Getting in and out of this Starbucks can be a nightmare during weekday mornings. The parking lot is not very big so you'll often have cars illegally parked. The drive thru line often goes out to the main road, 1A. The service has been good here. I usually don't want to deal with the traffic on 1A so I'll opt for delivery. They need to radically revamp how this Starbucks is configured. I would propose removing the indoor seating, most of the parking spots and making it strictly drive thru. read more

This is my favorite starbucks! Close to home which is convenient and has a drive thru which is always a plus! Especially for me because I like to come as soon as I wake up in my Robe and if they didn't have a drive thru, I wouldn't be able to do that. I would be forced to make myself look somewhat presentable just to get my morning fix . I spend 20 dollars a day here for me and my fiance and we just LOVE it! ONLY thing I can complain about is sometimes they run out of bantam bagels which makes no sense to me because as a business , you should always be prepared . Hi, I just want to update a past review of this particular Starbucks. In light of all the hard times, bad times, total chaos, loss, isolation, you have to commend theses employees. They are working non stop, and as I've noticed from waiting in line, some other customers are not taking that into consideration, only to act rude to these workers, yet one in particular still stands out in professionalism. Laura is her name (as her tag says), and no matter what, she is always with a smile and no order is an issue. Yes, we may have to wait, but she greets me with pleasant smile. I work in customer service for a major airline, and she would be an asset to our company, and sometimes I use her attitude as an example when training customer service employees. Attitude is everything and it is no surprise in the Boston Area that Dunkin Donuts dominates, when you see the low quality of the folks that work in this store in particular. I showed up at 5;45 am and could see the person inside and he could see me. I asked if there was a problem and he told me = yeah, come back later, you're here too early. I pointed out that it said 5;30 on the sign and he said he didn't care, that he was opening at 6 and if i didn't like it go somewhere else. he had some other things to say also - wow. Alright, I'm not necessarily a HUGE fan of Starbucks', but this location gets four stars for a number of reasons: First of all, it's about time that Eastie had a restaurant that specialized in coffee, aka a coffee shop! It's the only Starbucks in sight until the one attached to the Target entrance up the street (and that one don't count bubba). Second, it's got an effing drive-thru, and who doesn't appreciate laziness in America! You don't need to get off your ass to pay or even order your dang coffee in the morning. Fast food at it's finest right here. Third, it's actually got a sitting space inside and people actually come and sit and read the paper in the mornings. It's not a partnership so everything you'd find in a normal starbucks you find here too - from coffees to mugs and tumblers. Only bad things, you can't really get there just by walking. You need a car, and the parking lot and entrance are kinda tricky. Speaking of the parking lot, it's a decent size, but there have been times where I had to wait in my car until someone got out of a spot for me to be able to park there. Otherwise you have to park illegally in the parking lot adjacent to the bucks, which who knows what the heck the businesses are in the seaport/industrial districts of Eastie and Chelsea!! So, I'm happy to have this just a few blocks away, and convenient enough for me to drive through and jump on the highway right into Boston! read more

This is such a disappointment to write as I have been a Starbucks customer for years and frequent several locations and had excellent I mean excellent services, but due to a change in jobs was forced to start going to this one on the way to work, not once, twice or three times but at least a handful of times have I just dealt with the ignorance, ridiculous service this location gives. I thought it was pretty cool that a Starbucks took over an empty building in East Boston on Rt. 1A. The parking lot is a little tricky due to its postage stamp size and there is one exit and one entrance but don't pay attention to those signs. The interior is rather spacious and it's not a bad spot to hang out and relax/read/etc. The baristas are friendly and quick and it's never ever too crowded. I completely agree with the other reviews stating how the staff is awful. First and foremost, its a starbucks so the brewed drinks are exactly what you get anywhere. The stuff that requires barista knowledge- well they fail. The attitude of the staff? Really awful. First i walk in and have to look for the way the line goes. Its not as obvious when you first walk in. I was the only person and a couple walked in right behind me, went straight to the cashier and ordered, completely skipping me when barista had already acknowledged me. Then posted hours are 10pm close. At 8:50 a guy came by and told me "times up!", not were closing in a few, or anything sincere. I questioned the time, and he said thats wrong. There were people still trying to come in before 9 and he had locked the door while mopping. He also told another barista to lock up the drive through. Its still not 9pm yet. It appeared they just wanted to get everything cleaned up early enough to either leave right at 9, or ride the clock for 30 min after closing doing nothing because its already done. Either way it was rude, and unprofessional. I come to this location often and I find great service, good variety of food items and a nicely remodeled location. The only two things that keeps me away from 5 stars is the often full parking lot and how cold this location is; no one even takes off their jackets. This place rocks! Rex makes the best apple cinnamon cappuccino. Ever. The cinnamon whipped cream really shoots it over the edge And they have an amazing secret menu they only advertise to the regulars, but they still make it for you if you ask. Ask for the "Coconut Bash" if you like coconut and chocolate. It's the best frappuccino I've ever had hands down. And the eggs Benedict always makes a great sandwich on the go. I order at this drive through a lot and the service is always really fast and friendly. They move through a line of ~10 cars in under 5 minutes. I went inside today for a coffee and to churn through some emails. The young man working the register (I think his name was Sam) was really pleasant. If you are an early commuter (I'm there around 6-6:15 AM) it's a great location - fast, friendly and almost no wait at all if you park and walk inside. Reading the reviews of others - of course a drive-thru is slow, especially this one, as it's right near the airport and the parking lot isn't designed terribly efficiently. The one good thing about a Starbucks is that you know what you're getting. They're typically consistant and it's usually one of those places where you can throw what sounds like a crazy order at them and they know exactly what you're talking about. THIS Starbucks is an exception. Throw out all your expectations and don't expect to ever get what you order -- no matter how basic it may be! They're still relatively new, so I was giving them the benefit of the doubt for awhile. They have a drive-through which I only use when I'm getting something simple, but I stopped using that because it takes forever and they rarely get your order right. So, I started going inside hoping that in person, I could get better results. Nope. Today for example, I ordered a Grande Decaf Skinny Iced Mocha, to which the man informed me they no longer carry sugar-free mocha syrup. I said that was fine, just use the normal syrup. So then he asks if I still want skim milk in it to whoch I reply yes. He then repeats the whole order back to me to make sure he's got it right. I confirm it. He says it again. I confirm it. The register girl asks me what i ordered so she could ring it up. I tell her. She repeats it back. I confirm it. She asks if it was a grande, even though we just went over that, and I smile and say yes. I pay her, and the man making my drink asks if it was decaf, to which I say, yes. He repeats the order back, I confirm it. A few minutes later he hands me my drink and says "Venti Iced Mocha". I tell him that I ordered a grande and his response is "I forgot so I just made you a venti." To add to it, there's no way in hell this is decaf and I'm pretty sure it's not skim since it tastes pretty heavy. This place is just frustrating. As far as Starbucks goes, that order wasn't difficult. And when there are 3 people working and 1 customer in the store, there is NO reason to get it THAT wrong after repeating the correct order back so many times. I've had a couple of okay experiences there, but overall, this is THE WORST coffee place I've EVER been in. There's one guy in particular that seems to always work mornings who is the worst. If I knew his name, I'd post it. He's the one I had to day. Usually, when I see him, I order something ultra-basic like tea and even then he gets confused, but today I was REALLY craving a mocha. He gives me coffee road rage. In summation: This place shouldn't be allowed to bear the Starbuck's title. You're better off going to the Starbucks that's in the Target across the street if it's after 8am when they open. I get to work at 7am, so I'm stuck here unless I go to Dunkin' Donuts. read more
