    Cheese Quesadilla

If you are a tourist that just checked into their hotel, it's 1am and you are hungry. Then come straight to starbar and get you this. Just make sure you ask for extra green sauce or whatever that is because it's absolutely delicious and makes the quesadilla amazing Pd: don't mine that staple I made sure to get it out of the quesadilla before I ate it

A dive bar type atmosphere, but very chill and clean. The place has a good cozy atmosphere and we were able to enjoy inexpensive drinks and have a good conversation with each other. The also have daily drink specials and happy hour. A good place to stop by for drinks and hang out for a bit.

My favorite new dive bar! It was such a fun night hanging out with friends, drinking, eating, chatting/debating about music and cramming into the photobooth that someone forgot to close the tab and left their debit card there. Oops! Well it was retrieved no problem. I can't wait for my next group of friends to come and visit. I want to go back there soon!

Star Bar seems to be popular for the drink specials - they have one for each day of the week, plus cheap happy hour specials. The food, like at many divey bars, is not great though. The Caesar salad and mini mac and cheese were lacking in flavor and really would have benefited from more lemon juice, than the single slice on the side as garnish. I would not get food at Star Bar, but it's okay for drinks. The frozen margarita was tasty, as were the Jell-O shots ($1 for regular and $2 for vegan). They also have Manny's on tap.

Cheap drinks and awesome art work of velvet pictures through out the bar. They have a pinball machine of Iron Maiden!!

This is a great dive bar, based on the ambiance alone. I love the kitschy black velvet art, photo machine, and pinball machine.

You can absolutely smell the fish and vinegar as soon as you walk through the door, which I think gives the place a very homey pub feel. I ordered a spiked peach Arnold Palmer, which I enjoyed (and it was pleasantly strong) and a glass of the house white, which was good for the price. Our server was very fast and attentive. To eat I got the tomato soup with a grilled cheese, which was absolutely fantastic. The soup was so creamy and flavorful, and I cannot imagine a better meal after spending all day walking outside in the rain. The fries were super crispy and I liked the batter. My partner and I shared some of their breadsticks, which were deliciously baked (fresh!) and came with a super refreshing basil crema and a nice tomato-y dip. Wonderful all. My partner ordered fish and chips, and was surprised to find that it is one large fillet of fish, not multiple pieces like you would typically expect. He said the fish was fine, but a little tough. Overall, a wonderful experience. I definitely hope to return. I highly recommend this place as a refuge during the cold winter months!

We were celebrating my son's 16th birthday, and the team made the evening feel special from the moment we arrived. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly and was exactly what we expected for a restaurant at this price point and in this location. Those two boxes were checked but the rest of the 2 and a half hour visit was abysmal to say the least. I made a reservation a week before, knowing this place offers the best views in Portland, & hoping to solidify a great spot with our meal - no. The hostess said our best bet would be to sit in the lounge, we accepted & did as such. It was a decent amount of time until we received water - our ordered beverages came significantly later. We didn't order our main dish until 10 minutes before closing. When we ordered an over $100 bottle of wine we were met with an eye roll and sigh of frustration because our waiter was overworked & didn't have time to care about what we, as paying customers, wanted. I want to be clear that I do not fault our waiter for his reaction because he was visibly overwhelmed throughout the entirety of our visit. I am significantly disappointed in the customer service - as horrendous and incredibly long even the smallest requests took. If I make a reservation for 7:30 and leave the restaurant at 10 - after having reminded the staff several times of what we wanted or needed that is indicative of the establishment and management not the individuals. The food prices are not reflective of the overall service and experience. To be frank, if you (as an establishment) do not have the bandwidth to cater to your customers needs, then the prices should coincide with the experience, or hire more staff to fill the gaps that exist. I am genuinely saddened that my mom and I, who both love a great restaurant experience, left dissatisfied and disappointed in her celebratory dinner. The food was great. But not great enough to overcompensate for the overall nature of the experience.

An entire multi-page menu of herbal teas that includes historical information about how the different ingredients had been used by indigenous populations? Yes please! After wanting to visit Javelina for a long time I finally got the opportunity to a couple weeks ago. SO GOOD! I got the bison chili, some fry bread (of course! ), the three sisters salad, and some tea. The chili was SUPERB, and the fry bread was the perfect dipping accompaniment to it. The three sisters salad had such a good flavor balance, with the squash giving a perfect hint of sweetness against the other ingredients. I love herbal teas (my mom grew her own herbs and would make all different ones for us growing up), so it was such a delight to see the huge variety of in-house-made herbal teas available. I forget the name of the one I ended up picking (I think it was something like three tribes). It was great and exactly what I was looking for). The ambience in the restaurant has a lovely simplicity that feels like it suits it perfectly. I can't wait to come back and try their brunch some time. Fry bread was good but the toppings were lacking something, very little protein, a bit basic. Offered was a bottle of tapatío, was expecting more of a house made salsa or garnish, maybe I've become boujie. The taco took almost an hour to arrive to my table. Not sure if the waitress forgot about us or staff attending larger parties but it was a bit of a wait given that it was not busy, only had one waitress working. Table behind us got there orders within 15 minutes of ordering, so kind of perplexed about the wait. Luckily, the neighbor across the street was cutting his very dry grass so that was entertaining. The bannock cinnamon roll cup saved this visit, arrived in between eating my taco . It was delicious but needed a knife to tear it apart, had a lot of give.
