These are some real C-suckers, don't deal with them! I ordered 42 tons of stones and the last two tons were the wrong color, so I wrote them and they said to send them pictures and I did and then they said to send them my email address and I did and after that, they just ignored me and wouldn't answer any of my emails. What I think happens is when they have to make two trips, they pull from a different location and the rock dont match. So the next time I had to fill an area next to my wall, I went to the right color pile of rocks and said I want them to pull from here so they match and the C-suckers pulled from another location, the driver told me, and now I have mismatched rocks again! read more

Was charged 250.00 for this tiny pile of pulverized concrete, Delivery guy was nice, accommodating, however this is easily half of the volume I was expecting for the price I paid. Will not be continuing business with them which is bad for them because I am completely re-landscaping my entire property. read more

We purchased an Ocotillo plant a couple months ago and had it planted by a landscaper. The plant has received the proper watering and care, but never bloomed and is definitely dead. They sell dead plants apparently and only offer a 30 day return. The problem is that it takes longer than that for the plant to start blooming or not. I think their ratings speak for themselves, and we now wish we had heeded others advice. This is a terrible place to buy plants, and I would suggest a reputable place like Home Depot or Lowes before throwing hundreds away here. We live in an area of Pahrump that has a lot of new home building, and plan on telling as many of our new and current neighbors as we can, about the experience. We can certainly stop a lot more sales from going their way than the plant cost. Best of luck if you choose to buy from this sub-par nursery. read more

I'm not sure why people who live in this town think they can be snot balls, but I'm sick of it. It's extremely frustrating asking questions, and being treated like an idiot, and snubbed at every turn. Most of the plants and trees were purchased at this location have died, or had pest infestation. Our grounds keeper explained that the tree came with this specific pest when it was purchased. Star does not stand behind the products they sell at all. When you can actually get one of the snot balls behind the counter to recommend a product, it's never the right one that I need. How does an employee not even know what they are doing? This was the last trip I'm making to this establishment. I'll drive 50 miles to Vegas first, before spending money with this business. read more

I recently purchased soil from star nursery Dr. Q's Filthy Rich Potting Soil for my indoor plants it was riddled Thrips.

Gal from California that would not release her name, claimed to be a Staff there would sell Pea Gravel in a large Bag and a stepping Stone. She kept cutting of my conversation like Joseph Stalin Hitler or Nikita Khrushchev and could not garantee that there would not be a billing error not in favor on the Verifone Billing system? She seemed to be wacked out on something, so I left!! I will never shop at this location again read more

Terrible customer service. Bought a butterfly bush left it in the container on my drip system and it died in 1week. Just OK. Pros - it's local and has a decent selection. Cons - I asked an employee where to find the lantana. She apologized that she was new and didn't know. That's fine, but she didn't offer to find someone who could help me or even point me to another employee. There are signs everywhere requiring masks outdoors. Everywhere. Not one employee was wearing a mask. I bought my items and got out of there as quickly as possible. Had the staff been responsibly masked I would have browsed, and likely have bought more. Given their flouting of the rules that keep us all safe, I won't go back until the masking requirements are lifted. read more

Went there for the Sat Apr 7 sale where they were offering free Lady Bugs for their sale labeled "Lady Bug Launch." I spent a $50 bill there and asked about the Lady bugs and of course they said they were out of them (before noon). They did have mega cartons of them on the counter for $6 bucks each and offered to sell them when I asked about the free ones. read more

If you need rock or soil delivered. Don't use Star Nursery! They will not give you any idea of when they will arrive. I took a day off work and finally gave up by 3pm. They did give me a full refund but when I asked why they didn't map out deliveries to give an arrival estimate I was told it was too difficult. I expained it was poor customer service and it can cost them buisness but was told to look at the line of customers. I had planned on ordering 30 tons of rock for the following week but will go elsewhere. After my refund I received a call from the delivery driver saying he was on the way but I had cancelled and could no longer be at home. If you have more patience then me and can wait all day, they msy work for you. read more

Staff that isn't very helpful, doesn't care and sometimes rude. This is pretty much expected in Pahrump, since most of these people living here have little or no self respect. I was attempting to purchase sod from this store and nobody could count (nor did they want to), just a lot of blank stares and excuses. Pure idiots. I realize it does not take much in the way of intelligence to work at a nursery as a cashier or waterboy, but just a little common courtesy would go a long way. After not getting any results with a simple purchase (yes,I wanted to give them my money) I advised the young staff that I would not bring my business to this location anymore. Meh, was my experience. Star Nursery used to be great, now they just seem to want to match Home Depot prices as well as subpar service. The 15 gallon tree, which costs $49, is nearly exactly the same size at the 5 gallon tree, you pay an extra $25 for a bunch of cockroach invested dirt. I should have immediately returned the tree as soon as I took it out of the pot, the roots were very flimsy and not attached to any soil. By the next day, the leaves were falling off. I have bought several 5 gallon trees from Star before, all have been very healthy. I feel like got suckered into paying more for a tree that I should have, the guy told me the tree was healthy, I knew better. I have the receipt, I plan to take it back but it's certainly an inconvenience. The quality of the product at Star has certainly dropped off. read more
