I'm relatively new to getting my nails done w/ acrylic regularly and didn't have a great experience with this location. They took my original appointment as a walk-in, which was great! However, it was mostly downhill from there. One of the nail tech's young son was there (which I don't have a problem with at all) and he was screaming most of the time. It wasn't exactly relaxing.... I told the woman that was doing my nails (several times) that I wanted them as short as possible and she continued to keep them the length she was comfortable with. A couple days later, I had a couple of my nails pop off completely and a couple cracked. I went back to have them fixed and needless to say, the woman that I believe owns the place was extremely irritated with me and was not accommodating to my schedule in any way - she took full set walk-ins over having mine corrected. A couple days after having them fixed, I had the same issues again and just decided not to mess with going back to this location. This was about a month ago - I wanted to wait to be sure that it wasn't something I was doing that was causing my nails to crack before writing a review. Needless to say, I've been going somewhere else that's less than 2 miles from this location that has excellent quality, service, and is CHEAPER overall - I haven't had any issues with my nails since going elsewhere. I paid 50$ to get my nails done here for my vacation....TWO OF MY NAILS have broken off within TWO DAYS....I called to ask for a refund telling them I would come and show him when I arrived back into town and his response was "we don't give refunds because we don't see how it happens" WHAT?!??! What a waste of money I could've just use somewhere that actually appreciates the customers they get. To add on, I asked "so you want me to come in and get them fixed just for them to break again right away?" His response? "Yes" what crappy customer service. I'm 100% good on this place, don't waste your money. They're just going to break off anyway. I suggest somewhere where the nails actually STAY ON until it's time to get a balance or change. UPDATE: when I did get back into town on Sunday they were closed and another one had broken off by then so I took them all off. I was not going to my job looking like that. Ask for Trina! I don't know what happened with the last customer, but we searched and searched for a place open late to take our niece for mani pedis. They booked all three of us and stayed open over an hour late despite our saying we were fine with skipping the manis bc we knew we were last minute. Not a TON of massage, true, but I scheduled a pedicure, not a massage. Trina has crazy skills with designs. They cost extra depending on the design, but you can't find that everywhere. I love how they have a set of gel nail sets that come with a gel polish and a regular polish together of the same color! for example I like to get my nails in gel and my toes in regular paint it's always hard to find a matching color to my gel nails! I went to this Nail Salon earlier today with my mom and I'm sorry to say it was the worst thing I've experienced. The woman who did my nails was kind of rude. If my finger was in the way she would push it or slap my fingers to indicate that I needed to put them down. She didn't speak up while telling me orders, so I asked her "What?" and she got upset. I requested almond shaped nails and while she was doing my nails she kept looking back and forth from a little paper that showed the types of nails like she didn't know what she was doing? My nails right before the painting process was fine and good shape. After painting them, she filed them down into like a point and did not look good at all and she knew it too. After she was done filing she literally said, "Uh-oh" really low. Then ran into the back room before I could say anything. While we were starting to pay, the guy, Ron, who did my moms nails was telling up the price in which he said, "$115.59". I was looking at my nails and notice something I didn't before besides a totally different shape than what I wanted. Which was that some of them were crooked and bumpy. So I told my mom and she said something to Ron. I showed him my 'almond' shaped nails and how ugly they looked. He told me that he would fix/shape them up for free and even if he did, it wouldn't be my desired shape. I told him in response that I just wanted them off and he told me "No". My mom then asked for half off the price and then will go somewhere else to remove them. He through a fit and saying that he'll call the cops. He then called them and while on the phone he said, "Two customers came in to get there nails done, but now after they refuse to pay and are getting violent". ?? I don't even know. If you want your cuticles quickly trimmed, and polish slapped on your nails, then this is the place for you. Me? I'm about the relaxing experience of having someone use minor reflexology-like massage to relax me. I was specific that I was mostly concerned with the massage aspect of the manicure, and was willing to pay more for it. The owner told me it comes with their basic manicure. Wow. I worked at start nails over the winter, being from California I instantly clicked with Junior, LT and Hannah. I've worked in a couple places in California where the employees were all about themselves and not the client. When I tell you that LT, Junior and Hannah are all about their clients..... I mean THEY ARE ALL ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS! They go out of their way for their clients! I'm happy to see them growing and expanding their services! I really enjoyed my time being there. I went there for a pedicure, I had an appointment and waited for an hour before they could get to me and after the pedicure was a waist of my time I could have done a better job, I had to pay $30 for sitting in the Luke warm water for an hour and for them to just paint my nails and that was it nothing more was done I hate I waisted my money so don't go there unless you want to throw your money away. read more

