Because he called the next day at 12 to tell me he was going to be early for my appointment. Turns out he put in the wrong date on his calendar. When he showed up, he explained that he went back and checked our original emails indicating that he put the wrong date in his calendar. Bulent performed exemplary work, apologized for the error and did some extra work for me free of charge for the inconvenience. I absolutely appreciated Bulent's honesty and he does awesome work at a reasonable price. I called these guys based entirely on the great Yelp reviews, and I'm happy to say that Yelp was right...as usual! I recently bought a condo and had to change the tumblers on all my locks. I also needed some light repairs...the screws holding the lock on the door had come loose, the fixture around the door knob was missing a couple screws, and the doorknob itself was loose. The guy arrived on time and had the whole thing done in 45 minutes. He did everything according to my instructions, and asked for clarification on something he wasn't sure about so he could be sure to do it right. He handed me four copies of my new keys, and a bill that was about 10% less than the estimate. A true professional! After searching Yelp, I called Star-Locksmith today after my lock on my garage just spun and spun and somehow was not connected to the release mechanism anymore. I spoke to Bulent who assured me it was an easy fix and he could come over in a few hours on a Saturday. Bulent showed up when he said he would, removed the lock, diagnosed what had gone wrong (the person who replaced the lock for me a few years ago did not put in all the bolts correctly!) and he replaced the mechanism with a sturdier unit. He even made me extra keys in the back of his van! Really, for a service that can be "sketchy" when you see how easy a person can access your locked car or home, Star-Locksmith is the place to call. Its a local family business that depends on word of mouth and good service to build their business. Definitely support them and in fact you might consider breaking your key off in a lock sometime just so you can have the pleasure of working with them. Just kidding. My schedule was not set so although I wanted Bulent to come same day, I didn't know if/when I'd be available, so I made an appt for 10 am the following day. I live in Roslindale and called 2 different local locksmiths before calling Star. One guy spent 30 minutes trying to wedge the door open and then said he'd have to drill it out for $250.
