Bravissima Jessie!! You are a goddess who shines and this "bone dry" doppio macchiato feels as light as light divine such as you radiate. Grazie sempre.

Today was the day (officially) that the new Kiwi Starfruit refresher dropped. My daughter and I, being HUGE Harry Styles fans...rolled up to the drive thru blasting his song "Kiwi" and ordered these drinks. A very pleasant voice from the speaker box said they did in fact offer this drink now! Yesss! So exciting! I'm gunna pay for this! The young lady at the window, with strawberry blonde hair, was super sweet and spoke with us about the flavors in this new drink. She told us it tastes a little bit more like a green apple Jolly Rancher. My favorite one! So this of course, made me happy. These drinks were awesome. A little tart. Very cool and refreshing. I'm kinda into it! We continued on to park in the parking lot and filmed a video for TikTok, with our Kiwi drinks.

I asked very nicely for a pink drink that cost 6 bucks with very little ice. The order slip even reads "light ice" Very disappointed with my cup 2/3 full of freaking ICE. Not to mention the 15 minute drive thru wait time.

    Crazy amount of ice

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cool woman-owned coffee shop…read more I was looking for a coffee place in the area and this came up with high marks. Located on the main drag called Maine St in Brunswick, it was a cozy, welcoming space. I decided on their Earthworm latte--a delicious sweet treat featuring Oreo crumbs. I sat at the bar facing Maine st, watching the midweek traffic pass by and leisurely enjoying my coffee. It looked like a very mom- and kid-friendly space, which made sense after learning that it was a woman-owned business. A bulletin board by the front door had a bunch of flyers tacked on to it, and it seemed like a popular neighborhood hub. A cool small business worth supporting.

I came here to replenish my coffee beans, having miscalculated how much to bring on my camping…read moretrip. Their beans are from a small local roastery. That matters to me. Time and Tide in Biddeford. Since I was there I had a cup too, because why not. It was decent, but maybe just the slightest bit weak? Or maybe not. Lots of fancier options too but I don't go for those. They have a selection of baked goods. I think they're all from other small local businesses, not made here. I had a lemon blueberry scone with the coffee which was outstanding. Delightfully light in texture, not heavy or greasy, and not overly sweet. Lemony of course and the blueberries were plentiful, tangy, and small. I'd guess they were wild Maine blueberries (frozen of course this being April) but I'm not sure. A maple glaze completed this masterpiece. They didn't forget the chocolate lovers. A very dark enormous brownie called to me but reluctantly I passed. Maybe tomorrow. It annoys me when bakeries don't have any chocolate offerings. From the hand pie selection I chose a Carrot, Leek, and Goat Cheese for later. Also outstanding. The crust was flaky, not dry, subtly buttery, and just the right thickness for the filling which was generous. (It made it all the way to the edges, which many hand pies do not.) Decorated with thyme leaves. The filling was sweet, which I thought was just from the caramelized leeks but I read on the wrapper that sugar is also an ingredient. Just the right amount. The carrots were "rainbow", in several colors, and very pretty. Pretty expensive at $8 but for the size and quality I'm glad I got it. The place is very small but looks like a comfortable place to hang out. A few small tables, walls decorated with painted flowers and vines. The counter people were nice and thanked me for coming in. Customers were mostly engrossed in conversations, not absorbed into their devices. Even though it was just a quick stop for take-out I enjoyed my visit.

Luckily, there were only about five people ahead of us, and the line moved quickly. The person taking our order immediately made us feel welcome. Even with a busy morning crowd, they took their time with everyone and treated each customer like they were the only one there. That kind of genuine friendliness is something you don't forget. The atmosphere is unlike any coffee shop I've been to. Every wall has something different to look at, quirky artwork, funny signs, vintage pieces, random collectibles, a mannequin dressed in sunglasses and boots, even a life-size Tom Cruise hanging out on the patio. I found myself constantly looking around because there was something interesting in every direction. One of my favorite touches was the self-serve coffee station. You grab a mug from the wall instead of a paper cup. I picked one with a cool Abraham Lincoln wearing a backwards baseball cap while sipping coffee, which perfectly matched the café's fun personality. There were several coffee choices, and I ended up trying two. Refills are available for a small fee. For breakfast, I ordered one of their brioche breakfast sandwiches with the meat of the day, which was brisket. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the soft brioche bun. I also ordered a toasted jalapeño bagel with jalapeño shmear. It comes sprinkled with Tajín but got mine on the side. While I usually enjoy Tajín, it was just a little much for me first thing in the morning, so next time I'd ask for it without. The jalapeño shmear itself was delicious. After eating, we took our coffee outside to enjoy the patio. The colorful mural covering the building, beautiful flower pots, and relaxed seating made it a great place to sit and slow down for a while. Dog Bar Jim isn't just a place to grab breakfast, it's one of those places with real personality. Great food, excellent coffee, genuinely kind service, and an atmosphere that's fun, creative, and impossible to forget. If you're anywhere near Brunswick, it's absolutely worth the stop.

Overall it's a pretty good gelato place. I like the flavors and the texture. Service is excellent. Price is bit pricey but not too bad. Only thing is that it was not necessary special or unique. But still a solid place. Good stop for sweet desert.

But I've always appreciated their delicious roasts! I had the opportunity to check out their open house in December and am so glad I braved the cold and snow to do so. I'm not entirely sure if they're open to the public normally, but part of me hopes they are (or would consider it at least two or four times a year). This is a beautiful space that should be celebrated and used as frequently as possible. We got to sample many different blends and actually watch coffee roast (which I had no idea was such a quick process - from white to yellow to tan to brown). Also, wanna talk about passionate, community-oriented people? The folks behind the Wicked Joe (and Bard) brand(s) definitely are; and they're intensely knowledgeable about coffee, too. What you don't know is that the entire Bard staff is trained thoroughly at this Wicked Joe locale on a set-up identical to one at the actual coffee shop. Each barista has to make every drink on the menu perfectly before they can serve you at Bard. My respect for that coffee shop multiplied by a thousand when I found that out! She immediately and rudely told me, "You need to go through the drive-through. All pickups are at the drive-through." The promptly closed the walk up window in my face. If that's the policy, that's fine, but there was no need to act that way, especially to someone who was just attempting to pick up a DoorDash order. In addition, it was especially confusing since other Aroma Joe's locations always direct dashers to use the walk-up window or go inside to avoid holding up the drive-through line. Rather than deal with the hostility, I unassigned the order from my account and left without pay. Delivery drivers are simply following the instructions provided to them and a respectful explanation would have been appreciated, especially considering the store has to manually add in what pick up instructions for drivers are.
