It's all true. Bulent has to be (one of the) best locksmiths anywhere. Why? Because he has been on time every time...in fact he seems to be generally early, and very tolerant when I am the one arriving late. Naturally the best locksmith anywhere calls if he's early, and is flexible when I can't be. He'll wait, or come back later, my choice. Also he's very fair with his pricing and charges. He's an obvious expert in the field, and dispenses helpful tips freely, seemingly whenever possible. He works quickly, and will tell you how long it will take. He'll take a moment to carefully assess how many key copies are needed. Bulent came out to open a locked garage door during a power outage. In fact, it was the epic Halloween 2011 storm. I couldn't manually open the garage door during the early part of a 30 hour power outage, and needed my car, so he came out Sunday afternoon and got it open. No extra charges, he just came quickly as possible, within an hour, and opened the door. I wasn't the only one that needed him that day. Bulent/Star Locksmith is TERRIFIC. 1) Lets you know when he is coming 2) He tries his darndest to get there on time 3) Usually comes early but the one time he came late (held up by traffic) he gave another 10% off his price - in addition to the 10% off for finding him through Yelp = 20% off, a very good price 4) He is an expert locksmith and very fast - diagnosed my lock's issue in 60 seconds, replaced it in 9 minutes, rekeyed it in another 5 minutes, all done in total of 15 minutes, and lubricated other lock on the way out the door as an "extra". 5) Super nice guy and 6) My total bill including the brand new lock was under $90. The deadbolt lock on our apartment front door was broken and I called Star Locksmith. The experience was truly exceptional. I called on a Friday morning. About 15 minutes later, I got a call and was told that someone can help me with it. Veli did a great job! He first identified what the problem was and told me that he would first try to see if he was able to fix it, only replaced the broken part, and if not, he would need to replace the entire lock. It turned out that he needed to replace the lock, but their price is very reasonable. The entire experience was very pleasant. they even have 10% discount for people using yelp ! I had the replace the lock one year ago and used service from Kobalt Locksmith. The experience there was horrible compared to this one. They were unwilling to give me a quote over the phone, took quite a long time to arrive, and charged me about $334 for replacing a deadbolt lock and that lock was broken after one year! I've had very bad experiences with locksmiths in the past-- being charged 200+ dollars and being lied to about how I have a "pick proof lock" (proven wrong today) etc. so I decided to go with a company with stellar reviews this time. This guy is great: friendly, honest, punctual, and fast. 10% discount for Yelpers, accepts credit cards, gives an accurate unprompted quote before starting work.