I took my mom here for a pedicure as a birthday gift. Both of us left literally bleeding from the harsh filing job, and I ended up with an infection in my middle toe. Did not see them take the tools from a sanitized package, so really concerned about our health. The service was mediocre, and we were both wincing in pain during the entire experience despite multiple "ouch" and other comments. I will never be back here, and I hope they don't seriously infect anyone with their unsafe, gross, and painful services. read more

I am beyond disappointed in this nail salon. They are extremely unprofessional. I called yesterday around 3pm to make an appointment for today at 10:45am. I arrived today around 10:30am and they were closed, Even though their sign clearly states 10:00am-7:00pm (also pictured below, please note the voicemail says 10:00am-7:30pm, so which is it?) I figured okay maybe they're running a little behind even though the employee that answered the phone yesterday told me that she had a 10am appointment. I called while standing at the front door, no answer. I called once more before leaving and left a voicemail, I left at 10:50am and once I was almost home, (I live about 15 mins away) I received a call back from a Star Nails Employee, She said and I quote "did you call? Did you still want to have your nails done?" I said "No, I'm almost home, is there a reason as to why I made an appointment and your store wasn't open during the stated business hours?" The employee responded "Sometimes we have to open late on Friday's.." I asked if this was stated on the business hours sign and why did the employee's not call and cancel their appointments had they known that they would not be there on time..? She then changed her story and said "Well, we had an emergency" I declined her offer to uphold my appointment and we ended the phone call. Normally I wouldn't be this upset about employee's running a little late, but once she changed her story and acted as though my time nor appointment wasn't important it really struck a nerve. It is pouring the rain, I drove from a completely different side of town and this establishment acted as though it was completely okay to disregard appointments and stated business hours. I will never go back to this nail salon again and if anyone else decides to go, make sure that you're ready to be treated as though your time doesn't matter. My best advice is to save yourself the trip and go elsewhere. read more

I am very unhappy with this salon. My cousin went in the other day to get her nails done. She got acrylics. She had asked if they could make them look natural but they do not. Some of them look like they should be on bigger nails. Earlier today, one of them CAME OFF. I'm no nail expert or anything but I am pretty sure acrylics should not just fall off. I am giving 1 star since there are no option of giving 0. It was a very worst experience for me by doing manicure,pedicure and eyebrow waxing from here. The lady who did eyebrow waxing took half of my eyebrow on right side which is not even sync with left eyebrow length.She was giving too much explanation when i pointed out this.Even my friend who joined me could figure out that its uneven and looks weird. The guy who did manic ,pedic didnot do properly. He completed pedicure in 10-15 minutes, in that half of the time, there was a kid who randomly comes to him and he was pampering him and taking him away.He didnt do filingor anything .Also for manicure ,he didnt do anything and he was trying to skip one finger for nail shaping and pushing back cuticles.When i pointed that he was not even bothered. Worst experience ever! Just spent an hour and 15 minutes waiting for someone to do a basic pedicure. There were only 2 people working and there were 4 women being attended to. I realize they had their hands full, but after 45 minutes of no acknowledgment, they told me I could sit in one of the massage chairs. I then sat in the massage chair for another 30 minutes. The employees had not even the slightest bit of urgency and laughed and socialized instead of doing their clients nails. After waiting a total of an hour and 15 minutes I gathered up my things and began to walk towards the door. The employees then asked me if I wanted a pedicure. I told them I was just going to find another place to do my nails. One of the employees thanked me for being so patient, even though I hadn't even had a service done. I was a "Walk In" @ Star Nails on 2/6/16 for a Mani with Gel. I will never return. I requested color C25. I was told they were out of that pink color but they could create the same color using 2 different polishes. I agreed to their experiement. The color did not match the C25 color chip but that is not my issue. I'm pretty sure the young man doing my manicure was not licensed. He said he was originally from LA and has been doing nails off-and-on for 3 years. It is the worst manicure I have ever received. Upon completion, my nail tips were jagged and rough. After a few days my nail tips had lost their pink polish. After 7 days, 2 nails chipped. Generally, my mani & polish lasts 3 weeks (at a good salon). After 8 days I had my nails re-done at a reputable, licensed salon. Star Nails was my worst nail experience ever and I wish I had my $40 back ($35 + tip). read more

I will never go back to this place again. I called ahead to make sure there was not a wait. When I entered, there were 3 people working on 3 customers. I was told a few minutes wait. After 10 minutes of waiting they had me sit down and soak my hands in polish remover for over 30 minutes. No one assisted or helped, the customer service was horrible. When the nail tech was removing my polish he asked what I wanted. I said french manicure gel please with a design for breast cancer on my ring finger. He started to remove the polish and then got stickers out to put on my nails rather than do a design. I said I didn't want the stickers and he asked for me to come back tomorrow so they could finish my nails. I was there for 1.5 hours and walked out with only my polish removed and nails trimmed. Worst nail experience I have had, not even a salon. Will NEVER go back. and encourage others to not visit unless you want a horrible experience. read more
