This is one of the nicer Starbucks in the area, recently renovated and looking sleek. The parking situation gets a little chaotic with the location of the drive through just blocking everything and causing some delays. I ordered on the app and after I cleared the parking hurdles, my coffee was waiting for me made to specification on the counter. The staff is very efficient and churn our drinks FAST so you don't have to wait too long. Would be a 5 stars with a more efficient and less painful parking / drive through situation. read more

So, I love my coffee and a ceramic mug, I walked here merrily to get in a walk, and to bring back a couple of coffees. Jokingly, I asked, do you have coffee mugs or I could sit and enjoy, and to my surprise, she said yes, we brought them back! I needed to get a cup of ice water for my dog after a nice long run at the James Island County Park. It was such a beautiful and hot day for a run and I failed to bring my water bottle. Anyway, I asked my dog if she wanted to go to Starbucks (since it was close by) or go home. And she told me with excitement that she wanted to go through the Starbucks drive-thru.... Because getting a cup of ice water from there also meant getting a pup cup. Because I didn't want to be that cheapskate that goes into the drive thru for just a free pup cup and a free cup of water, I ended up getting myself an espresso frappuccino, which was really good by the way. So.... this review is on behalf of my mini goldendoodle, the real customer here. The service was great. She was acknowledged at the window. Her ice water was cold and really helped her cool down. The puppuccino was upgraded to a larger than usual size, so that was a tail-wagging surprise and made her trip even more worth it. Bottom line.... Happy dog = Happy human. When I went to check in on Yelp I was wondering how Starbucks could have a rating less than 4 stars but after experiencing it, I now know why! I am an avid Starbucks consumer, but mostly at home with self-brew coffee and Doubleshot cans from Publix or Target. However, I am forever a sucker when it comes to Starbucks limited edition specialty drinks and when I saw the new Crystal Ball Frappacino, I knew I had to head over to get one before the deal was gone. The appealing thing about this location was the drive thru as it was a lazy Sunday for me which means PJs all day and a preference of staying in my car. There were only a couple cars in line so I figured I was safe to order. I placed my order rather quickly, but then I waited in line for what felt like an eternity. I watched the person in front of me pay.... wait 4 minutes for a drink.... then they didn't leave so we kept waiting... another few minutes later they get drink #2 and head out. During this time I was naturally assuming they must have ordered the world's most complicated and involved drink -- it had to be their fault. To make this short -- I waited in line for over 15 minutes to get my drink with only 2 cars ahead of me who each ordered 1-2 drinks. When I did finally get up to the window, they had not even started on my drink yet. I had to wait a couple minutes before I saw the barista start making it. I'm sure they were busy, but there were only 2 cars ahead of me in line at the drive thru and it still took way too long. But my drink tasted alright and I got what I came for, so overall it was successful. read more

Small Starbucks with a super great staff. The location is just off Folly Bch is perfect for date night or just to sit there and enjoy the atmosphere. The Toffee Coffee is a great choice if you are a chestnut coffee lover. Also they have mini bagels filled with cream cheese I had never seen that at any other Starbucks I had to purchase it and wow!!!! I wish all Starbucks carried it. Super clean, great jazz music playing in the background they have space for you to sit and work or just sit there and enjoy your surroundings. So happy they opened a Starbucks on james island! I know it's a chain but there are still certain things I love about Starbucks... like a Java Chip Frappuccino and their dark chocolate covered Grahams. This particular location has the strangest parking lot, but whatever works! Just don't accidentally go in the drive thru exit. The staff here have all been super friendly and quick with orders, though my java chip light got made incorrectly once. But they had just opened, so the staff might have been learning the orders. I'm happy with the service, the drinks, the baked goods, and the location. Their iced coffee is awesome, as well as passion tea and strawberry açaí refreshers. First time visiting this location. It is really hard to get in and out of the parking lot. The drive thru line had us waiting to get in the parking lot to park and go in. I got out and ordered inside while my husband parked. We brought our puppy for her first Puppacino. We sat outside. I received my drink timely but not the Puppacino. This includes the sugar & stuff counter about 95% of the time...impressive for a busy Starbucks. The biggest downfall of this location is the parking lot. They are always busy, especially in the mornings! I use my app to order as I'm walking out the door and park in the lot across the street to run in and grab my order. You are going through drive-thru so by the time you can take a sip and realize they screwed up, you at the red light. Here is where Starbucks wins: They stay open until 10 PM!!!!! That is hard to find around these parts. I have to say, they hired some fun folks. Maybe it was Sunday night and quiet, but they were a riot. Totally enjoyed my time there that night. Great drive in area (even though the parking lot design is a bit weird). Maybe tricky is the better word. Either way, it is not orthodox. The area (both indoor and outdoor) is spacious. Careful entering as there is a bit of a bump to get from the road to the parking lot. Brand new location on Folly Rd! Service was friendly and pretty fast, despite the line of cars in the drive through. The interior is classic Starbucks with a few new upgrades. Drive through had a nice digital screen- I think with the capability to do the creepy video screen ordering that Starbucks has been rolling out (which was not turned on when I visited). Nice selection of Starbucks merchandise inside. They seem to be branching out with other brands, which makes me want allllllll the coffee mugs. Okay who doesn't love Starbucks if you love coffee and refreshments. They are usually spot on every time. Today was a bit different. I ordered my usual Dark Roast coffee but was told they stop selling dark roast at 11am. Wait what? Not sure if this is a local thing, regional or corporate wide but definitely not cool. They are a coffee shop after all. So I ordered a medium roast with a shot of espresso. My wife wanted a refresher tea. I was informed they were out. Hmm. Okay. I asked for a scone and was told they were also out. Not a good day for my visit to Starbucks. Maybe it's due to the "global shortage" or maybe it's bad management and planning. The service here is fast and efficient as they work hard to make sure that you get your order fast and can be on your way. The staff here is friendly and cares about their customers. Ordered blueberry oatmeal, blueberries weren't in the bag, when I asked for them, what I received was a molded container of blueberries. The young lady grabbed the container from me and made a face at the blueberries just as I did. When she received the "new" blueberries, the other young lady said, "idk, she said it was dirty" and gave her a container of blueberries, she looked at me uneasy and when I looked at the blueberries, I shook my head once i realized they were the same blueberries just wiped off (mold wiped off the outside)...I'm so disappointed and I literally didn't feel comfortable consuming my frapp nor the oatmeal with nuts and dried fruit. Great location! Staff is eager to help and always friendly. Even as a drive thru customer I always feel like a regular and it makes waiting a few minutes for a hand crafted drink worth it. This location also has the fabulous starbucks nitro cold brew which is absolutely worth the extra cost. If you havent tried it yet I highly encourage you to do so! This is a very busy location, especially in the weekends and they are always swamped with drive through and mobile orders. Today my mobile order took 38minutes from when I ordered (online app told me 9-12 min). Whoever is in charge needs to turn of mobile ordering when it get so backed up.
