples stores I have met with a gruff "I don't want to" attitude, where the first person I deal with typically just doesn't know how to help me and doesn't seem to want to care. This branch has been nothing but helpful every visit so far. If you need quick help and feel more comfortable with a familiar chain such as Staples, go to this one. It's the winner. read more

Not only have they messed up print orders but when I have placed online orders and pick them up they have repeatedly given me the wrong items. This just happened again while I was exchanging a wrong item from a previous purchase and picked up a new order. I get back to my office and again they gave me the wrong items. Slowest moving Staples ever! Stood in line for over 20 minutes to get some larger scale copies made. No one addressed or acknowledged me and other employee were just walking around the store. Copy Department and Shipping are horribly understaffed. Save you time and money and go somewhere else. read more

Staples has just acquired the USPS service along with UPS. Customer demand would likely increase, it is unfortunate that there are not enough staff available to meet the needs and as a customer you find yourself waiting almost a half hour. If you cannot handle the demand in an efficient way, do not add an addition service. read more

Today I stopped in to the Laurel MD Staples store. I had questions about the many emails I receive as a Staples customer with stated savings. The cashier was very polite but had zero knowledge of the corporate email savings that go out. I had a question because I could not determine where in the email I would find the discount for my purchase. The cashier called for a manager for assistance. The manager all but ignored me and her response was that the emails were sent to me so figure it out. I found her rude and dismissive of my questions. The cashier suggested I purchase the items and if I saw another store selling for less or a later sale to come back for my savings. The issue was I just wanted clarification to make todays purchase. I elected to leave my items at the store to be restocked and not sold to me. This is the last time I step into this Laurel location. I have told myself about five times before I will not go back to this location because of their poor service they continually offer. This has to be the worse location in the area with the exception of the Cherry Hill Rd location in Silver Spring which also has left me baffled with the lack of their customer care. How is it that a store can continue to operate with such disregard for their customers needs. Though I will say that I have found other Staples locations such as the Columbia and Ellicott City stores where the staff seem to both care about their company and the customers.
