I am not a fan of their concretes and gelatos but my kids like them. I do like their ice cream cookies. I tried to order the 6 pack twice now and was told you can't mix between the Oreo and chocolate chip cookies. While I think that is crazy, it is the rule. What I don't understand is that why I then cannot order 2 - 6 packs of each. It makes no sense. I keep getting told, "we don't allow for customers to mix". Tonight was the third time I have went through this and after tonight, I doubt I will give them a chance for #4. You are losing out on a sale when you say "no". 2 of the 6 packs would be about $40 in lost sales. Is business that good that you can turn down business? Maybe I'm missing something? The ice cream cookies really are good, if you get the opportunity to get one. My kids enjoy the other offerings. They just aren't for me. I could be ok with it if they weren't so rigid on their rules for mixing, but I'm for the life of me, I can't understand a policy that doesn't allow you to purchase 2 - 6 packs of different ice cream cookies. Again, tonight was the 3rd time this has happened so I don't think it is a mistake, or miscommunication. The reason I was given tonight was that they are pre-made so no alterations can be made. Fine, give me 2 unaltered 6 packs of each of the flavors. I just don't understand.

I personally don't care to order it again because I prefer the other ones. - Bluefin Tuna Donburi - I still really like this one. This time it didn't have cucumber in it. I missed the crunch, but I also felt like maybe we got more fish this time?? - Mango Coconut Kakigori - This one reminded me of Vietnamese che for some reason. It was good but I think I prefer the raspberry one more. Last time we went we didn't get the Matcha kakigori and now I have major regrets because we asked the waiter and he said it likely wouldn't come back. :(

Kira stands out to me because I can find special handrolls on their menu that I can't typically find at other handroll bars. I tried a variety of handrolls and was left impressed with the flavor combinations and different flavors on the menu. It an intimate space that seats only so many at the bar, but the interior is curated so nicely and makes the space super comforting. The vinyl player adds a nice touch and I loved the dim lit space. I recommend trying the lobster and peking duck hand roll since those are rolls you can't typically find elsewhere! The peking tastes exactly like the dish ordered at a chinese restaurant, but I lowkey prefer it on a bun- worth a try tho! The lobster was also so good, but at times the mustard was a tad too much. I really liked the freshness of the fish and I can tell that the chefs care a lot about their craft. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10 for the taste, quality, and price point. Definitely worth to come check out!

Jollibee is still more popular than ever and these four stars are really for what I hope they'll stand to achieve, not what they've been as of late. :: Red Ribbon is of no more (#1) and now Jollibee stands practically alone in its own little corner of the plaza. Instead Baker's Son By Valerio (#2) across the parking lot has become the pseudo Filipino carb hotspot that is resonating well with the community. :: Things are more expensive than ever. A 10 piece is practically $25 and family meals (aka bucket treats) are anywhere from $39-53. Foodflation has been among ny most mentioned made-up terms in my reviews and it deserves another mention. :: They now have mac and cheese on the menu. It has the same consistency as Popeye's or KFC, which is really not good. :: They are also slower than ever. Even when there isn't something happening at NRG, I've waited as long as 45 minutes for a large order. This is for both takeout and dining in. For drive-thru goers, one will be directed to an open parking spot where they'll eventually bring the food out. :: For folks needing points via the app, it can only be applied using a phone number. They have no ability to scan anything on the app itself. It's just a tinge backwards. __________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/red-ribbon-bakeshop-houston-3 (#2) https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-bakers-son-by-valerios-houston

It's been YEARS since I've visited a Jollibee, and it seems both the individual locations and the brand as a whole have made a lot of upgrades and changes for the better! The kiosk ordering system is a nice convenience, and (specific to the Houston restaurant) the establishment has been renovated for a more modern & minimalist look. Also worth mentioning: The restaurant was clean, and the crew was organized and efficient. Go, H-Town! Now, the food: I don't dislike the spaghetti, but it's still not my cup of tea... I still can't wrap my head or my tastebuds around the sweet & sugary sauce, and the addition of fatty hot dogs just don't do it for me. The adobo rice is overrated, in my option... a lot of garlic and salt, but missing the essence of adobo. I'll also pass on the biscuit next time (dry and didn't have much going on). However, I totally get why the fried chicken has become so viral! Super crispy, but not greasy. Great flavor & seasoning without being obnoxiously salty (think Popeye's cousin who went to college). And, thanks to TikTok, I enjoyed a chicken skin taco (skin stuffed with rice and drown it in brown gravy). Yummmmm! ChickenJoy is definitely where it's at.

For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! As for my friend's spicy red snapper, I tried a bite and the spices/texture in the dish complimented the fish very well. For dessert, we ordered the classic Mango Sticky Rice! The mango was soft/sweet, the rice and sauce had that salty coconutty flavor. Aside from the delicious food, the interior is cozy and the waiters here were friendly and gave great advice on what to order. They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
