Went in on Wednesday afternoon with my husband for a coconut smoothie with boba, and a mango smoothie with pineapple coconut. We weren't expecting it to be amazing we just wanted to get a special treat because my we were celebrating a happiness in our life, but let me tell you is was so delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had Chai Milk Tea as I've been wanting that for quite a while. They don't have any levels of sweetness or amount of ice listed, so if you want a specific amount of either make sure to ask. I got the Chai Milk Tea with Boba and it was pretty tasty but leaning toward the sweeter side. The boba was perfectly cooked and had a great texture and bite to it. I am from out of state and I love having boba especially where there's more minorities living in the area. In my opinion it's geared more towards the Asian palate. This place has a decent selection of boba flavors compared to my local area. Our cashier was a kid, not a whole lot of interactions or any suggestions were made. No efforts was made in making customer's visit pleasant. On top of that, the drinks we got were overly sweet. We were not offered to have less sweet option, not on their menu as well. What can you do, it was just a kid that took our order and doesn't know any better. This used to be a mediocre Tapioca Express (but the only boba place near the outlets) and now it's a mediocre Star Tea. I got the strawberry smoothie with boba and it was far too sweet. If you can get the sweetness adjusted, I would do so. It also did not taste like there were fresh strawberries used (I don't remember if the menu said that it used fresh fruit). I tried my mom's avocado smoothie and I liked that better since it did use the actual fruit and the avocado balances out the sweetness. The boba was decent. I was greeted warmly when I walked in and there was music playing and there was not a loud fan nor a strong smell of Clorox or bleach unlike what I've read in other reviews. Additionally I sat at a sturdy table with a chair that didn't wobble. When I ordered the young man behind the counter made eye contact and smiled with his salutation. All the boys staff here don't care customers. I came in to order drink. They saw me walked in and decided to ignore me for some reasons. But, at the end, when you pay, they want to know how much you tip them. How funny! The drinks here are OK, too sweet and too much artificial flavor, in my opinion. The boys serve customers based on their mood. Last time, I came in to order a honey green tea. The boy glanced at me and told me they're out of honey green tea. I weren't sure if the store was out of honey green tea or the boy just had a bad day and tried to kick the customers out. Not many customers here, they're pretty slow. No where on the sign does it say I can't use the card the same day it's purchased. Most places that offer gift card promotions allow you to use the gift card as you please.
