Was on time and very quick in replacing our locks. I would also add very reasonable and gave us extra sets of keys.

My car was stolen and, to my dismay, my wallet and my extra set of keys were in the car so I got the house locks replaced. I called at 9am on a Thursday and not only did someone pick up on the 1st or 2nd ring, they called back an hour later to see if I was going to be needing their services. They came over two hours later and they were EARLY!! Bulent was very quiet spoken and super shy but VERY thorough and fast. He honored the 10% discount and 4 free keys offered by mentioning Yelp. In fact, I think he have me the two extra I needed for free. Not sure if the prices are reasonable but it was $35 for the visit and $29.95 for each cylinder. With the discount, I paid $133. So while it sucks to have a vehicle stolen, it's nice to have people do a good job when helping you out. read more

I can't say enough good things about Star Locksmith, which I chose from reading the reviews on Yelp. I'd had a renter in my apartment and the front door lock was broken, an untenable situation in the city. Bulent from Star Locksmith responded to my call on a holiday weekend and, because the traffic made him an hour late, he refused to charge me for his service (he charged only for the new lock). When I tried to press the issue, saying he'd done the work and deserved to be paid for his time, he still refused. The new lock was installed within an hour and was far superior to the old one, which had been misaligned. I'd use Star Locksmith again in a second. read more

Ditto to Dave B's review on 5/20/11. I moved into a new condo and wanted to have the locks changed. At first, I considered going to Home Depot to do it myself, but after comparing the time and money it would take, calling Star Locksmith was, by far and away, the better choice. I took a quick look at the glowing reviews on Yelp, and they were definitely true. I gave Star Locksmith a call and they returned my call a minute later, gave me an estimate over the phone (including a 10% Yelp discount), and I scheduled an appointment. The guy called me about 5 minutes before arriving and when he had arrived at the door, immediately handing me his card so I felt comfortable that he was who he said he was. He was quick and efficient, even taking care to take off his shoes before entering and being careful not to ruin any paint around the fixtures. He even noticed a couple screws missing on the fixtures and replaced them for free, and tried to adjust the door because it was sticking a little bit. He then gave me four copies of the new keys (included), tested and showed they all worked, and was on his merry way in under 40 minutes. It ended up being about 10% cheaper than the original estimate (on top of the Yelp discount). If I ever need another locksmith, Star Locksmith will be my very first call! read more

I had to be somewhere 2 hour later and called &bulent was at my Brookline apartment 1 hour later with all tools necessary&he was finished in about 5 minutes after arriving!! I had to use these guys a few weeks ago when I lost the key to my company car. My boss had given me a ridiculously giant keyring with a million keys on it to try first, but none of them worked... These guys were awesome, they got there exactly when they said they would, and he tried all of the keys for me before he tried to make a new one, which would have been pretty expensive (but still reasonable- that's one of the reasons I chose this company), and he found one that worked! He only charged me a service charge and tried to make a copy of it for me, but it was so wonky, he was unable to. It's rarely a good thing when you need a locksmith. It's usually a bad event like a lock-out, theft, break-in, break-up, etc. Bulent seems to understand this and gives the very best customer service to stressed-out clients. The first time I used Bulent was because of a theft. He came within 45 minutes, spent 15 minutes doing an estimate and promptly got to work even fixing a wonky lock and catch and recommending a different configuration. The next time I needed a locksmith was also stressful and I remembered Bulent. I saw all the positive reviews for this place and thought I'd give it a shot. I absolutely thought it was too good to be true, but I was in need of a more reliable locksmith than the one I was playing phone tag with for two weeks, and the reviews on here suggested that at least Bulent would answer his phone calls (the other guy I called didn't even have a messaging service on his phone). I called in the morning, and he said he could have someone come within the hour. He was prompt, friendly, handsome, and politely quoted me the amount it would be (which I thought very reasonable). He asked if he could just buzz my apartment when he was done changing my mail box lock out, and literally less than 5 minutes later buzzed down that he was all done. And he was so humble when I voiced how impressed I was. Seriously, this is how similar services should be performed. If only I had such a reliable plumber... I've used Star Locksmith twice. The first time I called them was two years ago, I had just moved into my condo and my key wasn't working from time to time. It wouldn't turn. So I asked them to change my lock. He instantly knew what was wrong. He showed me that if I slammed the door shut too hard, part of the lock would get stuck and I just had to push on the door again to get it out. Fast-forward to today, I got locked out again, and I had completely forgotten his advice/trick. He came by again and instantly knew what was wrong. Not only did he explain the situation again, but a locksmith at another company had tried to convince me that my deadbolt was broken. Star Locksmith told me it was working perfectly and that the other locksmith was likely trying charge me to replace an expensive deadbolt. He didn't charge me either time. read more
