I ordered the egg white and cheese and was surprised to see a $2 upcharge on my receipt for egg whites instead of scrambled eggs. This was never communicated by the cashier who seemed to not want to be there. For $10, this sandwich was mostly bread with very little egg and wasn't worth the price. Just blah! Everything about Baguette Magic truly is magic, you cannot go wrong with anything they are making for you. We have been coming here for years, and they are only getting better and better. The quality of the food is so good and you can taste the TLC they put into each dish or pastry. If you live in James Island and have not been here, you must run there now!!! I was looking for a good breakfast sandwich and decided to try Baguette Magic on Folly Rd, James Island. The staff was friendly and service was outstanding. The menu had penty of great sandwiches that are a must try! You got to also try their fresh brewed coffees, it's a cup of eye opening goodness. I was really looking forward to trying Baguette Magic - West Ashley! We ordered two chai tea lattes, and both tasted like warm cinnamon water with almost no tea flavor. They were completely undrinkable. I actually handed mine back to the cashier and asked her to throw it away. What surprised me most was that she simply took it, threw it away, and never asked if there was a problem or offered to remake it. Having worked in customer service my entire life, I found that incredibly disappointing. I would have expected at least a simple, "I'm sorry--was something wrong?" or "Can I make you another one?" Instead, there was no follow-up at all. The avocado toast was completely overwhelmed by not one, but two different kinds of onions. There was so much onion that it overpowered everything else, it was thrown away. The biggest letdown was the pork belly BLT. I was genuinely excited to try it, but the pork belly was as tough as a shoe and had about as much flavor. It was nearly impossible to enjoy, we threw that away as well. After spending $40, we are still hungry and wishing we had gone somewhere else. To make matters worse, we left a tip (before receiving the terrible service/food). We didn't enjoy any of these items, and everything we ordered was thrown away shortly after we tried it. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend Baguette Magic based on our visit. read more

I was quite baffled when this place had no baguettes actually for sale. Stranger still, some were set aside to make various breakfast sandwiches that I didn't want, but I couldn't simply buy a baguette to take with me. Moreover, they were already out of most of their best baked goods, and I stopped in at 9:30 or so (25% of the way through an 8-2 day). So the quality might not be there, but acquiring the items is a challenge. The croissant I settled on delivered a robust flavor with plenty of almond paste, and it was fine for what it was. Frequent visitor to the area and Baguette Magic is always on my go to list. Food is solid. Service, for counter service, is always top notch. Food is always brought out hot and fresh. We had the Recovery Baguette and Brie-covery Baguettes on this trip, with potatoes and pimento cheese grits on this trip and, as always, it was great. The food was amazing! My mom walked in, planning to hate everything there. She walked out raving about the French toast. The bread was to die for! They were very busy, and the service was slow and rushed, but they were always polite. In the 40 minutes we were there, I never saw someone clean a table, and a lot of them needed wiped down.
