    Chicken Caesar salad
    Hannah W.

Service was great. Food came out fast. Chicken on the salad was precooked. Rubbery and no taste even if you choke it down.. Very disappointed! Chicken should always be cooked in house!

First time here since the remodel. Service was good. Food was better. Definitely a nice place for a meal. I was in for lunch and had the "Toasted Club" sandwich. I really enjoyed it and I am planning on coming back to try some other things.

Overdone steak. Service appeared as though they didn't want us there. Food was bland. Everything overpriced.

We ordered the pastrami Reuben with fries and ended up splitting it between the two of us. It was absolutely delicious and VERY hearty. The portions here are definitely generous, and one meal was plenty for two people for us. One thing that really stood out was how creative the food seems to be. This doesn't feel like a restaurant simply following the standard pub menu. Several of the dishes sounded like things they've experimented with, developed, and really made their own. There seems to be a lot of creativity and personality behind the menu. The sauce served with our Reuben was especially good. It reminded me of a cross between Thousand Island and a Big Mac-style sauce, but with its own flavor. Whatever it was, it was top-notch and went perfectly with the sandwich. The atmosphere is definitely that of a true bar/pub. We aren't drinkers, and alcohol is obviously a major focus here, from the decor to the overall feel of the restaurant. If you're not a drinker, you may feel a little out of place in the main bar area, so that is something to know going in. That being said, they do have a separate side dining room away from the main bar area, as well as a patio that looked like it would be a wonderful place to sit, eat, and enjoy the beautiful Wyoming scenery. The building itself is definitely older and a little worn down. It appeared clean on the surface, but you can tell the restaurant has seen a lot of use over the years and could probably benefit from some updating and a little extra attention in certain areas. At the same time, the rustic, well-used feel does fit the personality of a longtime local pub. Our one meal came to $25.68, so it is certainly on the pricier side for a sandwich and fries. However, this is Jackson Hole, and higher prices are somewhat expected in a tourist town. Considering how large the portions were, the price was a little easier to justify. Overall, The Bird is a fun, quirky, very casual place with huge portions and some surprisingly creative food. The pastrami Reuben was delicious, the sauce was fantastic, and I would definitely order it again.

This was our third summer in a row in the Daniel/Merna/Pinedale area but our first time giving GRB a try due to a few people saying the slaw dawg was good. The first night we arrived in Daniel I went in and a lady served me at the bar and she was attentive and somewhat friendly. A couple nights later I went back with my wife. Nan (the owner) was running the bar and cooking. Nan is hands down the sweetest lady we've met is Sublette County, and that's saying a lot as most everyone you meet in the Sublette County is super friendly. Nan will guide you through the menu, tell you about the area, and give you recommendations on things to do. She runs the place with a smile, even with the bar/restaurant being busy (and it does get busy). When we go back this winter, or next summer, we will definitely go to GRB a few times. My boys loved the Shirley temples and Roy rogers with a heaping handful of cherries! Please know that the building is over 100 years old and it looks old. But it's not dirty, I saw it being cleaned and mopped while we were there. Also keep in mind that it's a bar frequented by locals who support local business establishments and life long friends.

So I ordered an old-fashioned for a cocktail and it came in a water glass with ice filled to the top, I had to take the ice out of the glass in order to drink it. It was not good. Then I ordered the T-bone steak with the baked potato and the only side veggie available, which was steamed vegetables. The steak was $30. When our plates arrived at the table we could see the steaks were pretty pathetic, really thin, and mine was definitely not a Tbone. I had ordered mine, medium rare and it was well done but more than that, it was so gristly I couldn't even eat it. The baked potato was good, but the vegetables were so full of garlic and so soft and mushy yuck. I would never refer this restaurant to someone who wanted a good steak dinner. I felt bad for our waiter because not only was he the only waiter there, he was the cashier and was also checking people into the hotel .

Had to get the prime rib special, not disappointed. My meal flew out of the kitchen before I could get half way through the salad. And I like my food HOT and this was much appreciated. Portions were unreal. I think the prime rib was on the menu at 14oz, but I'm pretty sure mine was 16-18oz. Veggie side was huge as was the baker and enough to feed two people. Good people and Outstanding Cuisine.
